Id like to see a tri monthly or yearly plan for subscribing to a MMO. Even maybe let us pay one price to play both The Agency and DCU Online. They could make it a little higher than a single game subscription but including more than one game would be great.

The thing about this that strikes me as funny is that SONY had a "free2play" server solution proposed using PS3 clusters but it never really catches on with MMO developers.

I refuse to believe that The Agency or DC Universe Online will maintain the amount of free updates that a game like WoW, Final Fantasy XIV, or even Everquest would.

So why should I pay the same amount? Live-action game-play is a huge plus but live-action players don't usually stick to one game for long periods of time and this needs to be addressed when you specifically target the market.

At least a discount off the service or PS+ should give you options on what you want to do like pick if you want free games etc or free monthly discription/discount on a MMO you have etc. I think that be a perfect idea would give better incentive to have people play MMOs on the ps3 rather than PC.

I was so hoping that DCUO would be free to play. They should definately add this to ps+

that would be awesome and would seal up a psn+ purchase for me. like the article mentioned there is gonna be a lot of competition in the mmo space and ppl usually dont pay for more than one.

Wish DCUO was F2P, I was under the impression it would be. I doubt it will have the depth of other mmo's that charge 14.99 monthly... I might do it but currently I'm not going to pick this title up.

They should have made new areas/expansions for a price other than a sub fee, this would give people the choice to buy more without feeling a grip of a monthly fee.

Pay $50 a year for free access to MMO's that normally cost $15 per month... Yeah I don't see that happening. The best case scenario is we get a minor discount.

it could work if they approach it in the right angle PSN+ member get F2P version of any mmo on the platform but left micron transaction of premium items are left to player to buy that way everybody wins

while paying for an MMO subscription isn't terrible, it is when you factor in two people.

it's bad enough i have to buy a second PS3 (damn economy has kept me from picking one up for my wife right now). that's $300.

THEN i have to buy two copies of the game (in this case, DC Universe Online is the MMO me and my wife want to play together). that's $120.

THEN, i have to pay $30 a month for subscriptions for me and my wife. that's $360 a year, JUST so we can play an MMO together.

that's the cost of 6 extra video games i could be playing instead. to play ONE MMO with my wife, i have to sacrifice 6 other games.

that would have meant, no Heavy Rain this year. no White Knight Chronicles. no Mass Effect 2. no God of War 3. no 3D Dot Game Heroes. no Red Dead Redemption. well FUCK THAT.

i'm not going to sacrifice Killzone 3, Twisted Metal, The Last Guardian, inFAMOUS 2, Uncharted 3, or Final Fantasy VS XIII next year, just so me and my wife can play DC Universe Online.

the game doesn't hit for another 4 months, and i think there's always a chance that SOE will take into consideration the feedback they've been getting, and come up with a more reasonable pricing structure, or eliminate it all together.

it's going to take more than Superman to go up against World of Warcraft. i know they're different genres, but the MMO market is supremely competitive. Guild Wars has as many subscribers (of which i'm one of them), because it is FREE to play. Free Realms (of which i've also played a little of), is another free one.

The Agency will be free to play, so why not DCUO? i know SOE has to make money, but there are LOTS of other ways they can do it besides highway robbery every month.

i'm on shaky ground when it comes to my finances, and i can't spend as much on games as i used to. i already bought way too many in the first 6 months of the year, and there's still more to come.

DCU Online is on a "holding pattern" in terms of my purchasing intent. other games have now been shifted to the forefront. that's a real shame for SOE.
