GI: Your first two Xbox 360 efforts were huge successes internationally. The first one was Dead Rising, which was a big hit. There was a story in Famitsu about Dead Rising 2, and then it was dismissed as a rumor. Is there anything you can bring to light about that?
Inafune: This is something we hear a lot from the press-Dead Rising 2, and we're not making it right now, but it is something I would love to make. I would love to be able to take some time off from my business-side responsibilities just to be able to produce it myself-that's how much I love the game and would love to do it. But there are a lot of things that come into play. There's staffing, there's scheduling-who's working on what-then there's budget and money, where's the money coming from? So there are a lot of small things to work out before that would even be possible.

Ecco the Dolphin is returning, with original creators confirming multiple new games and related projects now in development.
Loved Ecco on Megadrive/Genesis. Diving out of the water was always a fun feeling, and the whole 'vibe' while playing/exploring was pretty chill and special.
Always hoped we'd get a proper 3D sequel with modern-tech water-graphics and physics. (Same wish for Wave Racer btw).
That is amazing news. Keep it level based or metroidvania but dont go the roguelike route and it should be good.
That brings me back. I know I have a couple copies on Sega consoles but they’re in a box somewhere.
I may check out a new game if done well

November 2025 is the 61st month the PlayStation 5 has been available for. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 5 when compared to the aligned launch of the PlayStation 3 by 1.57 million units.
In the last 12 months, the PS5 has grown its lead over the PS3 by 3.31 million units. The PlayStation 5 is currently ahead by 28.11 million units.
PS3 got a bad rap because of the price. I bought it day one (I was very lucky). A Blu-ray player was more expensive than the PS3 at the time around 800$+
Good to see there is an improvement despite the challenges plaguing this generation.
At the end of year 5, the ps3 received a pricecut making the 160GB model $250 and the 320G GB model $300.
I miss those days when there was not so much demand for microchips and the prices of things generally came down.
Now everything seems to be a smart device with very few companies to supply the needed chips.
Why compare to the PS3? The machine was a total abortion.
Comparing to 4 would be best being it’s the previous generation and was hugely successful.
we should also not forget what shitstorm the ps3 got cause of the price bk then
it was still a phenomenal console

Former Playground Games veterans Gavin Raeburn, Jon Davis-Hunt and Marco Conti reflect on Forza Horizon’s origins and how it “beat every other driving franchise out there.”
