Who won E3 2010?

Chad 'The Impaler' Sapieha of The Goble and Mail says: Having not personally attended this year’s E3 in Los Angeles (I followed conferences online, pored over countless press releases, and conducted phone interviews with company representatives), I’m a bit hesitant to rank the news and announcements the event generated.

They had amazing games such as Killzone 3 and Littlebigplanet2 plus they had the shock announcements such as Gabe announcing portal 2 and Jaffe announcing Twisted Metal. Not to mention Kevin Butler lit up the show with his speech. Sony pulled out all of it's guns for this one and it showed.

1 - Konami
2 - Nintendo
3 - Sony
4 - EA
5 - Microsoft
6 - Ubisoft

I liked how Konami was very friendly and humble. No big stages, sales talk or fancy montages. Just funny developpers presenting their games one by one. It felt like an oral presentation in a classroom. I wish all conferences were like that.

OMG! I laughed so hard, "1 - Konami ".

What Conference did you see. I saw the one with all the freaks failing at simple English and being humans.

This was Konami: http://cache.gawkerassets.c...

Timesplitter145804d ago (Edited 5804d ago )

Yes, this is precisely what I'm referring to. Cool devs being funny and not giving a damn about shiny light shows or shit no one cares about like sales talk or marketing strategies.

At least they tried to do funny or entertaining things and that's all that matters to me

"Failing at simple English"

I would like to see if ur Japanese is any better.

renegade5804d ago

Konami conference was bizzare.

Biggest5804d ago

"I would like to see if ur Japanese is any better."

We should remember that the next time we present our work to the Japanese, huh?

press conference, i vote it for the 1st place....the conference is full of lols :))
MUST WATCH.

Lifendz5804d ago

E3 was great this year. With the exception of MS and Ubisoft, the conferences were great. Hope Nintendo doesn't revert back to vitality sensor type shows for next years E3.

OneSneakyMofo5804d ago

1. Sony
2. EA
3. Konami
4. Nintendo
5. Ubisoft
6. Microsoft

Nintendo's demo of Zelda killed so much of my hype for the game - Kid Icarus and Donkey Kong were pretty cool.
MIcrosoft, well, you saw their fiasco.

Xeoset5804d ago

Nobody won. E3 was shockingly bad this year; every presentation was suicidal including Microsoft's, Sony's and Free+'s. The only one that was worth hearing about was Nintendo's... at a push.

The rest of the years events best resolve this.

NexGen5804d ago

I disagree. Gamers won, as I really feel that Nintendo and Sony are bringing some great options for us. I'm a grown man and I have to say that I'm most excited for that sorcery game with Move. The 3ds was full of win, Move looks great, games to support those new areas...what's not to love?

I won E3 and that's what matters to me.

Xeoset5804d ago

I respect your opinion, but I'm still not convinced. Other than the 3DS I found nothing else interesting, which in itself is quite a statement as I hate how 3D TVs, games and cinema are being shoved down our throat. Games first, peripherals after.

I think its a tie between Sony and Nintendo. Then it goes, EA, Ubisoft, Konami, etc.

Timesplitter145804d ago

I like how the "etc..." is basically Microsoft

LoaMcLoa5804d ago

3DS looks completly awesome. And all the new announcements, such as Kid Icarus and DK, were just outstanding!

NexGen5804d ago

Yes, my GF was overly excited about DK. That game seemed to come out of nowhere, as did Kirby, and Metal Gear 3ds. I'm excited. Oh and Starfox!

Makes me happy!

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio11d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing11d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9211d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit11d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing11d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9211d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
