When fighting games went 3D, it was one of the reasons I stopped gaming for long time. My favorite franchise did this *cough* MK *cough*...

dredgewalker5822d ago

There's always Blaz Blu :)

Deathracer5822d ago

Hey hey, the new MK looks fucking sick. Its like they took the 2D game, made it 3D and added more blood and gore. Honestly going to be the first time I'm looking forward to a MK game in a while.

Well, I think I prefer 3D. I bought Super Street Fighter 4 a month ago and its frustrating as hell. Idk if thats because its 2D or just because its Street Fighter. Like, u literally have to spend hours upon hours practicing just to get good. Sorry, but that type of dedication and frustration isn't for me. I've never had a game other than Street Fighter that made me wanna go outside and get some tail lol.

@Wraith- Well, regarding ur first comment, I actually found MK vs. DC to be the most entertaining fighting game I've played this generation. Its very accessible and challenging at the same time. And the learning curve isn't steep like Street Fighter. I guess ur right...its a matter of taste.

Yeah, I guess its taste or what you've grown up playing. I'm an old school gamer, so you'd have to understand practically all games were 2D...minus Zelda, which I don't know what to call that type of game's dimensions.

and i prefer the new SF's to be honest. I do hate capcom though for there prices on DLC.

Really 4 costumes cost 3.99 how can you even justify that cost.

I admit though between sf4 and ssf4 i have over 300hrs of time played online so i love them to say the least

easily over 1000 games played

fyi didnt read the article but by seeing lower comments is this a real 3d thing or just a 3d charcter models?

I prefer 2D as well. The action seems more concentrated, faster, and the controls more precise. I remember avoiding jumping attacks in 3D, and shuffling to get in closer.

MK on 3D plane was terrible. Tekken on 3D plane is awesome! Budokai 3 is on a "2D" plane and it was damn good.

Blaz Blu >>>>> Street Fighter

I actually liked DBZ3 on my Famicom (aka SNES). Here: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

^this is slow. There's a way to make it really fast and damn, these guys suck!

Fighting games usually take a lot of concentration. So if you are seeing stuff come out at you, you will lose focus, and lose the match. Therefore, taking the fun out of games.

jeannine5822d ago

I like 2d better for the simple reason I don't want to have to wear glasses of any other type of head gear when playing a game

Hellas135822d ago (Edited 5822d ago )

out of subject

UnSelf5822d ago

actually he isnt.

just misinterpreted. in fact his definition of 3D is accurate. WE'RE the ones who are using it incorrectly

ilRadd5822d ago

Interesting take - I guess I prefer 2D as well, but I also like 3D fighting games.

GZ - #Tropico3

Damn, this guy was amazing and very courageous. It was unbelieveable how good he was at Street Fighter. Playing the game basically with his mouth. RIP.
