TM was never about graphics, it was always about gameplay, presentation and above all-else; FUN.

People slamming TM-PS3's graphics need a check up from the f%cking neckup.

The storage space and PS3's hardware will probably be utilized to create a lot on screen and the graphics are still going to be polished.

I expect TM-PS3 to be one of those games where gameplay suppresses the graphics whore in me.

Seeing the core team working on this new TM for PlayStation 3 reminds me why I went with the PlayStation brand, more than a decade ago.
It was one of the games the differentiated the console from the rest of the pack.

I grew up on TM2 all the way up to twisted metal black. I even played the psp TM head-on which was also great.

Twisted metal for ps3 is NOT underwhelming its OVERWHELMING on how much fun it will be especially with the new nuke mode and faction based multiplayer.

As a long time twisted metal player I honestly can not wait for this game. Looks like how a twisted metal game for the ps3 should look like.

I am personally i HUGE twisted metal fan and after watching the interview with jaffe during the 25 minutes showing gameplay and answering questions I am ABSOLUTELY PSYCHED for this game

Jaffe is the original creator and he is DIRECTLY on hand he wont let this turn out bad!

The vehicle physics and animations of the cars in twisted metal are the worst i have ever seen!! It looks so bad and unnatural, they might as-well be driving spaceships because those cars don't act like cars.
Get proper car physics and it would be a seriously fun game!!

Jaffee decided to show off a new mode they are working on & some car models.
What I saw graphically was pre pre pre alpha footage of giant maps, traffic, pedestrians & so much more going on.

Are journalist just saying they would have just been happy with a teaser trailer? Jaffee underestimated the maturity of journalist. When jaffee decides to give you guys some screenshots in a few weeks there will be no doubt how graphically beautiful your next gen twisted metal will be.

my preference is the ps but ive never been a fan of twisted metal. If i had to look at this from a super neutral standpoint it just looks ok and its still early. Lets see if a bit of elbow grease can smarten it up before release.....when is that anyway. If this looks underwhelming then what about crackdown 2....I hate deflecting but who come there's no article about that game and its closer to being released. I thought the graphics could have looked better. The world seemed a little bland and the destruction elements were kinda last gen. Then again it is somewhat early in development. Which means plenty of time to upgrade the visuals. Either way it doesn't matter to me I never liked the other games back in the day. Just wanted to give my two cents.

Alan Wake.. He is comparing a game that was in development for like 3-4 years and was average at best in graphics and gameplay and has since faded into the background..

I can pretty much guarantee that TW3 will be way more fun than Alan wake..

Twisted Metal in my opinion has never had great "realistic" graphics.. That wasnt what the game was about.. TM Black had average graphics but it was the art direction and gameplay that mattered..

This guy is the only person who could be underwhelmed from Twisted Metal. Well him and every other flaming-console-war-addict-wan nabe-trolling-faggot-who-has-cl early-never-played-a-twisted-me tal-game-in-their-entire-existe d-of-colossal-feces. Twisted Metal brings back such great memories and all the kids who have never played Twisted Metal 3 or 4, or even Black, are missing out on so much fun. The new Twisted Metal does not disappoint and its going to be a first day buy for me. Im sure MANY others will follow me on my journey to Excitement Heaven on this games release.

as for Twisted Metal PS3, seeing it in person at E3 pumped me up for the game.

the videos don't do it justice (like most vids these days).

seeing the game actually running on a PlayStation 3 makes a big difference.

even Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines looks WAAAY BETTER when running on the system than the trailer they released.

I don't think he's a troll or microsoft slave like gizmodo. I think he's being relatively honest. I hear people bashing games and their reasons don't make sense. I think twisted metal looks amazingly fun and unusual for this gen. A freeway with real traffic common that's crazy in the same sense of a grand theft auto. But it does'nt have the polish you usually see from a sony game. Through the hype of how fun the game looked at first I didn't notice it but looking carefully I see it now. The good thing is theres still alot of time left in development.

I actually liked that the graphics reminded me of TM2 and Black. But I do recall reading a article here a few days ago stating they were shooting for a teen rating. That could mean......uhh you dont make a violent car combat game with "Uncharted" like graphics......

Still. KZ3 takes the crown for best looking game of E3. it was just amazing

I'd have to agree, Twisted Metal is not something fun to watch. Playing it at E3, it didn't even play like fun. Graphics we're pretty cool, especially considering it's not final code.

It's just not my kind of game, I think.

