Final Fantasy VII Remake

There’s a proverb that says, ‘good things come to those who wait’. And it’s true, but I’d also add not to those who wait too long. Final Fantasy VII, an old game that fans around the world have been asking, no, begging for a remake of for so long, that it has become an old story.

We've had too many articles on this. Approve right now, and you're an idiot. How many more articles on the same subject do you need? Forget the source - there's nothing any one can possibly say that would make the issue anything less than beaten to death.

@doeman: You tried and I commend you for that. But goddamnit I hate the mods and admins so much right now (second to hating the people approving, of course).

@suunyd: Ten bucks says SpaceSquirrel shows up to approve it. Along with either hardcoregamer-something, movements, alaa or some other GamesThirst cronie.

doeman5803d ago (Edited 5803d ago )

i tried submitting a report, but it says i need to be a contributor... wtf. watch this crap get approved anyway >_>;
i'm tired of seeing these "articles".

raWfodog5803d ago

It's been talked about so long and written about so much...I no longer care either way if the game ever gets remade. If it does, good. If it doesn't, no sweat

Menech5802d ago

Square wont remake it the PS3 doesn't have enough GFX to handle FFVII remake maybe in Microsoft bought the rights.

These guys really need to get their approval rights taken away. This is a speculation article from a website known for flamebait. The people on N4g are going to get hyped for FF7 Remake, even though they aren't making it.

Megaton5803d ago

Pretty sure one of those people writes for GamesThirst now since no one took his blog seriously. He should have never even earned his approval rights in the first place. Uses them solely to push his agenda, and has done so for many months, if not years.

N4G would be better off with GamesThirst banned. Aside from their generally awful hitbait blogs, the site has been infected with malware on numerous occasions.

40cal5803d ago

All of you guys griping about this getting approved need to shut it.

I for one still want this remake to happen.

Megaton5803d ago

The day somebody actually adds some new info to this ongoing mythical game's creation, I'll approve it myself. Until then, there's no reason for a new speculation piece to be approved every couple days. Nothing substantial has been added to the conversation in YEARS. Same old song and dance since that stupid tech demo got this ball rolling.

huzzaahh5803d ago

They really need to shut up about this remake that will never happen. It would ruin the charm and style of the original anyway.

Rainstorm815803d ago

This game has gone beyond mythical status.....As badly as i want this game to be remade (one of the best soundtrack of all time IMHO)I just dint see it ever being done its been 13 years since FF7, its time to let Cloud and the gang go.

Square need to once and for all crush this rumor or do a fan service and come out with a remake. a FF7 remake would top every game square has made this gen. Have it with a battle system that makes the battles look like FF7:AC.

See ive done gone and hyped my mind for a game that may very well never exist.

This is like unicorns, loch ness monster, bigfoot and UFOs all rolled into one unreachable game.

poopface15802d ago

SE needs some quick money.

1Victor5803d ago

Bubble up. E.E is waiting for one of their FF games to suck so bad they'll have no choice but to release the direct remake of FFVII till then no matter how much fans ask & beg there'll be no FFVII remake. That's the way I see it

DA_SHREDDER5802d ago

Indeed, I would rather have a sequel to Skies of Arcadia or FF10 than this game. Not that I wouldn't want it in the future.

i wish so haaaard that i could get my ass interested in the FF franchise!! but its the combat thing that puts me off.. but i hear from the fans that its a beautiful experience!!!

Shadow Flare5803d ago (Edited 5803d ago )

which type of combat puts you off? The new real time style or the old turn based style? I really loved the old turn based combat. Couldnt really get into the new style though

kesvalk5802d ago

why then did you approve this crap?

we're all tired of articles about rumors about a remake of FF7...

Shadow Flare5803d ago (Edited 5803d ago )

sick of hearing about this. Square Enix are not SquareSoft. Square Enix will ruin a remake.

hardcore19125803d ago

I hope they keep the game just like it was on the PSone.

Nice article.

40cal5803d ago (Edited 5803d ago )

Square "ENIX" nailed Advent Children and Crisis Core is an excellent game.

Also, you do realize most of the important people needed for this project to be awesome are still employed with Square right?

Theonik5803d ago

No they aren't. Hironobu Sakaguchi is no longer employed in SE as of 2004 and he was the director for FFVII and is also the man responsible for the FF series.

T9X695803d ago (Edited 5803d ago )

This would be the only reason I would play FF again. After 8 the series went down the crapper IMO.

PiTCHBLaCK5803d ago

8 was the worst FF game IMO.

Shadow Flare5802d ago

In your opinion. In my opinion FF8 is one of the best games i've ever played

ExposingLames5803d ago

ya i agree but 10 was awesome....maybe even my fav

DaTruth5802d ago

Weird how opinions on this vary so much! I bet if they did a poll on which FF game is the best, there would be no winner!

There's just no general consensus on this topic!

How the DMCA Laws Put Indie Developers at Risk

Filing a false DMCA claim costs nothing, requires no proof, and can destroy an indie game's launch in minutes. Fighting back can cost tens of thousands of dollars and take weeks (if you can afford it at all).

Copyright is copyright. DMCA is a good thing that protects creators IP., revenue and usage. and you can absolutely appeal a wrongful DMCA takedown. It’s happened to me. Was easily resolved.

VGMM89d ago

....I don't feel like you read the article, at all.

Seraphim89d ago

it's a good thing, but it's also long been reported, across a variety of industries and websites, that currently the system is ripe for and full of abuses. From fair use strikes, to matters like the one reported in this article. It's clear the law needs some tooth to punish bad actors and that parameters need to be set in how reports are filed; ie human review of said content and not some AI bot false flagging stuff. As is the system is far to easily abused by those who have motive to suppress and flag content they have no business or right to.

Commentby89d ago

No system will ever be perfect, but there needs to be a review, unless it blatant.

Nevers0ft88d ago

Until there's genuine consequences for this type of abuse, it'll keep happening across all media. DMCA is in principle a good thing, but it needs an overhaul.
