iGame Report:
I contacted Game Informer for the rumour about the printing of FFv13 going multi-format and this is the response they gave me:

Magazines can make mistakes sometimes. At least Game Informer confirmed it and didn't try to deny the mishap existed.

Shang-Long5810d ago

well they don't need to lie about such things. they are a well respected gaming magazine. so not admitting the mishap would lower their credibility.

DJexs5810d ago

its gamestops magazine. gamestop is the devil they over charge everything and sell your used games back to other people at 3x the price.

also isn't inquiry not enquiry?

Spydr075810d ago

No, it's not. It's inquiry. The confusion probably comes from the way some people carelessly pronounce inquire, "en-kwire", instead of, "in-kwire".

DJexs5810d ago

@Spydr07

you seem to misunderstood me I meant to say it how they wrote it they wrote it enquiry not inquiry.

BWS19825810d ago (Edited 5810d ago )

had their own identity back when it was them and Funcoland...I wouldn't call them "Gamestop's magazine" but I get what you're referring to.

That is more of a partnership IMO, rather than ownership, despite any official classifications that may exist behind the scenes. Game Informer is 16 years old or so...Gamestop, no...

The 360 would make this game turn to sh*t.

I'm glad it's staying exclusive on PS3.

SOAD5810d ago

You are starting to get as annoying as GreenRingofLife and Bungie. Please stop being a troll.

karl5810d ago

... your brother is only hated cuz he is minority.

CryofSilence5810d ago

That's because he IS both of them.

R0me5810d ago (Edited 5810d ago )

Can you tell me how you got these bubbles? Did you pay some money?

Edit: Oh, I get a disagree for asking how the biggest troll on N4G got bubbles? Wow, I see whats going wrong here.

Redrum0595810d ago

Indeed, owning up to the mistake is much better than trying to deny responsibility or keep stuff stired up on the net.

Snakefist305810d ago (Edited 5810d ago )

YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Hellyaaaa Finally Its An Exclusive To PS3.

vhero5810d ago

despair5810d ago (Edited 5810d ago )

title misleading, conformation that they have no clue if its going multiplat or not.

My money's on not.

@below
my bad missed that lol.

LordMarius5810d ago

that's why I put those " "

sikbeta5810d ago (Edited 5810d ago )

With the Amount of Stuff Nomura and Crowd are Putting on This Game which can Fill a BR-D so easy, it's really difficult to even think about a port, it'll be like +6DVDs if they dare to think about it...

Crystallis5810d ago

We still have heard this from the horses mouth but I have a gut feeling Noruma is keeping this exclusive...thank you Noruma!

-Alpha5810d ago

I don't really care if it's multiplat, unless it will sacrifice the game.

Just give me a damn good JRPG. I've been playing the PSOne games from PSN Store and they are amazing. They got the charm and fantasy world I love in RPGs and I just wish we could see more this generation.

despair5810d ago

i know what you mean, still wish i had my old PS1 and my very sizable collection of games :(

Megaton5810d ago (Edited 5810d ago )

PS1 probably has the highest concentration of killer JRPGs in the history of the genre. Even the SNES greats like Chrono Trigger and FFVI had PS1 ports. I think the best you'll find today are from Atlus, and on the PS2.

Shang-Long5810d ago

it would sacrifice the game. just some of the things they are talking about, seem like it would take alot of space.

you can explore as far as you can see. expect for the mountains. was one of the quotes.

that right there is amzaing all on its own. the game sounds and looks ( so far) to be that true JRPG like we used to get in the PSone days.

ruiner44825810d ago

I agree, but for the love of god they are horrid to look at on my beautiful plasma. I'm not a graphics whore but it's hard to look at and remember they used to be considered beautiful! Unwrapping FFVII from the plastic was like the 2nd coming of christ for me.

Newtype5810d ago

Probably because Sony's stock in SE is less than 10% now. Used to be higher back then.

NumeroUno5810d ago

The only "killer" JRPG of this age is probably Persona 4. Game is amazing, even on PS2, and still has elements and storytelling that the modern day games just can't grasp.

vhero5810d ago

And that entire catalogue of PS1 games are all playable on PS3 not 360 not Wii, PS3! So people who complain about no backwards compatability gotta remember it has some of the best ever library of RPGs ever made.

mastiffchild5809d ago

The things Nomura's been confirming for Versus make me feel that unless they get cut back there's little hope of a 360 port-it would take a shedload of DVDs wouldn't it? Unless they found a way to optimise code way beyond anything previously dreamed about at SE I fail to see a six disc FF game happening for the 360. I guess it's a trade off over whether the sales of FF13 were actually worthwhile after the extra royalties for the extra discs it took. If they made a bundle then maybe we'll see the game reduced in scale and that 360 port made-even if that would sell BOTH sets of gamers a little short. Also, would that affect the sales on PS3 to a greater extent than it did for FF13-once bitten and all that?