I've watched every video I can find that has gameplay footage of Twisted metal at least three or four times each. Not because I'm critiquing, but because I'm in AWE of just how polished and FUN this game looks. I went in to this whole thing knowing that you can't have a game like twisted metal look like Gran Turismo 5. Twisted Metal has about two thousand more things happening at once compared to Gran Turismo, but to say that I haven't seen the slightest hiccup in framerate or pop-in is extremely impressive. It looks brilliant and I cannot WAIT until next year!!

It was pretty much the funnest game on the E3 2010 floor, and definitely isn't underwhelming.

I guess ppl will see twisted metal ps3 as a fanservice game, where mostly ppl who heard of the ones in the past and played them and didnt mind them.. those are the ones that would enjoy tm ps3.

But the true-fans who played most of them will be use to the gameplay just better graphics, and same intense action just tweaked.

Also the stories for each driver... that'll be fun too im sure some will just enjoy the characters stories and do online after they have unlocked all drivers and watched all stories.

I wouldn't consider this trolling. It did look pretty underwhelming. While I'm sure it's more fun to play than watch, the graphics look pretty PS2 era, or 2005 xbox era, and there just doesn't seem to be much new going on. It looks like PS1 gameplay. If you like it, go for it, but don't question people who have actually PLAYED it when you haven't.

nah i agree, for several reasons....

1) The only TM game i've played was Head On for the psp (so not been a follower of the franchise)
2) It looks very rough around the edges. Yes i know it's early days but seeing a helicoptor fly into a building and the building explode and dissapear instantly reminded me of the ps2 days.

The gameplay looks fun, but i just think for such a big playstation brand it has nothing on some of sony's other games such as kz and uncharted

Twisted Metal will be one of the few games I play online, I remember just playing the near endlessly because it was soo much fun.

Twisted Metal was my first game i got along with my first console a Playstation on my 5th birthday. I picked the game out because I liked the red car, semi truck and the ice cream truck with a flaming clown head on top. I’ve heen a hardcore gamer ever since. I’ve boughten every Twisted Metal game and every playstation at least once. PS3 and TM2 are my favorites of those franchises although I love all of my Playstation consoles and even the psp, and I love all the TM games in the series, yes even TM3,4 and small brawl.

Ever since I heard about the message in Twisted Metal: Head On extra twisted edition saying Twisted Metal is on PSthree, a TM game for the PS3 has been my most anticipated game. You should have seen me from the time the taxi driver in the Twisted Metal debut trailer said car combat on the playstation until about 10 minutes after sony’s press conference was over when I started to calm down a little.

I hope i can get my hands on this game early because sometime in 2011 can’t come quick enough. As soon as i get this game i will play through as many story modes as i can until i can’t stay awake any longer. Then when i wake up the game will be released and i will try out the online modes for the first time and play them and move up the ranks until I get to permanantly play as Sweet Tooth every waking second that playing i’m not playing single player or not in class. I start this fall at Southern Polytech. I’m going to get my game design degree and i hope to follow in Jaffe’s footsteps. I’m a huge God Of War fan as well.

Has anyone else seen the 25 minute video that was on N4G last night of David Jaffe playing and commentating on the new Twisted Metal and he said there would be ranking up similar to Call Of Duty. I am excited about the story modes but at the time i am much more excited for the flaming chainsaws I mean the multiplayer modes considering that’s all we know about the game. David Jaffe has pulled off many spectacular single player games but I dont know if Calling All Cars had multiplayer modes or not I haven’t bought that game yet. I’m also not sure if he had anything to do with Twisted Metal Black: Online or the multiplayer modes in Twisted Metal: Head On. I have faith that with the technology of the PS3 and the brilliant mind of David Jaffe this could the PS3’s best game, Jaffe’s best game and GOTY 2011!

It hasnt even been a week since it's been revealed David Jaffe says he and his team will reveal more characters,factions, MP modes, and I'm hoping the story modes will have plenty of characters from TM1, 2 and Black and beginning,middle and end movies like in black. This game WILL NOT dissapoint!!!

