Activision greedy on Move/Kinect support

Activision has stated that they won't be making any games dedicated to Move or Kinect, before they know they will be profitable enough. (basically what they said without the glamour)

Please die.

You lost your fanbase long ago, maybe you can go wreck some other industry instead of this one before it was even fully recognized?

while i do agree that activision is an A$$ company they are making more sense right now than all those other devs that are so quick to throw their BS casual crap into the ring without even knowing if the stadium will be full

Olly5742d ago (Edited 5742d ago )

Agreed, stop demonising them. They're a company, they owe you nothing. And this is a sound business idea anyway.
I am more replying to those above you btw.

Davoh5742d ago

Events being Games. Obviously the more events there are the more people would turn up to the stadium. You don't fill the stadium before having the events ready.

WhatARump5742d ago

I'd say that is "smart" rather than greedy.

I sure as hell wouldn't run into a dark cave unless I knew exactly what was in there and could guarantee my safety.

Davoh5742d ago

People being Games. Obviously the more people there are the better the chance of successfully navigating the cave. =D

WhatARump5742d ago (Edited 5742d ago )

Well then you would all get stuck in the mouth of the cave x)
If a large group ran in, without complete organization, they would get stuck!

You've got a point though but I'd still let other people go in before me ;)

Tommykrem5742d ago

Well, someone has to contribute to make the device popular. -.-

WhatARump5741d ago

you're right someone has to contribute, but you shouldn't flame others for not contributing!

they lost their fan base but gained "mindlesss sheeps"

kewlkat0075742d ago

like they know business and how the industry runs. Some things about capitalism will never change....

rezzah5742d ago

Theyre fanbase is those who just play games for the titles, not because of who did what to who. Example, my brothers and everyone else i know who plays videos games. Why? Because they dont pay attention to the gameing industry and just play games for what they are.

- Sorry, double post -

Activision don't want to risk their money to make Sony/MS stuff successful - that's no surprise.

However, from a technical viewpoint, this affects MS worse because as we've seen PS Move is easier to integrate into existing games while Kinect games have to built ground up for the device.

Still, I'm sure Sony and/or MS will kick them cash to bring something out - Move support in CoD and probably a fitness thing for Kinect.

r.

Excalibur5742d ago

In that head line would have sufficed. ;)

divideby05742d ago

Act. just sucks.....its another company which goes out of its way to screw gamers.
I can see their stand, not to make games for these devices until they see it worth their while. Thats fair.. But they are still are a greedy and a company I go out of my way not to purchase games they are part of

Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.

Microsoft needs to listen or risk irreparable harm to Call of Duty

Windows Central: "The money may keep rolling in, but Microsoft is the custodian of one of the biggest selling video game series in history. If something doesn't change, I fear we'll reach a breaking point and irreparable damage will have been done."

Because ms is so good at managing studios, surely they will get it right

:P

franwex103d ago

In my view, they should probably merge MP with Warzone and essentially make it free to play like Halo Infinite. The campaign/zombies mode can be $30 yearly DLC. I know this would be insanity as most COD players essentially pay the full price of the game simply for the MP. However-with a shrinking player base they may have to consider it. Making it free would bring in a ton of players.

Profchaos103d ago

To late MW3 should have been a lesson but here we are two years later with a steaming pile a shite called blops7

Halo killer once arrived and technically call of duty killer also arrived, its name is Fortnite

dveio103d ago

Call of Duty was riding the revenue horse and charts for ~20 years. Whether undeserved or deserved.

But I endorse everyone to remind you that Microsoft could have decided differently when they took it over.

The money was certainly there, and they could have taken their time revamping the franchise:

Current-gen tech, manageable microtransactions, not imitating Fortnite and returning to core values of the franchise's origin.

They didn't.

Let's see next year. Hopefully without the then 13 years old PS4 and One hardware.

blacktiger103d ago

you need to stop saying "let see next year"