Whatever, Nomura's opened his mouth now and it can't be taken back so there's gonna be hell to pay if the features and game he's described don't appear and a port does, no? Another reason ?i think it should stay exclusive is as a reward to fans of SE who bought PS3 at launch when they were expensive purely because they trusted the "only on Plastation" marketing that followed FF13 and Versus for over three bloody years-I don't blame these people for feeling let down by SE whatsoever. It's the bane of this generation-dves and publishers moving the goalposts way, way after announcing a game will be on one platform or the other. If it's possibly gong multi say so at the initial announcement FFS and don't lead people on(like Japanese 360 owners and Tales for example or PC gamers who waited five years to be shafted over Alan Wake then given the crappiest explanation ever as a reason!)as it's not a good way to tre\at your consumers.

However, if there's a way to cater for 360 and PS3 gamers over Versus which means we all get the game in Nomura's head it would still be great if everyone could play it at some point-however, I just don't see it as possible with DVD9 and, mainly(as no DLC aid can be sought)because of Core and Arcade owners.

Namikaze_Minato5810d ago

360 will never get this game.

Thanks, Nomura.

Six Times When Games Turned Into A Horror Game

Ever play a game a game only to discover at some point it transforms into a horror game? No? Well Netto's Game Room shares six games that do just that!

Immediately thought of the El Dorado zombie dudes in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

raWfodog378d ago (Edited 378d ago )

Not necessarily a ‘horror’ moment, but I remember feeling really tense and anxious when the Flood were first introduced in the original Halo. I never felt more on edge or nervous in that whole game as that moment. I think it was the whole buildup that something terrible was coming but you didn’t know exactly what.

Another non-horror game that had me feeling it was Subnautica. The deep dark depths, and knowing that sea monsters were lurking nearby, had me jumping at every sound.

NettosGameRoom377d ago

That scene where you first see them attack is pretty crazy!

Relientk77377d ago

I remember being scared of the Asylum level in the most recent Thief game from 2014.

always liked 15, but the development was shch a shitshow. it could have been so much more.

but Tabata did a good job with what he had regardless

DivineHand125512d ago

Ff15 was a missed opportunity from square as they transitioned from turn based to real time.

One of the issues is that it was 30 fps. The combat mechanics required precision dodges to activate Noctis teleport ability and it was difficult to do at 30 fps. I am glad they rectified that in FF16. The story and flow also felt like it went through a chopshop similar to how some live service games end up when they are trying to meet a deadline. Those extra episodes they sold as dlc should have been in the maingame.

FF15 is one of the weaker entries in the series.

Z501512d ago

Dodges don't activate the teleport ability. Teleport was R1 + O. Dodge was just the O button. Explain the Black Hood (the item that automatically Dodges for you)

TheNamelessOne512d ago

Ah yes; FF XV.
The beginning of me coming to the realization the series was no longer for me.

Michiel1989512d ago

16 was a lot better, I think 15 was just a big mess with how development went and all. The music though, one of the best in the series, probably the only reason I finished the game.

Cacabunga512d ago

At least FF15 had RPG elements . 16 was just an action game from beginning to end.

Michiel1989512d ago

I rather have a good action game than a bad rpg with 2 button combat

Cacabunga511d ago (Edited 511d ago )

Then call it something else then FF. I got scammed with FF16. Nothing of what i expected it to be.
Even the action is bad in it, especially after the demo section where absolutely nothing happens until the very end.

FF15 isnt a great game but it has some variety at least.

CrimsonWing69512d ago

That initial trailer with the Leviathan fight was the game I wish we got. The actual retail release was watchdogged to all Hell and while there’s enjoyment to be had in the game, it’s such an incomplete product and so many elements feel so slapped together without any cohesion.

Like, don’t get me wrong, I loved fishing, cooking, and the first third of the game, but I much rather they made a story that didn’t feel barely there and the the last third of the game didn’t feel so rushed and unfinished.

Becuzisaid511d ago

Every time a party member left for a period of time screamed future paid dlc. It was horrible.

Imagine Dagger and Steiner making the party go to sleep in Lindblum in FF9 disc 1 and then taking off to Alexandria by foot themselves, but then never playing their side of the adventure in disc 2 when they smuggle her through the South Gate in pickles, take the cable car and fight the Waltz, head to Treno and start the quest to find Supersoft. They just eventually reunite with the main party in the future without explanation of what went on in their adventure.

Or Sephiroth's backstory in the famous Kalm flashback being added as a dlc pack. Same goes for Vincent, Cid, or Yuffie for that matter.

Oh and anything to do with Jenova, the Ancients, Aerith, her mom and Gast, shoved into a 2 hour CG movie or 5 hour anime ministries that's considered required viewing for anything in the main game to make sense or have characters actually be interesting.

I enjoyed FF15 at the time, and finished it, but it's bright spots are marred by a bad development cycle and a worse marketing scheme.

CrimsonWing69511d ago

What’s sad is when I watched a vid on the entire story (that wasn’t properly told in the actual game)!it was really solid and could’ve been one of the most epic stories in any FF. I think a lot of the compilation and cross-media stuff really f*cked it all up.

gurp512d ago

FFXV was underrated in my opinion
I have played all of the final fantasy games, and I loved this game
turn based to me takes too long, I like active battle
the extra dlc and chapters should have been included in the original release, but it is nice that they fixed the game later

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion764d ago (Edited 764d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled764d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?
