Project Natal Experience Was For The Mainstream

Torrence Davis of The Bitbag writes "I talked with Aaron Greenberg last night about the Project Natal Experience. He said the event was for mainstream media like Good Morning America. They also had several celebrities come in and test out the Kinect. The event was scripted and when asked about it he said, “A show like this has to be scripted".

....because our camera doesn't work well enough to demonstrate it live

Reibooi5813d ago

That's so......sad. Really it shows they have no confidence in their own product. How do they expect consumers to want to buy it if they have now admitted everything was faked? It's just pathetic.

sikbeta5813d ago

This kind of explanation it's pointless now imo, they could say it before and no-1 would say crap cos it would be a knowing scripted thing for the mainstream, it's like they are saying it now because it was obvious

BubbleSystemSuck5813d ago

i think this is getting worse than the GiantEnemyCrab

GTANJ5813d ago

It was apparent this was worse when "Skittlez" took the stage....

sikbeta5813d ago

GEC was funny, hell, even the xbox avatar show was funny, this one... I don't know man, it's weird, it only shows that MS want to push it but the thing is not even done to test it yet...

solar5813d ago

See: Nintendo.

both Sony and MS are trying to grab mainstream appeal since Nintendo showed that motion controls can do it.

pippoppow5813d ago

Yes Nintendo showed the way. Sony was smart enough to follow but improve upon by adding a camera into the mix. MS decided to follow Sony 10 years ago.

Silver3605813d ago

Project Natal experience was scripted. You know the thing with the ponchos? He didn't say the press conference was scripted.

JackBNimble5813d ago

Yes... they put on a choreographed preformance with cirque du soleil, of course it's going to be scripted. No one in their right mind would put on a preformance like this that wasn't scripted.

MS never tried to deny this fact either, I'll give them that much.

ARBitrator5813d ago

The show was to induce curiosity with common folk. To get people interested, to make people take notice. To make people ask "What is this?"

Can some of you guys ever turn off your @$$hole personality inducers.

No one can have an intelligent conversation on this site because some jerk-off will always show up and make so dumbass imature comment.

rkimoto5813d ago

Even though I agree with you, that this event was to gather curiosity for the masses... It's not helping your cause when you use foul language, while at the same time, asking to have intelligent conversations.

Chill out dude, there's no need for that, if you're so much bothered by fanboys just don't read their comments and give your honest opinions on the articles.

ARBitrator5813d ago

You are 100% correct. I agree and my apologies.

The Wood5813d ago (Edited 5813d ago )

good man....you done a 'gabe'

rkimoto

good point

@ RedHemi300c below

i made that comment over a day ago when MS were still in a position to show something....things got worse not better

rkimoto5812d ago

No problem dude, no need to apologize, just trying to make it stay civil (even if that's very difficult to do here).

Hope a lot more people would try to do the same and keep it classy, just like you did.

The Wood5815d ago

for real

Truth be told i can understand that (especially after Bam) but they are then meant to allow normal people like you and i to have a go NOT celebrities so they can get pr bits and bites. BS. Im meant to see some clips on youtube right now showing people actually playing this tech.

Mustang300C20125813d ago

That was what E3 was for so your point doesn't make sense since that is exactly what they offered after the show and conference.

n4gno5813d ago

Dammage control is starting, greentard, fantards and microsoft employees/sites work hard ! :)

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
