Just out of interest what games have MS shown

I know of Gears of war 3, possibly HL3 and portal 2

Com on you guys know MS are freaking secretive...and I know you know that. You look nervous acting that way....and I think you should be nervous :D

edit:there are PSP games in that list.

captain-obvious5875d ago (Edited 5875d ago )

"Google statistics"
-_-"

the title is misleading
Google them selves didn't say anything
this is talking about the website Google and the search statistics

i don't why you PPL are disagreeing but that's the fact read the damn thing

anyway i cant wait to see what all 3 got to show

Wrathman5875d ago

@crazzyman..nice list..comparing 2 games to the entire GT catalogue of all platforms that span about 10 years.NICE!LOL!

the fear is tasty in here.

Conloles5875d ago

Queue SDF with some statistic.

hay5875d ago (Edited 5875d ago )

I think people are just interested what MS will be showing cause they didn't announced much.

It's not as if MS will have better E3 cause of that and "win" it because some guy checked trends on google analytics.

IMO there's always only one side winning the E3. Gamers.

And I plan to win this time too.

Droid Smasha5875d ago (Edited 5875d ago )

MS has ALL the momentum going into E3. Isn't that the POINT of E3 to ANNOUNCE new games. Why would they show you everything before the conference?

grailly5875d ago

quite weird to see move being "rated" higher than natal and free realms being the 3rd most buzz worthy Sony title

Misterhbk5875d ago

360 has how many coming exclusives? 1? 2 maybe?

PS3 on the other hand is climbing towards 10 in the next year. Obviously every 360 gamer has googled, "gears of war 3" a bajillion times because they have nothing else to google. Hardcore gamers aren't googling Natal, and PS3 gamers have a variety of games to look up. This is dumb...sigh, why did I even reply.

deafwing5875d ago (Edited 5875d ago )

when websites are desparate for hits they really will do/say anything ... this is laughable (regardless of the fact that big $ has a longer listing than M$ ... ) ....

question is .. why do we care?

EDIT: I had to try this out .... so I went to google noobsite/insight to try it out .. I just had to see for myself. You guys will get a kick out of this beta app ..

here's a link to where I used "XBOX360" as the search term
- http://www.google.com/insig... (Japan does the most searching on 360 ..)

and here's one for "Playstation 3"
- http://www.google.com/insig... (I don't even want to say who is number 1 for this .. it's so funny :D lol)

... so I threw "Nintendo WII" into the mix (just for kicks ...)
- http://www.google.com/insig... (Denmark cares more about WII than anyone in the World SHOCKING lol).

jebabcock5874d ago (Edited 5874d ago )

Thats probably because sony gamers are too busy playing all the good games that have been abundantly coming out... This is far fetched and its funny to note that according to this people don't give a squat about natal, they just want another halo and gear of war...

Edit: This info is bunk... According to this ps2 is rated higher than ps3. although all the searches for ps2 are coming out of chili... xbox rates higher than than xbox360 suprise suprise... because all xbox hits also include xbox360... its all how you type in the word... and the derivatives... this could be manipulated so easily to get whatever damaging results you want...

NeutralGamer5874d ago (Edited 5874d ago )

I'm from Denmark and I LOVE WII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On topic: That list got PSP games so this doesnt count as Xbox 360 vs Ps3 Fanboy War content :O

Even though fanboys sure use everything against eachother these days...

Fanboy wars is going to be really the day we see Xbox Portable :o and "Xbox Erricson" phones XD

"Oh no the Sprint president is at the Xbox Erricson conference... Have they stole yet another phone carrier???"

EDIT:

@deafwing: LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!! Try look at the Xbox insight analytics... Look at what Xbox usually is combined when searched:

1. jtag
2. darksiders xbox360
3. jogos para xbox360
4. jogos xbox360
5. xbox360 コントローラー

And I guess people say that piracy is'nt a problem on Xbox? I wonder how the hell xbox games still sell when piracy is a big problem :o

BTW the last one means "Xbox 360 controller"

Like I said before people want surprises and Sony has pretty much given away everything. Also the lists are pointless because everybody knows that PS3 games are always out years from there announcement at E3.

raztad5875d ago

"Sony has pretty much given away everything."

I suspect that's not true but E3 is a couple of days away so we will see.

"everybody knows that PS3 games are always out years from there announcement at E3"

LBP2 (2010)

KZ3, inFAMOUS2 and MS3 (2011)

Orange Juice5875d ago (Edited 5875d ago )

"Also the lists are pointless because everybody knows that PS3 games are always out years from there announcement at E3."

