Cliffy B's a Legend...Nuff Said.

scofios5815d ago (Edited 5815d ago )

I also heard he's getting the nobel price .
For his "legendary deeds."

RageAgainstTheMShine5815d ago (Edited 5815d ago )

It was that Xbox Magazine's fault. Typographical error they say.

How can an Xbox Magazine pressent a bad image of Gear's of War director?

Oh wait..... (*thinks of Greenberg and sensational journalism)....

Greywulf5815d ago (Edited 5815d ago )

I don't like CB because hes a tool, and because the unreal engine is dated yet hes acting as if hes a crysis dev.. The man didn't write the engine.. UE is great, but its past its prime. Gabe Newell has more going for himself, and he could totally act like CB, but doesn't. Epic ships completely busted games that they aren't trying their absolute hardest on, and it shows. That would earn a bit more respect, but no.. lamborghini and announcing games like hes a mid 90's actor instead.

Gaming Journalism is a joke, for example... as much as I don't like the guy...

He did ask that journalist refer to him by his full name. Not "Cliffy B."

This guy is making and excuse like a butthurt fanboy "BUH BUH WE CAN'T DO REALZ JOURNALISM" then stop making up bullshit articles for hits that get you called tabloid journalist.

Stop writing articles that end in Question marks...

Its nonsense, im glad this conversation is finally happening. Because the main reason gaming is seen as an immature hobby is due to these morons highlighting and supporting fanboy nonsense...

No one is qualified in gaming journalism, its literally TheMart@Xboxkings and his 12 year old friends writing articles all around. Even good sites have stooped into being douchebags hiding behind blogs and internet anonymity.

I commend C.B for calling a spade a spade. Actual gaming journalism may be boring, but it will be less sensational, and actual news.

People pretend theres "BEEF" Between Sony & MS as if its lindsay lohan and paris hilton.

Tards.

poopface15815d ago

I will never give the gaming press the benefit of the doubt because many of their articles are just flame bait to get hits or are completely stupid and could be avoided if these "writers" did ONE min. of research.

For example:

There was an rumor article here saying that EAs NFL licenses might have expired and we might see another NFL2k game soon.

After 1 minuet on google I found that the reason that the PC football game could use the teams was because Ea's license is for console games and that the players had to be licensed separately through the players association anyways. The game only will have a few real players in it as they cant get the permission for all of them.

If the writer had done some research he would know the truth that the game having the NFL teams in it does not mean the contract is up.

I guess these blog writers just want any article to generate hits, regardless of how stupid and unreliable it makes them look.

R2D25815d ago (Edited 5815d ago )

I know that this has been going on for a long time but HHG took it to another level with his over the top headline and stupid rumors.

HHG if your reading this I am going to punch you in the face and beat you with that fake belt if I see you at E3.

PoSTedUP5815d ago

but then again, this is videogames, not Eyewitness News. you're going to have kids making sites to make their own articles and post them. but if you look at it, the devs and the industry go back and forth at eachother the same way. if you're not use to this by now or dont like it, your in the wrong place. this will never change. it is entertaining imo but i know when to avoid the bullpoo articles. this is videogames, this is a way of life. XD

knight6265815d ago

i wont consider him a legend just yet but he has done a lot for the gaming industry but not legend wise

aryan_irani5815d ago

gears 3 will be a huge hit on the 360

Cliffy B is the man. He is like a mix between game developer and a rock star. As far as I'm concerned making the Gears games has given him the right to say what he want's, that and this little thing called freedom of speech.

rezzah5815d ago

Lol freedom of speech is overated. Thats what they want you to think, that you have the right to say what you want as you please.

SOAD5815d ago

Freedom is overrated until they take it away from you.

Spend six months in solitary confinement with your mouth wired shut and tell us how freedom feels after that.

Pink_Uni5815d ago

freedom of speech is more like

if people like what you say they promote it

when they hate what you say, if its a website they ban you, if its a community they stop talking to you, if its a activist they call you a terrorist.

Disney Should Buy Fortnite And Epic Games, Former Exec Says

The Walt Disney Company's new CEO, Josh D'Amaro, is a big fan of video games, and one former Disney executive believes D'Amaro would be smart to do even more in gaming going forward. This could include a buyout of a gaming company like Epic Games.

In an interview with CNBC, Kevin Mayer--a former Disney and TikTok executive who now runs Candle Media--said D'Amaro will need to take "bold steps" to help Disney make more money and grow its stock price. One part of this could be doing more in gaming, he said.

Apparently nobody remembers the absolute shitshow that happened when EA brought the Havok engine which was used as the default engine of the 6th generation like UE is used today.

SkilledGamer42d ago

You've got it wrong, EA bought Renderware not Havok. Havok was bought by Intel in 2007 and then Microsoft in 2015

Fishy Fingers42d ago (Edited 42d ago )

Nor was it ever a widely used or considered, game engine, Renderware was. It was and still is a physics/material simulation plugin for the actual game engines.

Profchaos42d ago

Yeah you're right i was thinking of Renderware. But point still stands Renderware was used literally everywhere from games like GTA 3,VC,SA to Sonic games and Tony hawk it was really the default industry wide engine that UE is today.

If Disney takes over Epic and UE we could face a situation where they change the terms of use for other game devs big and small. They could remove the licensing agreements currently in place and impose a payment per download model like Unity did which could cripple the industry.

TOTSUKO42d ago

Fck Disney stock and their shareholders.

blacktiger42d ago

Well I can imagine DIsney with their transgender Snowwhite and black cinderally and mermaid and other garbage. Imagine video games lmao!!!

shinXseijuro42d ago

You sound like a fun person to be around .

Huey_My_D_Long41d ago

Dumbass cant even spell Cinderella but apparently he's upset by the 1997 Cinderella classic starring Brandy. Almost 20 year old movie.
Just say you dont like black people man, we all know it.

rlow142d ago

I really hope this doesn’t happen. They ruin everything that they buy. Terrible company

Zerobalance42d ago (Edited 42d ago )

Trolling. Hope Disney take the Maval characters like Spider-Man and Wolverine away from Sony and make it themselves that would me laugh so hard.

"It is going to get so much worse in the video game industry...This will get worse and going to be bad and it's going to eventually get better." -Greg Miller right before it got worse

Agent7545d ago

Too many games, too many versions, download only games, game pricing, £700+ consoles, eye watering prices for controllers, four formats, gaming is one big mess.

gold_drake44d ago

id argue that epic games has alot of other revenue income other than fortnite, so their reasoning makes zero sense.
