Those are the exclusive games consumers will see in 2007 for both platforms. Which has the better line up? Clearly PS3.

PS wondering about 2008? PS3 has Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy, New Gran Turismo, and inFamous. Nuff said.

secured the rights to the next Splinter Cell to have a game similar to MGS4. Seeing as how it is most likely exclusive to PS3. They are different but at least in the same genre.

They are both great franchises. But I think Splinter Cell is a lot more realistic.

I'm sure that SC4 will be good. Ubisoft just has a lot going on right now.... Haze, Assassin's Creed...etc. and wants to make sure each game is polished on release day.

i am glad they pushed it off, i am going to be so busy with games this fall it is going to take forever just to get through all the awsome games coming in the next few months.

I'v read some people saying that PS3 will win 2oo8 but i don't see it with the known games. PS3 has 4 or 5 big titles coming out next year i know of around 20 360 games that have promise.

why are people saying, that when a game is on Xbox360/PC it is automatically xbox360 exclusive?? don't be so desperate...

Try again, Halo 3, Bioshock, Ace Combat 6, Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, Naruto, Lost OD, PGR4, Two Worlds, Eternal Sonata, Katamri, the good VF5, Viva Pinata, Relic, cause see unlike you we have a diverse 360 only lineup.

Plus GT5 is not the full game, its just a sick demo, Socom, and warhawk are not going to make a dent, their big games, and their multiplayer only.

Then pretty much in Q1 of 2008 we've got UT3, Splinter Cell, Too Human, then for the year so far Halo Wars, Peter Jackson game, Alan Wake, Banjo 3, Haze and who knows what else. Unlike Sony MS hasn't shown their cards.

If you followed FFXIII development you would know its due out late 2008 in JAPAN and they said near a years length to translate it so.... 2009.

Honestly, I'm glad Conviction is being delayed till 2008. Its already like 15 AAA titles lined up for 360 in 2007 so thats 60 dollars that gets to stay in my pocket.

i think its a good move.... probably to not compete with MGS4 but it sure fills the 360 spot for stealth/adventure type game when MGS4 does come out.

and for anybody that thinks 360 line-up isn't looking good.... how can anyone forget Moore's so called "perfect storm?" the 3 biggest games of the year will ALL be on 360.

the the two that disagree.... the perfect storm is having the three best selling games of the year ALL on one system. No other games will sell more than GTA, Madden, and Halo. Fact. And being that you can get all three only on 360 gives it the advantage.

And girlgamer, i didn't know PS3 was lucky enough to get Madden to run as good as he 360 version. But what about the exclusive content for GTA and Halo. Those are the 3 blockbusters of the year.... not LittleBigPlanet, Lair, or HS.

SC doesn't even come close to the MGS franchise, not in sales and not in quality(reviews). Now MGS 4 just slapped everything to date, Crysis quality xbots. This game has it all, great graphics, physics and atmosphere, stealth action , action, FPS view and hundreds of possibilites to interact with the enemies and enviroments.

I really wanted this game this year :'(

each of those games have quite a lot of hype and have high expectations. There is no way i could get all those games, so conviction going to 2008 may be a good thing. Now it joins halo wars, alan wake, and fable 2, haze, ut3, too human, and the next banjo kazooie game.

Games get delayed, so what. It has nothing to do with solid snake and his richard simmons clothes.

I was just thinking today. Splinter cell conviction has no hype whatsoever. The game wouldnt have fared to well if it came out this year. Smart on Ubi's part. On a side note i remember how xbots used to say all PS games get delayed blah blah this is waiting blah blah. Mass effect got pushed back, too human pushed back, and now splinter amongst others. Am suprised bioshock wasnt pushed back.

Thats how the series always been . The game is all command base gameplay , you push one button and you see Sam break through the surface of a frozen lake , grab a enemy choke him out then to finish him off you stab him , all with one push of a BUTTON ! How is this real to you when your not doing anything and let a simple animation do all the work for you . I buy the Metal Gear games to play them cause they let you , the best part of the series are the gameplay and story . Splinter cell has no story , why play something that has a meaningless plot with no gameplay . 360 can keep this game , it was never a good game to begin with . I will buy MGS4 .

that the MGS series is a console blockbuster. The PS2 has over a 100,000,000 console install base. For a game to sell a few million copies on PS2 such as MGS2 and 3 is not a blockbuster when you compare the attach rate to the install base.

Gears of War has sold over 5 million copies to an install base that is just over 11,000,000 360s. For a MGS game to compare percentage wise it would have to sell in the area of 40,000,000 copies to compete with the attach rate of Gears for 360.

People that have 360s just buy more games. With the larger install base I have no doubt that SCC will sell more copies on 360 than MGS4 on PS3. I also believe that if MGS4 was on 360 it would sell more copies than on the PS3.

By the time MGS3 came out, PS2 gamers had millions of games to choose from and also many were already playing pirated games. PS2 piracy was huge by that time, something that can't be said about 360 now. MGS2 is is a better comparison, as it was same like Gears nearer the launch and piracy was almoust non existent. This title sold 7 million and that's pretty good if you ask me.

Ever since MGS1 you could move while using your weapon, the aim wasn`t all that good though with a top-down view, but seems to be spot on in MGS4 as it now has a behind the shoulder-view. I`m not sure if it`s all that easy to move and shoot in real life as it is in games though.

Boss battles are fun and make for a more varied game experience if you ask me. More realistic, guess not hehe. Your right about shadows, Splinter Cell has better lighting, and uses it better than in MGS.

The AI, i`ll agree with too, as i would like it to be better in the MGS-games. But i do think MGS-games have done better than other games to show a more realistic human behavior, in that they seem afraid, sleepy, and wondering of stuff that happened (they can be a bit on the dumb side though and i`ve heard of tunnelvision, but the guards seem to have the worst case of it i`ve ever seen hehe). But then again, how realistic is it to move around with three glowing disco lights on your head in the dark, and not getting spotted ;)

Everything from the boss battles and great story (i don`t see a well told and move quality cut-scenes are a bad thing, although they can get a bit on the long side yeah hehe) in MGS enhance the game, and makes it a more varied and better experience for me.

I get what you`re saying though, and i agree with you on the realism part. For MGS, i think people who play it should accept that it`s realism with a twist, and that not everything needs to be realistic to be fun. And that`s what games should be in my opinion.

Still, i think both Splinter Cell and MGS4 will be great games, and i respect your opinion, so positive feedback from me for elaborating why you liked the game and realism. Positive feedback from me.

why is everyone so shocked, or taking this so hard.

when was the last time UBI got a game out the door with no delays. since the next gen consoles came out, starting with the Xbox, i don't think there is a single game from ubi that has not been pushed back.

the last one SCDA was pushed back twice. does anyone remember when GRAW was first suppose to launch, it was meant to be a launch game for the 360 and got delayed by 3 or 4 months...and when was AC suppose to be out ? That was suppose to be spring this year, then they pushed it back to fit in with their fiscal year ending or whatever and gave us the half finished GRAW 2 instead.

ok, maybe i am being harsh, i am sure there must be one or two. i can't think of any right now though.

interesting two very different stealth games coming almost the same time. both are must buy, contrary to most people I enjoyed Double Agent it was most fun of all the four including story wise, I enjoyed betraying the sh!t out of JBA and sneaking behind their backs. MGS and SC are different enough to not warrant a useless comparison.

I like backward compatibility with the xbox, I own a ps 2, but I could not c myself buying shadow of the colosus since I own the old one. ps makes you buy it again
