Games rather than shooters left and right. MAss Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Odessey is a good start but once 2008 comes by the PS3 will have a great selection from FPS (Killzone2) to puzzle (Echo Chrome) to RPG (FF XIII or WKS) and to the orginal (LBP). I believe most PS users aren't big fans of Console FPS but more oriental to ActioN adventure and RPG

M$ never had a "Mojo" to begin with. At least not like Nintendo and Sony do in the Video game industry.

The 360 is a great great console it has stellar hardware i.e GFX ect. But the PS3 is better hardware, and its begining to show now. People can disagree but the PS3 has the best ghames in development and has the more powerful hardware.

Yes one can get sick of negative news for ones console of choice. Lets us consider for a moment that this has been a small percentage of negative news for the 360 then what the PS3 had for months on end on this site and everywhere else. I'm sure next year when sales start slowing down for the Wii we shall see countless reports and news articals pointing out how it's the end for Nintendo and soon they'll pull a Sega and what not. It's the nature of the buisness to get hot then not in very short order. People love to see the big fall, so to all of you who think only bad news for 360 gets approved and that sony fans are to blame, just calm down and take it in stride it'll all subside in a few weeks or less.

PS3 people needs these kind of "news" to boost up their confidence.
360 will do fine even with some bad news. PS3 would have died already if they would get the same amount of bad news that MS and 360 gets.

I agree that E3 2007 although not bad could have been better for microsoft. But overall I think they did quite well for them selves. You have to realize that the nintendo wii is not really in direct competition with the xbox or the ps3. It's more down the line of the casual gamer thing which is working out great for them. So to compare the ps3 or the xbox to the wii would be like comparing the graphics to the wii. Completely out of the picture, and not a good comparison.

Now for the part that kind of disturbed me was the whole xbox live thing. Who ever said that it was a step above doss probably wasn't around when doss was made, because the simple fact is they couldn't be any further from the truth. Xbox live is honestly the best online capable system out their and it is easy. The ps3 is on it's way to start competeing with xbox live when the home comes out. (thats going to be interesting!!!). Butt to get to the core of this article, Has microsoft lost it's mojo? well to some thats an opinion, and to everyone their own. But in my opinion, no, no they haven't lost their mojo. Their just saveing up for it. They have nothing to really prove rite now. The only competition they have (directly) is the ps3 and to be quite honest the lack of hardware sales shows that they dont need to worry for a bit. (I do like the ps3, i'm just stating the facts)The ps3 is rite now just trying to recover from the lack of sales but i think that they are on the rite track with the price cut, and a good batch of games comeing out for 2008 and late 2007. So to go back to what i think will happen is that microsoft will wait until the giant (sony) is about to do that and then BOOM, you'll see microsoft take off. If all of the great games coming out in the coming months for the 360 do not knock out the PS3, then they are in for a real fight for the next few years. We will all know how it turns out once Halo 3 and GTA drop in the X-Mas shopping season.

Xbox is definately in the lead rite now as far as high end gameing is concerned. I think everyone can agree to that. (as far as numbers go) If a console is in the lead and still selling more consoles than the ps3 why would they price cut rite now? It's not smart for them too, not yet anyway. They are on the brink of the greatest seller for them (halo 3). and it's comeing out soon. The halo series alone will jumpstart the xbox 360 into a frenzy. Only after the fact do i see a price cut. As for casual gameing no, nintendo rules that department. The entire console is designed around the casual gameing concept. So for a higher end console (with the hard core gameers in mind) it is going to take some time for them to adapt and change. The hardware malfunctions well i dont know what to say about that and i don't think anyone does. They screwed up on their part, and their trying to fix it. But this is definately not a tipping point for them. Yes a setback but shoot, so was the entire first console they launched. But they still managed, rite? Well I do think I have mentioned everything on my mind so i will end this discusion. I hope you all agree with me, and if you dont. well i'm sorry. But thanks for reading!!!!

yeah a few hits, but sony has had it worse with bad news after bad news since day one of launch and before.

The only good news as of late for the ps3 was the price drop and thats proven temp.

They have certainly hit a stumbling block though. I am glad they finally admitted to an unacceptable hardware failure rate.

The 3 yr warranty is retroactive so all past customers will get a refund. and all current and future customers will be payment free.

I think a lot of the slow sales are bc of lack of new big name games. Sales will no doubt pick up when the big hits start arriving next month and in the Holiday season. Especially with Halo 3 right around the bend.

MS hasn't lost anything and without a doubt has the best line up for 2007 and will continue to shine this entire generation! I agree with bootsaf1 and see exactly were he is coming from!

micro and sony are cool not bothered by any bad news about 360 or good news just want the best games out there.

MS hasn't directly lost its mojo, they are not taking full advantage of it. The hardware issues really made them stumble into a wall, but with the great launch up of game being released this year,they will be able to climb over the wall. Once the hardware issues are complete, their mojo will be taken with full advantage.

