Heavenly Sword demo'd

JOYSTIQ: "That was it...? As the most significant chunk of data to hit PSN since Gran Turismo HD (CAC didn't live up to the hype), and weighing in at 996 MB, the Heavenly Sword demo merely offers a beefy pinch of tease. Call us biased. We are. At E3 we were able to play well past where this demo ends, and we've had the itch ever since."

Continued after the jump.

And camera isn't perfect, no first person view so we can't admire the beautiful landscape. But still good gameplay.

Marceles6871d ago

I guess that was the whole point of the demo being short, to make us really hungry for more...and it sure did work

lesbiansonyfan-girl6871d ago (Edited 6871d ago )

Good! the demo is all the more you could ever want of this game.
LOL now everyone is agreeing with what I said a week ago an attacked for. THis game is just hack and slash repetitive clone crap, not even good for a PS3 game.

LeonSKennedy4Life6871d ago

but...it's not a repetitive hack 'n slash. Where did you come up with that?

If this is repetitive hack 'n slash, then Ninja Gaiden is just a terrible game all-around.

VaeVictus6871d ago

It was a short demo but an impressive one. I thought the gameplay was terrific. I was up in the air about this game, but it looks like a solid buy now. Beautiful graphics, fun gameplay, I only wish it were longer.

EZCheez6871d ago

Do not bother replying to "lesbiansonyfangirl" . This is just "Sonyfan's" second (possibly more) account. His tactics are the same and it is already a waste to read his comments, even more to reply. I know that's exactly what I am doing, but I am trying to save everyone else the time and intelligence wasted on this guy.

akaFullMetal6871d ago

downloading now, but heard it was short :( o well just got to buy the game

Blackmoses6871d ago

yeah...it may have been short but, it was beautiful! I found myself playing four to five times afterwards jsut to see if what I could do differently.

It really is a beautiful game...very impressive!

Scrumptious6871d ago

Agree with you moneybags...a good game. better graphics than God of Waar, but weaker controls. I wish they could replace the camera shoulder buttons with a block button. Trying to block to match the attacking enemies color will take getting used to. A good game that wets my appetite for PS3 God of War.

BTW, I still have your game and have been itching to watch that movie again.

Caxtus7506871d ago

well i have only played it a bit..and it looks lovely! PErsonally i didnt rate the gameplay too much and think its a rather overhyped hack n slash...Id rather play Ninja Gaiden...or is it just me?

Bebedora6871d ago

I must say I feel like you there. Just demo wise. NGS demo was more responsive.

HS is very nice and perty though.

nurayi6871d ago

the movement may not be as responsive, but the combat sure is. its just as deep and you can mix and match combos. try switching stances mid combo for instance ;)

just defeated NGS so I was hoping for atleast harder difficulty settings for the demo. anyway the closest thing to a boss you can find is if you dont kill the first guy in the QTE. just dont hit the button.

sandip7876871d ago

i played through it 3 times and i thought it was great everytime.

PlayStation 3 Games That Desperately Need a PS5 Remaster

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.

Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!

Rude-ro801d ago

I played killzone 3 in 3d and it really changed the game per being immersive.
In vr, that would be even more awesome.

darthv72801d ago

Funny you mention that... my son wanted to play some PS3 games in 3d on my PS tv and he was blown away by how good KZ3 was. It really was a great addition to the game. Im surprised there have not been more 3d games from that era being ported to the PSVR/VR2.

_SilverHawk_801d ago

resistance 1-3, killzone 1-3, uncharted 1-3, uncharted golden abyss, folklore, socom 4 , motorstorm, twisted metal, MAG, heavenly sword

Cacabunga801d ago

Killzone 2+3
Sly Thieves in Time
Crack in Time
God of War Ascension
Motorstorm
Modnation racer
Infamous 1+2

Profchaos801d ago (Edited 801d ago )

Killzone trilogy in VR would be amazing bonus points if they offer shadow fall.

There was a psvr1 Killzone project that supermassive was working on at one stage which wasn't up to scratch and Sony brand it back in house I was hoping we would see that on psvr2 eventually.

Personally I'd love to see some more love or acknowledgement of psvr2 from Sony in general it was a expensive headset and Sony barely acknowledge it's existence

seanpitt23801d ago

The amount of work needed to remaster these games wouldn't be beneficial on a financial and business sense.. MGS4 would probably be the best bet as it would need the least amount of work!

Iceball2000801d ago

YEAAASSSSS! I miss this franchise and wanna play it so bad again.

Father__Merrin801d ago

The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer

InUrFoxHole801d ago

The resistance series is str8 trash to me. Socom 3 I would welcome. Or killzone MP.

Marcus Fenix801d ago

A Resistance reboot will be awesome

Michiel1989801d ago

That's what Bungie should make, Ill keep saying it until it happens

1Victor801d ago (Edited 801d ago )

Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

Michiel1989801d ago

Resistance was the best co-op fps I ever played after L4D2

Dante's inferno... an excellent GoW inspired game. So sad the sequels will never be.

LoveSpuds1304d ago (Edited 1304d ago )

I recall enjoying it well enough at the time, but it wasn't a patch on God of War 3 which came out around the same time I think.

I own it and fired it up on my PS3 about 6 months ago and time hadn't been particularly kind to it although it still very much nailed the atmosphere and it is a cool as he'll setting and universe.

Inverno1304d ago

Dante's Inferno needs the GOW treatment. No cut camera, with a real hellish depiction of the 9 circles and a story as dark and as serious would be amazing.

Yui_Suzumiya1304d ago

Still pretty amazing there was a PSP version that was actually pretty good. I remember playing it 10 years ago. I had the PS3 version when it first came out and loved it.

Hellcat20201304d ago

Ahh the memories of playing Heavenly Sword
Such a amazing experience

LoveSpuds1304d ago

Yup, I remember being blown away with Heavenly Sword. I remember holding out hope that they would go back and add trophy support as a incentive to go back and replay the game, but I don't think they ever did?

Yui_Suzumiya1304d ago

I couldn't beat the final boss though! Spent several days trying but eventually gave up, lol. Still enjoyed it though.

refocusedman1304d ago

heavenly sword was such a short, but amazing game. that game should be prime material to be made into a download only remaster.

YoungKingDoran1304d ago

I really enjoyed Castlevania, but struggled to get into it again reattempting it a few years back. I still think it does another of things well; story, presentation, level varietily and art style at least. Gameplay maybe has not stood test of time unfortunately which makes it a chore to get through.
