And all this after last years worst kept secret trophy with the PSP Go. All I can say is Twisted Metal is a day one purchase for me and kudos to Dave for keeping one of the best kept secrets for Sony ever. Only secret to rival it is the Portal secret and the apologies from Gabe. What an E3 this was!

bjornbear5816d ago

smartest buildup

they shocked eveyone announcing 4 new exclusives before E3, and they STILL had two behemoth announcements behind the curtain.

thats what made it up for me (and many others) in relation to the boring-yet-convincing hour of move (zzZzzZzZZZZzZ -_-)

Deathracer5816d ago

It wasn't really much of a secret as the new TM game was heavily rumored for weeks and weeks leading up to E3 along with a pic of some developer working on what was thought to be a new TM. Portal 2 and Gabe on the other hand was a pretty big shocker.

Brewski0075816d ago

Im gonna stay up till 3am playing this game getting a trophy that isn't real......BUT IS!!!

dangert125816d ago

Its odd the ps3 is suppose to be hard to devlop for still there grind out GOTY contenders every with every 18mpoth devlopment period i think vavle were just lazy 2bf

Palodios5816d ago

What else has Eat Sleep Play been doing in the 18 months between Calling all Cars and then?

vhero5816d ago

Well duh is all most of us will say. He has been teasing us for all 18 of those blasted months too the sick b*****d!

avengers19785816d ago

Yes day one, but in the era of 5 year developments and 2 or 3 years devs, this doesn't matter.

So he has about a year to add the polish to his game and it already looks sweet.

Never played Twisted Metal but I must say that I'm excited to check it out!

solidjun55816d ago

If you have the 60 GB model, you should really try Twisted Metal Black. I'm sure you could find it somewhere in gamespot for like 9 dollars. But it's really good if you want to get into it.

If sony releases this via the God of War collection treatment, then that would be effin sweet.

ElementX5816d ago

I had a 60Gb model but I never owned any Ps2 games so I sold that console to my bro-in-law who has a large collection of Ps2 games. He does have a Ps2 I could borrow, though :)

PopEmUp5816d ago

you should try it out then

Wow cyberpunk is a great pick up. If you haven’t played it you should definitely give it a try

Christopher317d ago

Banishers was dragged down by the need to go back to old areas multiple times.

GhostScholar317d ago

Also if you bought it at launch and couldn’t deal with all the bugs it’s a totally different game now

stupidusername317d ago

Played it on release and thought it was a mess. But I'm currently playing it again now on both PS5 and Switch 2 with cross save progression, and it's really different to how I remember it. Really enjoying it now, and it's really polished and immersive.

Despite owning the 2077 One X console and the steelbook edition of the game... i still have never played it. I may actually give 2077 a try (via the portal) as there has been so much talk about it again, thanks to SW2 and now this comparison vid from DF. https://youtu.be/SvGQik3m6a...

dveio318d ago (Edited 318d ago )

I think it's an okay decision or happening.

iirc, wasn't there even a new and probably last update coming soon announced recently?

I've never played 2077, neither. (I am still a bit mad about their ... well, anyway.)

But I think it can't get better to play that game, or any game for that matter, in a 100% complete, fully updated build.

DivineHand125318d ago

Cyberpunk and Risk of rain 2 are the best of the bunch. Not a bad month if you are one of the few that haven't played those games.

yeastori317d ago

Cyberpunk is probably one of the best games I've ever played, even when it came out with all the bugs and glitches and broken gameplay on consoles, I still loved it at its core because the world was exactly what I wanted in a dystopian vision of the real future and the story was actually well done and compelling. With the fixes and then Phantom Liberty I just knew that this game could've been GOTY winner if it hadn't been released too early and released on PS5. XBX and two years later.

shinXseijuro317d ago

Might give cyberpunk a chance now that the game redeemed itself . Is it only the basic game or with the newer content ?

xHeavYx317d ago

According to the article, it's just the base game, but the DLC will be 30% off

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Cacabunga599d ago

Last one on ps4 wasn’t good at all.
Hoping for some good reboot or remake of the first 3

Dagexon599d ago

You mean the one on ps3?

Cacabunga599d ago

Yes i do, thanks! I realized too late couldn’t edit

Lego 2K Drive features an exciting mode called Brick Brawl, inspired by Twisted Metal. Players can create, share, and upload various cars, including ones like Sweet Tooth. The game boasts thousands of custom cars, ranging from the Batmobile to the Sweet Tooth ice cream truck.

InUrFoxHole600d ago

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series

TiredGamer599d ago (Edited 599d ago )

TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.

Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.

InUrFoxHole599d ago

Lol, nice! I remember having the tiger handheld or watch..

FinalFantasyFanatic599d ago

I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.

UltimateOwnage599d ago

Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.

Snookies12599d ago

Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.
