Heavy Rain DLC On Indefinite Hold

When Heavy Rain was released, the plan was that it would be followed by a series of downloadable episodes. The first of these was an episode called The Taxidermist, and here the journalist Madison Page was sneaking around in the home of another scary person of the same type that we remember from the main game.

They are definitely pursuing this Move for adult gamers idea. I hope they can make it work. It'd be good for the industry.

Theparanerds5813d ago

that sucks i wanted more DLC , i mean the game doesn't have that much replay value and dlc would have been nice additions.

Wrathman5813d ago

how do you take a story that was pretty much conclusive in its ending and drag out dlc?

maddhatter1235813d ago

the same way alan wake does it.

GameOn5813d ago

The Alan wake ending (I actually liked the ending) was left quite open. The darkness is still out there.

Think I might start playing through that again now you got me thinking bout it.

Lionhead5813d ago

how do you take a Wrathman that is pretty much trolling in every topic and get rid of him?

mastemikegee5813d ago

so you played it once and that's it? the whole point of Heavy Rain is playing it more than once to get out the differences. even the endings are different! Heavy Rain demands u play it more than once!

so... I'm not so sure there isn't enough replay value. really it comes down to re-watching a movie and u know how it's gonna end. but with Heavy Rain there's always a few surprises.

however yes it would be awesome to have some DLC simply because Heavy Rain was a great experience. Can't wait for the next Quantic Dream game.

No Replay?

Play it once and enjoy it.
Play it a couple of times and get the trophies.
Persue the Perfect Crime trophy and experience a whole new game.

reason for this could be for Move support the game is getting.

I’m reminded of some of the alternate endings in the Suffering games.

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe2014d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG2013d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman2013d ago (Edited 2013d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.
