Nothing wowed me this time around

Nintendo gamers won, Sony Gamers won, If you Play xbox for Halo and Gears you won and If you lucky to Own all three systems and your pockets stretch like the Nile you def won. There. I wish people stop trying to make the console war like a superbowl or something sheeshus.

It's not a competition. It's a showcase - asking who won is like asking who won the news - MSNBC or CNN

If you were at home, Nintendo and Sony. If you were at the show, Sony hands down. The Sony booth had dozens of uupcoming AAA titles with everyone spread out enjoying everything. The Nintendo booth was just a 2 hour line to hold the little 3DS, hardly a winner.

We're not going to come to a conclusion on this arguement, N4G is home to more PS3 Gamers than Wii/360 and therefore it is biased.

The GAMERS

Nintendo had the best presentation in both surprises and pacing.

Sony's was decent but a bit to long. KB hit a home run while Jaffe and Newell were surprising.

MS was tons of worthless flash that focused far too much on MC and the casual market.

Nintendo did not win this conference. I was expecting a Zelda that was just as awesome as Twilight Princess or Orcarina, but they had to pull another Windwaker again which upset me. Sony won in my eyes because they presented to us a vast amount of games that make me feel good about owning the system. Sony also marketed the Move for games unlike Microsoft marketing it for more than games (remember when Sony did that back in 06 and how "well" that went?) Microsoft is now pulling the mistakes Sony made 4 years ago and they will pay for it. I like Gears and Halo, but they are not enough to win me over after seeing them ruin Kinect.

a lot of people think nintendo won because they showed the 3ds. 3ds will be about as powerful as a psp with a 3d screen that you cant see from all angles. zelda is only able to excite the fanboys who gets a nastalgic feeling from a lot of nintendos back catalog. nintendo fanboys and nintendo fans had to wait years for nintendo to show them something that interests them. when you talk to a nes fanboy all they tout are rubbish games with rubbish waggle controls that wouldn't interest alot of people for more than a few hours. people think nintendo had a good show because they had a few core games for people to look forward to and these are the people i call fanboys or imbeciles. to each his own, i dont mean all nes fans are idiots but majority of the games are technically inferior for me to be immersed and their current systems are of last gen specs. i cant wait for psp 2 which i know will cater more towards the core gamer while having an abundance of things for the casuals

Sony third, hour and half talking about crap and move, then finally games.
EA with sony on a tie for third, but somehow EA was great.
Ubisoft...at least Rayman.

I know what you're saying, but I couldn't help except feeling bored at most of Sony's conference. Nintendo showed the 3DS, and alot of games that made me put on my nostalgia googles. They win because of how I felt all kiddy when I saw those games. Still, Konami won. Haven't laughed harder in my life.

and disagree all you want but I won. Yesterday I made 8 reservations 5 of those were only on PS3,3 on the 360 and plan to buy 3DS and at least 4 of the games shown (MG,DK,KI +POKEMON can't be a Nintendo system without it).

ID Rage won E3 followed closely by Portal 2. Nintendo had the best showing simply because Reggie can talk a big game. Sony killed MS simply because they actually brought extra ammunition. MS won simply because they gave every one the biggest cliff hanger ending show in history. There are still more shows to go and not until watching TOy Story 3 yesterday with the kids did I notice such a growing demand for 3d.

I think Nintendo has stole it again, That 3DS is amazing.. I dont think Microsoft nor sony show what there product can do in the future enough. We Just seen what it can do now, Kinect seem cool but I dont play the Kid games, and Move is Just a Wii 3.0 controller, But the 3DS WOW!!

What is funny is I see a lot of people clinging to hardcore Sony. That's cool and all but many of you did not even get to try the 3ds and a lot of people are trying hard to marginalize it.

The truth of the matter is no one cares about sequel that didn't even sell over 3 million to it's own base. Sony seems to be crawling into a shell along with it's fans. That is fine though. I'm sure nintendo can find 5 million core gamers to replace you guys ignoring their games.

What you guys dont understand is we are getting sequels to games that didn't even get people to buy a ps in the first place. Sure you guys love them but 3 games in one console life cycle really?

I hope it all works out for them, I guess we will see.

that Sony won in terms of content and showing that MOVE isn't JUST a grab for the casuals (it IS a grab for the casuals, but us core gamers aren't being left behind).

i think that Nintendo had the best presentation, and the 3DS is some impressive tech, but my issue is that, once again, they fell back on tugging on ours, and the media's nostalgic heartstrings. Zelda. Mario. Metroid. Kid Icarus. Donkey Kong. yes, it's GREAT that we are once again getting more, but that's it? no new IPs?

Microsoft lost E3 big time.

to me, it doesn't matter if Konami or Ubisoft had good or bad press conferences, but Microsoft is one of the 3 platform holders. it is their DUTY to chart the direction of their platform, and, if vying for the industry leader spot, to show us WHY they are considered an industry leader.

Microsoft failed at all of the above. they floundered their Kinect presentation...TWICE. they also didn't bring anything new to the table, and once again trotted out Gears, Halo, and Fable, their three tentpole titles. there wasn't even a Crackdown 2 demonstration to at least make things a little more interesting.

Sony's conference was long, but that's because they had a lot to cover. so much in fact that they had to leave things OUT (The Last Guardian, DC Universe Online, The Agency, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, Resistance 3, etc).

as a platform holder, i think Sony showed a very clear direction for their console, as did Nintendo (keeping the status quo on the console front, but really innovating in the handheld space).

it's kind of weird, but i almost think Nintendo should focus solely on their handhelds, because they just do so GOOD at it, and Sony should focus solely on their consoles, because they are just so GOOD at it. maybe one day Sony and Nintendo will merge their handheld markets and have an uber handheld. lol.

Microsoft needs to find it's identity and run with it. it's so wrapped up with BEING Sony and Nintendo, that it's lost it's way. the Xbox was a much more focused gaming platform than the 360 is. Microsoft is just grabbing at everything it thinks will give it an edge over Sony and Nintendo, but the Xbox 360 DNA simply wasn't built around a lot of this expansion. they had to ADD HDMI. they had to ADD built in Wi Fi. Microsoft needs to focus on what makes the Xbox 360 the Xbox 360 (LIVE integration, strong MP gaming experience), and run with it.

i can't help but imagine how Microsoft could position themselves if they leveraged Xbox LIVE and started branching out beyond shooters. they could build up new studios that focused on bringing LIVE enabled multi-player games in the RPG genre, the survival horror genre, the action/adventure genre. instead, they'd much rather pay for timed exclusivity of multi-platform games.

Sony NEEDS the competition to keep them on their toes, but this E3 had Microsoft really stumble. you don't want to give Sony the chance to take advantage of a moment of weakness.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