well to be honest , i wasnt a Twisted Metal fan last generation , the franchise never got my attention , dont know why , same thing happened with fps games , didnt like them now i do but they r not my favorites by any means well to the point , i was happy to see sony announcing a new game but i wasnt so excited because it was Twisted Metal ( i wanted it to be Syphon Filter or MediEvil ) ( even though Sorcery have that look like MediEvil lol ) anyways after the sony press conference i went to try all the games and to my surprise the most fun i had was with Motorstorm Apocalypse ( which btw looks spectacular in 3D ) and Twisted Metal ( its extremely fun ) now i cant wait to have the those games on my ps3 , yes i did played Killzone 3 , Gran Turismo 5 , God of War Ghost of Sparta( man i can already tell that it will best Chains of Olympus ) , Socom 4, Little Big Planet 2 and others but the 2 most fun games i played were Motorstorm and Twisted Metal ( they are awesome )

Twisted Metal is fun,though me personally I have never been a HUGE fan.The people who loved TM back in the days will love this game,I'm sure I'll still find it enjoyable,shit who knows,maybe i'll fall in love with the new one depending on how it is.But don't call a game that is still in developement underwhelming,you haven't played the final product...

This game will become a strong seller as long as they can get the multiplayer to be really addictive and fun and balanced, with Killzone-esque clan creation etc. The emphasis on teamwork in the online modes and the inclusion of the helicopter really appeals to me. This is the first time the series has really been able to shine online, and it seems like his team is doing what it takes to ensure the multiplayer has depth to it and remains enjoyable for many months/years after release.

The other half of it is that they also need to make plenty of destructable/modifiable areas with big explosions like the Paris level in TM2, and make them strategic to the maps.

Jaffe has a good mind for an online multiplayer experience based on what I saw from the E3 demo he did backstage as well as his comment going back to earlier this year. I haven't played Warhawk, but people who were into that game and awaiting word of Starhawk; you might want to look into this game as a serious temporary (or permanent) substitute. Twisted Metal was always meant to be played online.

The build was early in development. If you were underwhelmed, then wait til 2011, when the game has more to offer.

I personally love everything I've seen so far in this game. It blows my mind how polished this game is at such an early level of development.

Twisted Metal and underwhelming can't go in same sentence

The game doesnt look very good at all to me, but Im aware that its not done.

I loved the first two Twisted Metal Games, the others... not so much. I thought Black was pretty crap, and the new one doesen't look very good to me either. Could be wrong but I have lost interest after seeing the demo footage from E3.

Certainly in comparison to alot of the other games being shown. The game, visually, doesn't look up to the mark with other ps3 exclusives which is a shame concidering in the same amount of time this has been in development, Killzone 2's engine was already looking great. In addition the demo shown was buggy and the gameplay looked overly arcade like.
However I never played any of the previous installments so wasn't driven by the announcement as others were.

on the original play station it will be a lot of fun. Multiplayer in this game will be a blast. I owned the original and there was nothing like it at the time.

Let's just wait and see how popular TM online remains.

Especially competing against KZ3, R3, Starhawk, Battlefield games, MOH, COD games, etc.

Jaffe should have made a third person shooter/action game, alternative world, wacky characters, bad-ass enemies sadistic weapons, mega-violence(at least same as Gears or God of War3).

But for some reason, he thought a vehicle combat game will draw in the masses. Let's watch and see.

The Twisted Metal series has never been about stellar graphics. I want the game to stick to its roots by being absolutely fast, insane, and downright pure action packed fun. That is why I liked the series and very pumped for this game.

it would be nice if rumble rumbles lightly depends how u are going at a slow speed, and if u go super fast the controller rumbles with a nice steady rumble.

I wasn't because David Jaffe said he wasn't going to even show a game and I basicly lost all hope of a new Twisted Metal game but he ended up showing it right before the Sony press conference was about to end!

Well everyone of this generation kiss there fps and tps ass so much that they expect all games to look like that even if TM style is always a cartoon, that is its art style and it is actually very clean and lots of effect. And this is pre alpha and Sta Monica is behind them so expect much better. Some of you are just jealous that you don't have enough exclusive and will just stick to your soccer moms toy kinetic.

I wasnt at all impressed by the twisted metal presentation at sony's E3. I liked sorcery better, even if it looked like a harry potter copycat, but the gameplay looked awesome and it sold me MOVE better than any other game Ive seen. Hopefully its as good as it looks.

Twisted metal?? I know they tried to make a big fuzz with the truck and the clown and everything, but to me it was all, meeeeh... not impresive.

Some good games. I own both of them. I do find it funny that people see the value in this but not on gamepass.🤷‍♂️ But be careful because according to some this teaches you not to buy games.

Even as a kids game Bluey looks like such a bad game but if you have kids and have been telling them to buy any ither good game with their pocket money like astro instead of bluey they can finally get it and stop asking about it everytime they see it.