Woah what? Do you know what year it is? Maybe when the console first came out and everyone was working on their first ps3 engine/ip, but its not that way anymore. I think you may know this though and are just trying to be lame.

tyrex5875d ago

none of those games are surprises. but you forget last years sony conference the big things for them were already anounced. they showed god of war 3 and uncharted, MAG, and modnation racers at their conference and that wowed people. for me id rather see a game demoed live than just a trailer. not saying i won't take a trailer. even better they show a cool trailer of twisted metal ps3 then go straight into a live demo = epic win

rezzah5875d ago

Oh its nice to know that you went to the future to watch E3 and came back to tell us about it. Thanks ;)

GiggMan5875d ago

Seriously, why is God of War 3 on Microsoft's list. Where 360 fans searching to see if God of War 3 is coming to XBOX.

Someone explain, it's too early in the morning. Am I missing something.

candystop5875d ago

Maybe they were typing GOW3 instead of GEOW3.

360 man5875d ago

god of war 3. a game that came out months and months ago. compared to a game thats yet to come out or even an ingame trailer yet to be seen.

lool im pretty sure people were looking for gears of war 3

GiggMan5875d ago

Whoops my apologies lol. I told you it was early, rough morning. lol

CYCLEGAMER5875d ago (Edited 5875d ago )

You know this website oh so well my friend. Here they come!

Double Toasted5875d ago

How is this news? Did people think it would really go the other way? SMH

Christopher5875d ago (Edited 5875d ago )

This is extremely skewed. He is using an unfiltered method to track this rather than basing it on the category of games. This means it includes business search responses, such as from retailers, as well. Guess what, those are the largest hit responses and most of the games on that list aren't even listed on them yet.

I'm putting together a list that is specific to the 'Games' category for a better analysis. Give me a bit and I'll post it.

============================= ===================
EDIT - Google Analysis Image Attached
============================= ===================

I don't know why the author used their own point system based on Google numbers already to determine interest since Google already tracks it. But, without any fudging, searching within Google's 'Games' category rather than all categories that include retail sites, not including small games not really in the media (Move/Natal specific-titles) and including a lot of multiplatform games in the list, here's what I came up with.

http://img404.imageshack.us...

You'll note that the top-tier games tend to average out to about the same in the last 30 days.

1112223335875d ago

Yup, this is exactly what I said below.

caladbolg7775875d ago

Then damn I must be doing a good job.

Microsoft pays me $9/hr to search "XBOX 360", "Gears of War 3" and "Halo: Reach" all day in Google in an effort to skew Google Ads data. It's boring work, but somebody's got to do it.

Don't hate me, Sony fans. I'm just doing my job.

MiloGarret5875d ago

This is the best comment I've seen in a while.

dantesparda5875d ago

I see that its video game politics as usual. Stupid shit, but oh well whatever floats the fanboy's dick,. Out!

Microsoft Gaming Revenue Drops 7% Year-on-Year, Content and Services Down 5%, Xbox Hardware Down 33%

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio73d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing73d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9273d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit73d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing73d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9273d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

andy8576d ago

Lets be honest raising prices doesn't do that when no one's buying it. I imagine the profit it greater selling 10 times more at a lower price

Pergele75d ago

Whatever you say buddy, let's all wear the tinfoil hats.

IceKoldKilla75d ago (Edited 75d ago )

LMFAO Your comment alone says a lot more about you than anything else. When has one game not selling 10 million copies made a company raise the prices of their console? Then Xbox would be costing $5000 by now lol. You remind of the crazy drug addicts on the street rambling on about conspiracies. xD You sure you don't need a hug, buddy?

ChunkyMonk75d ago

One game that Sony payed $200 million for. lol
Also, you sure were quick to get triggered. Maybe your the one who needs a hug?

If nothing else, we should be united against the real issue here. AI and unnecessary tariffs that are effecting all gamers.

Athlon10176d ago (Edited 76d ago )

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

S2Killinit75d ago

Its not the war. Its the RAM issue.

jznrpg75d ago

War is causing gas prices to rise. Transport of everything requires gas so the prices of those items go up as well. So it does have an impact

Athlon10175d ago (Edited 75d ago )

The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

badz14975d ago

Oh no...should I get the Pro now before the price increase?

Xbox boss: Memory crisis could impact next-gen hardware pricing

Xbox boss Asha Sharma has discussed how component shortages will impact the company's plans for Project Helix.

gamedeveloper.com
Eonjay75d ago

When does this end? Its killing everyone. Consoles and PC. And for what? AI? The benefits of AI are completely outweighed by the negatives. And the government should have never allowed one company to buy up all the RAM.

Lexreborn276d ago

This kind of proves this is an after thought product, most products like this are in r&d 5 years before they start mass producing. So they typically have the cost of components and things worked out long before assembly starts.

