N4G Bubble Update

The new ranking algorithm for the bubble system is now live. As most of you know, there has been a flaw in the system which has let certain people take away other member’s bubbles just because they didn’t agree with their point of view. With the new ranking system in place your “precious bubbles” will be much better protected from the bubble predators. Also all accounts with less than 5 bubbles have now been reset. Those with more than 5 five have been adjusted after the new algorithm.

I can’t give away the details about how the new ranking system works, but the idea is that you shouldn’t so easy lose bubbles from having an unpopular opinion if you express it in a normal/mature way.

The negative feedback vote should only be used on members who

- Use foul language
- Who do personal attacks on other members
- Post in all CAPS
- Make immature posts such as …. Xbox SUX hahahahahha!!!!
- Do not follow the N4G guidelines

So do not give other members negative feedback only because you don’t agree with them. For this use the agree/disagree option or simply reply to their post. Also if you now try to take peoples bubbles away for the wrong reason, your vote will most likely backfire on your own account.

Our intention is not to kill the colourful and lively discussions we have here at N4G, we just want to make the ranking system more fair and harder to abuse.

More updates to come soon…

My Christmas wish is for a Legend of Dragoon remake and a Bloodborne remake please!!

Redgrave67d ago

Not in this lifetime, my friend. LoD remake is too ambitious and expensive a project to risk dropping money on. They already hate Bloodborne for some reason.

Babadook767d ago (Edited 67d ago )

That’s silly. I don’t think they hate bloodborne. They love demons souls. They will give us a bloodborne patch or more likely a remake.

Abnor_Mal67d ago

I remember seeing a video some time ago with an interview with someone from Fromsoft who said that the idea of a Bloodborne remake would be something to look out for at the release of the PlayStation6.

DarXyde67d ago

Nah, I disagree.

Legend of Dragoon might be niche to a modern gamer, but it's still a new experience for the modern gamer. Bringing back PSOne classics is a bit of a challenge too, especially the RPGs because I think they want to consider how to modernize them for today's gamer. Sadly, we don't have Japan Studio anymore, and I'm finding that any JS games remade by studios like Bluepoint are good and overall faithful remakes, but are missing... Something. Could be "soul" or atmosphere, I really don't know. But playing them makes me very grateful I played the originals first.

Bloodborne is trickier. A patch probably won't happen since it's too half hearted (and cannot be monetized without a lynch mob coming for them). A remake is definitely possible, but, once again, there is no Japan Studio anymore and FromSoft is likely busy with other projects. I think Bloodborne will come again, though.

Rumor has it that they’re gonna announce a region-locked digital-only PS5 for a discounted price (50,000¥) which would put it more in line with the Switch 2.

Can’t say I’m a big fan of this news/rumor, cause I hate the idea of going backwards to region-locked consoles and games. We’ll find out tomorrow. Hopefully they’ll have some cool stuff to announce as well.

Rimeskeem67d ago (Edited 67d ago )

Might have something to do with tariffs and perhaps the new PM of Japan?

Yi-Long66d ago

Many gamers (and devs) in Japan simply feel the PS5 is much too expensive for a home-console, especially with the Switch 2 now out. They've been pressuring Sony in dropping the price in order to create a bigger market.

The Japanese Yen is also very low/weak right now, which means it's been a fantastic time to visit Japan for many tourists, but it also means tourists can (and will) take advantage of the weak yen to buy all their stuff there, as it's cheaper to simply book a holiday to Japan for a week orso and then buy the stuff you want/need, and it ends up cheaper than buying it all at home. For example, I'm in Hong Kong rught now, I can book a 5-day trip & hotel in Japan for 500 bucks orso, but then buy new shoes, clothes, glasses, games, camera, art-books, whatever over there, and I'd save so much money that the trip itself is basically 'free'. This is why they're looking at region-locking games/hardware, because they'd prefer me to buy that stuff in my own territory, where it would be (much) more expensive.