MS has lost its MOJO. Horrible failure rate, generic games for the past 2 years, paying for online, and the felxing power of the PS3 with the games that are comming out this year, and HOME, and free online, the inevidable demise of HD-DVD, PS3's built-in Blu-Ray movie player, the new rumble technology sixaxis had a big adverse effect on the sales and perception of the 360. Its known as a ticking time bomb now more than its known for gaming.

I love what the ps3 is and what sony is trying to do right now. I will probably buy a ps3 when they get rumble on the controllers and a good first party title is released and from what Ive read thats not going to be for a long time.

nintendo said upfront that they wanted to expand the market to casuals.IT WORKED.sony has always taken the approach of games for all.IT WORKED.microsoft claims that the arcade is for casuals.but there is a large entrance fee to play them.you got to buy the system and pay for xbox live.nothing like going to the store and buying a controller with tons of games on it.

as much as i love my ps3, i dont think its fair to say ms has lost its 'mojo'. sure it has had a tough month or so, but so did the ps3 right at the start. i think everyone can say its lost momentum with the failure rates, and what i thought to be an underwhelming e3, but when its AAA titles are released, it will have some excellent games under its belt.
credit does have to go to them for making this console war so competitive, without them it wouldnt have had its ups and downs for both consoles.

If you look at the gaming market as a whole you have to consider MARKET share.

Sony has their ps2, psp, and ps3
Nintendo has their wii and ds
MS has xbox 360.

Whether you like it or not ms only has the lead in the next interation of the console wars, but as you can see from the stats the wii is rapidly catching up even though its 1.5 years behind its launch. The ps3 is showing signs of growth also. What does this mean 60 percent drop in 360 sales since t he debut of both of these new consoles from their competitors.

Sony and Nintendo have a better product line up that caters to a broader audience than MS. Not to sound like a troll but xbox 360 has about the same frequency of units sold as the xbox 1 during the same time frame.

Most of America loves shooters they playin to their crowd. n ps3 has mostly shooters right now n e ways. i love fps so i like xbox 360. they have alot of diverse games also. look we got some gay rpgs from japan too. i only like madden, fps, rpgs like fable n mass effect, and racing games like forza and pgr4. so right there i got all i need. ill get a ps3 when they got games. n they comin lairs gonna be 9, heavely sword maybe 9.6 who knows, n ratchet automatic 9+, drakes fortune prob like 9.1, so yea once the ps3 is 399 ill get it n itll have fps and other games, fu**k all the diversity i just want a couple genres. i dont need viva animal racing. Just like individuals, companies have peaks and valleys. Nintendo had a valley with the GameCube. Now they're at the top of a peak with the Wii.

Sony was at the top of a peak for two generations, especially with the almighty PS2. With the launch of the PS3, they found themselves in a deep valley, but are climbing back towards the mountain top.

Microsoft started off well with the 360, but have found themselves to be in hard times this past month. The holiday season (and hopefully afterward) should be a nice peak for Microsoft, and hopefully the entire gaming industry. Microsoft made the right move in acknowledging any shortcomings that some 360's may have. They are looking toward the future, and hopefully it will be bright.

As much as I love my 360 and the great lineup of games, I do believe MS has dropped the ball a little in recent months. MS got too confident because of Sony's struggles and clearly decided they can go toe-to-toe with Sony without making any concessions on pricing. MS should have knocked $100 off the 360 premium and abolished the core system several months ago if they were to maintain, and perhaps widen their lead. IMO Sony will now overtake MS early to mid 2008.

Changes nothing for me though. 360 still has the games I want to play, and until that changes it will remain my preferred console.

360 has a good lineup this year, but it's all lookin a bit empty for 2008 on the m$ side of things

PS3 have also got a good '07 lineup (not quite as good as the 360's though), but in 2008 we have games such as MGS4, KILLZONE 2, LITTLEBIGPLANET, FINAL FANTASY AND GRAN TURISMO 5.
Home will also be on track by this time, and most of the problems it faces are likely to have disappeared by this time.

Let's face it, the Wii has captured the mass market this generation. The 360 has XBLA to try and compete in the casual arena, but it's priced too high for the mainstream and most folks don't have cable connections yet. Now, are they well-positioned to succeed? Sure, eventually the 360 will hit the $200 magic price point, before Sony does, and at some point 3/4 of the population will have broadband access.

But the truth is, as much Mojo and moxy as Microsoft has, they and Sony are now battling for 2nd place. The Wii -- for reasons that simply escape my own sense of logic -- will win. Call it price, call it the waggle interface... for whatever reason, they grabbed the mindshare of the casual market and people are going loony over it. Wii Fit, for chrissakes? I mean, c'mon!!!

This will all be forgotten when Halo 3, Mass Effect and Bioshock are released. Microsoft has admitted a hardware problem and is putting up a Billion to fix it. Meanwhile, Sony is squandering a nice E3 showing by attacking their competitors with false statements (Arcade is old. $599/$499 are now cut to $599/$499.) and more promisses of the future (Video downloads, new demoes and XMB in-game coming soon-ish.)

The 360 is a sexy-beast, baby, YEAH!
