E3: Ubisoft Now Leads On PS3

NG: A unanimous PS3 lead from Ubisoft's three leading franchises...
An eye for details is the difference between interesting and/or salient facts and oblivion. Booth to booth, toured Ubisoft’s three triple-A hardcore titles - Driver: San Francisco, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - behind closed doors this afternoon and they all had one thing in common...

As does Criterion and 99% of EA's studios, including Visceral.

@ EA when they said see the rest of dead space 2 tomorrow at sony conference i heard Hip hop gamer go crazy. funny to hear a random guy and say wait thats HHG.

any way sony needs to give naughty dog a big bonus because UC2 as well as KZ2 and GOW3 changed how people see the PS3.

personally I think no multiplatform engine can compete with a engine made for one game. KZ2, UC2 , GOW3 use different engines and we see cry and Id making their own engines with great result but GOW3 looks like CGI and GT5 looks real at times which blows my mind.

almost wish KZ3 and UC3 used new engines just to be like YEAH WE KNOW WE ARE THE BEST

"@ EA when they said see the rest of dead space 2 tomorrow at sony conference i heard Hip hop gamer go crazy. funny to hear a random guy and say wait thats HHG."

I noticed that too lol. He went crazy in the Ghost Recon: FS demo when the blood started pouring from that guys skull haha.

"GOW3 looks like CGI"

Sometimes yes, but the whole game certainly doesn't look that way. Don't get me wrong, its a great looking game, but its by far very inconsistent graphically. Anyone who has played GOW3 knows that there are moments in the game that look better than others. The game looks like CGI in about 4 instances throughout the game(hence the same parts in the trailer). Particularly the parts when the camera is close up on Kratos.

1)The beginning of the Hades fight
2)When Kratos does that huge side spinning thingie in the first boss batle
3)When Kratos glides threw the air to fight Cronos
4)The part where Kratos tackles Zeus in the final, 2D section, of the last boss battle.

GT5, on the other hand, deserves ALL the praise it gets. This is all off-topic btw. Just wanted ta get my point across lol.

On topic however, PS3 rocks. Its the perfect example of technology, potential, fun, reliability, and value all combined to make the best home entertainment system on the market..PERIOD.

those games showed the true colour of the PS3...

all that is left is for activision to see but they only see money...

@dead

GoW3 looks like CGI in many more instances than you want to reckon. Just for starters the whole Gaia intro is pure eye candy. That is going without mentioning the scale and the Image Quality it sports.

I do agree, though, GT5 will blow GoW3 out of the water, as will do KZ3. It's bound to happen.

OT: This is the sign of a big shift happening under the hood in the gaming industry, and many people are just overlooking it. Even enthusiastic PS3 fans dont get it. I've noticed some fans have been crying the "lack" of first party titles and too many multiplats in Sony conference, when actually Sony is getting a very strong third party support, and it needs to share the wealth.

Yeah, from EA to Valve. The conference was 50% about Sony's partners and multiplats. In fact knowing Sony has much more first party software to show, I dont mind DS2 taking the stage in Sony conference, because some hours before I was totally floored when I saw 24 DS3 demoing MoH multiplayer. Just to show things have changed now Ubi says their games are leading on PS3.

I been saying that the more devs choose ps3 as lead the better the quality of multiplat games will be. 360 can do pretty good at understanding ported ps3 code but not the other way around. Or at least that is what used to happen.

I am really looking forward to insomniac and what they can do with the 360 after they have been such a good dev on the ps3. Same for bungie and their talents when it comes to making something for the ps3.

I like it when developers talk with SENSE & Practicality.

Kudos to Ubisoft.

You have seen the light.

Hotel_Moscow5846d ago (Edited 5846d ago )

guntrol activision is easy all sony has to do is throw money down their throats and activision will do nothing but take it

sony played this generation like it was chess and they are about 5 moves from check mate

It's good to see Developers finally seeing the proper way of doing things.

NYC_Gamer5846d ago

they finally understand....

SOAD5846d ago

That they have to focus on the console that is harder to develop for so they can create better parity.

thewhoopimen5846d ago

can't believe no one noticed your sarcasm. *disagree*

SOAD5846d ago

There was no sarcasm in that statement.

Boy, you're a smart one, aren't you? <-- There.

saint_john_paul_ii5846d ago (Edited 5846d ago )

wait Ghost Recon leads on PS3? when did that happen?

Edit: well hopefully, other 3rd party companies follow.

- Ghost of Sparta -5846d ago

When they started getting complaints about:

1. Half-assed ports.
2. Only demoing the 360 version of everything.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO5846d ago (Edited 5846d ago )

The demonstration about GR this E3 was in Xbox:
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

So why is saying is leading in PS3?

Sangheili855846d ago (Edited 5846d ago )

I was at E3 and got into the demoing of Ghost Recon. There were about 6 stations all only running the game on 360.

Oh but Assassins Creed was demo'd on both systems and playable on the floor.
Don't know about Driver. it was restricted.

zoks3105846d ago

I think that's because Microsoft wanted to look completely casual at E3 this year, so they did not send out any joint inventions to 3d party developers this year asking them to join them reveal some of their games like Sony did.

I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.

Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.

But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.
