Ninty got some nice upgrades for it's new handheld apparently borrowed from PSP, good for 3DS.

Ad 6. Actually Big N stated that 3DS is more powerfull than Wii. So it's more powerfull than PS2 and DC (though technically speaking DC had slightly more powerfull than PS2) maybe even combined(3D needs significant amount of additional resources to render scenes, and what we saw were just starting titles already looking like late PS2 games).

Can't wait for this little piece of awesomeness.

Where did Nintendo say it was more powerful than the Wii? I mean, if true: AWESOME! The games do look great, and these are just launch titles.

SpoonyRedMage5826d ago

Nintendo never said that but the speculation goes that the 3DS can't push the same amount of polys but has shader support(which goes against what Digital Foundry said I think) which can be seen in the Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid demos.

It also looks like it has some decent Anti-aliasing as well, seen in the Star Fox 64 3D screens.

But it's still speculation at this point but people have been saying that MGS3 looks better on the 3DS than on the PS2, which is pretty damn good either way.

Developers have commented that it's actually MORE powerful than the Wii, in some respects approaching the power of the PS3 and 360. Read it on an IGN article. If that's true, Nintendo really have done something special.

meganick5826d ago

I don't think Nintendo ever said that. But I think certain developers who are familiar with the specs of the 3DS have said that it's somewhere between a Wii and a 360/PS3. Of course we won't know for sure until specs are released, but I hope that's true.

...made me cringe with laughter... making a funny, right?

meganick5826d ago

The Dreamcast was not more powerful than the PS2. The PS2 out-powered the DC in every way. I'm not sure where you're getting your information.
And exactly what upgrades did Nintendo borrow from the PSP for their 3DS? Are you referring to the adoption of the widescreen or something?

LightofDarkness5826d ago

Not totally true. The DC actually had stronger 2D capabilities like the Saturn before it (it had more or faster VRAM, can't remember), but unfortunately at that stage 2D was no longer on people's minds.

We are already getting ready to buy 4 of the 3DS's. We all like it (me, wife, kids). I really like that finger slide thing (that might be funny to some lol), but it allows for more gameplay opportunities. I'm glad they are bringing some of the N64 games back as well. If they bring back the right ones and you are able to play multiplayer with just one game like with the regular DS, this could be big!

This guy said they have embraced SD cards like that's new! I guess he didn't have a DSi!

Also, I want to know if they will still use game carts, something like a UMD or try downloadable only like the Psp go.

I'll admit it, I only knew about 7 of those things...but still.

Hideo_Kojima5826d ago (Edited 5826d ago )

Yep I knew most of them...

NO glasses: Duuuuuuuuuuuh
Adjustable 3D: Heard it in the after show on the ninty site
3D Camera: again the same
3D is more than games: its pictures and movies we know
It's sensitive: we know they said it at the freaking conference
Analogue thumbpad: we can see it :-/
As powerful as dreamcast or even ps2: we have seen the graphics in the mgs game
Only one touch screen: nothing changed there... so duh again.

So that was 2 things I didn't know about 3DS
SD card slot and DLC vic WiFi.

I probably didn't hear them in the conference.

WrAiTh Sp3cTr35826d ago

Well the Dsi has an SD card slot with built in web-browser, so dlc over wi-fi is already being done per Wii-ware...kinda' sorta'...yeah. I didn't know about the movie companies doing stuff for it though.

tigertron5826d ago

I don't get the adjustable 3D option? I mean, the whole point of the 3DS is to play 3D games.

I'm interested in the movies, but I'd probably only buy Avatar if/when it comes out. I wonder whether the movies will be on a cartridge/SD card or be downloadable? time will tell.

TheAwesomessMan5826d ago

Some people probably don't want to view it in 3d all day.

Seferoth755826d ago

Yes the whole point is to allow you to play games in 3D. However the point isnt to force you to always play in 3D, you have the option to play how you want. Whats not to get about having more options to play?

jjesso19935825d ago

What about the people who blind in one eye ? or have really bad vision in one eye ? thats why i think They put the option there.

GuruStarr785826d ago

Those of us who watched the conference knew....
