NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! !

It would come after Playstation MOVE version of Heavy Rain?

kingdavid5826d ago (Edited 5826d ago )

Blatant retardancy from quantic dream.

They said they would release it and no doubt people wouldve held onto heavy rain Because of the influx of dlc coming. Now they say this, its pathetic.

I like quantic dream and heavy rain but this is a cheap ploy at best.

poopface15826d ago

they decided to make heavy rain 2 instead.

tablav5826d ago

C'mon, you can't make a sequel to Heavy Rain. Where would the story go? There were multiple endings :-/

tda-danny5826d ago

Doesn't have to involve all of the same characters to be a sequel...

poopface15826d ago

but maybe a prequel, or different story or different characters. I think the game was more successful then they thought it would be, so maybe they will try and make a different story in the same type of game.

Blaze9295826d ago

David Cage doesn't make sequels. He already said this even before Heavy Rain came out that he won't be making a sequel or continuing Heavy Rain's story.

yoshiroaka5826d ago

It would make sense to reuse the heavy rain name and just change characters and story, like how almost every final fantasy is a different story altogether. That way they could build up a IP and name so that when you hear it you instantly recognize who made this game and what it is about.

This is better instead of having to rebuild a IP again and re-convince and re-educate people on you game. This a problem with the causal audience who dont really follow up as deeply into games.

The only problem was that the name Heavy rain had a relevance to the actual story so a sequel with the same name but different story wouldnt make sense... hmmm.

After a few months of not hearing anything new about Chronicles...I think this is 100% true...It's to bad though...

wiggles5826d ago (Edited 5826d ago )

It's been two months and we haven't heard a word....Plus David Cage is already working on a new project....as much as it sucks I doubt there will be anymore DLC.

However, I would like to know why you Disagree, being that nothing said after 2-3 months usually means nothing will happen

WetN00dle695826d ago (Edited 5826d ago )

Shyeah it is!
Those short campaigns were quite entertaining.
Even though we only got one right BUT it was awesome.
Anyways just hope they keep releasing DLC for it and not just the MOVE addon thinking that that will keep its fans happy although i am happy still BRING MORE STORIES DANG IT!

jay25826d ago

Yeah, this is most likely the case :(.

IWentBrokeForGaming5826d ago

they gave up before they could reel more people in... it's still a fresh title and they are pulling the plug?... if this is the case, I guess I can part with it now... these episodes are something I've really looked forward to since the game turned me into a fan... Im pretty bummed now...

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe2022d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG2022d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman2022d ago (Edited 2022d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.