This is an assumption still, but I wouldn’t be surprised if project helix is similar to Scalebound, perfect dark and sod3. They had an idea but no actual execution other than concept stage. Being impacted by the ram shortage likely would also put this device 3-4 years out.

I’m not even sure MS has that endurance with Xbox yet

Fishy Fingers76d ago (Edited 76d ago )

I mean.... what?

We're at a point that Samsung wont even provide their own phone department ram because they can sell it at higher prices to 3rd parties (AI). Its more profitable to sell the ram than make their own devices with it.

You think because R&D starts 5 years ago the 3rd party component manufacturers will honour that price? They'll sell it to whomever is paying the most today, not some gentlemens agreement they made years ago. AI farms will buy more volume at higher prices than any console manufacturer will. It'll be the same for Playstation.

Lexreborn275d ago

Contractual agreements are not the same as “gentlemen” agreements. If you think that they work with their distributors a month before production then their entire business model is trash. They work with companies like nvidia constantly for building the graphics cards they need. They work with companies that build motherboards years in advance. This is what proper business planning does.

They are not buying components on a whim like a consumer. So again, considering the ram isn’t a singular module and is integrated into the motherboard I highly doubt they wouldn’t have a final schematic that they are supposed to be building around.

If they are delaying production another 3 years then it’s obvious again this is an after though project and is just trying to be responsive to their bad execution they had the last 14 years.

It also isn’t far fetched to use their failure to produce first party titles the last 7 years including the highly anticipated games I mentioned all being cancelled. That they would continue to you know… lie

Sitdown75d ago

You don't really know how this works huh?

Profchaos76d ago (Edited 76d ago )

Helix is going to be stupidly expensive

Instead of leaning into smarter upscaling techniques they're brute forcing hardware that will cost them dearly and it remains to be seen if it's genuinely going to provide a meaningful differential

I know in the oc.doace people like to brag about not using frame gen or dlss to get to high on a game but for the majority of players they happily use those technologies without a second thought

That's going to be ps6 vs Helix

Eonjay75d ago

Yeah with FSR 5 they should be able to offer a much cheaper version of Helix.

Eonjay75d ago

While this does seem to be the case, I am encouraged by the statement from Microsoft about wanting to provide affordable options. If this means a Series S style Helix, at least there will be something affordable being offered.

XBManiac75d ago

Series S is what has killed Xbox Series so... Will they dare?

blacktiger76d ago

It's called systematic inflationary. Yes we get it Microsoft, keep raising in the name ofall kinds of stuffs

pwnmaster300075d ago

Honestly if there was thing I learned from this generation is that new consoles arnt day one anymore.
I can wait 1-3 years.

DarXyde75d ago

Another important lesson from this generation: while Nintendo showed us that prices don't necessarily need to ever drop, we've now learned that waiting 1-3 years does carry some risk that prices increase. This generation is just bizarre in all the wrong ways.

LucasRuinedChildhood75d ago (Edited 75d ago )

The factors are largely external. Covid and Russia-Ukraine war causing inflation led to the first price increase in 2022.

Then we get Trump's tariffs increasing hardware prices, AI boom causing a RAM crisis, war on Iran causing a worldwide fuel crisis which impacts the cost of everything.

Gaming doesn't exist in a vacuum. The last few years have been a shitshow and lot of it was definitely avoidable.

DarXyde75d ago

LucasRuinedChildhood,

For sure. No disagreement on the external factors doing a lot of this. Where I have to gently push back however is on two fronts:

1. The pandemic definitely caused some issues: asynchronous development was a big issue and really complicated timelines and affected game quality. At the same time, when it comes to price hikes, it's really difficult to know what was genuine necessity and what was taking consumers for a ride. The pandemic brought about "stag-flation" which was increasing prices and stagnant wages, which was a problem caused by supply chain constraints. There was also "Greed-flation", where companies that were slightly affected or had no issues took advantage of the situation and squeezed everyone citing supply chain issues when there were none.

2. It's definitely true that the tariffs, AI boom, and RAM crisis were all things enabled by tech broligarchs throwing money at this caricature of a world leader, one of them being Satya Nadella. I don't think Sony and Nintendo have contributed much to this problem if at all, but Microsoft's Nadella I feel was instrumental in causing every one of those issues. Microsoft as a company contributed to both candidates (though they gave Harris 4x as much if I recall), but Nadella was all in on letting AI run wild. He paid for unregulated AI, and got a war that's not a war (even though Trump called it that at least five times on television) that screwed up helium access. So for me, I feel that one of the players in the gaming industry is a key architect of these issues, and for that reason I struggle a bit to think of it as "external".
