they needed more time to work on his neckbeard render.

Pandamobile5817d ago

That neckbeard better be absolutely flawless when the game releases.

madkrazygames5817d ago

Yea I doubt it. R* is really starting to disappoint me with their bullsh!t. I bet you LA Noire gets push back as well. RDR is probably the last title we're going to play this year from R*.

ReservoirDog3165817d ago

Well, R* rarely hits a bad note (GTA IV is debateable since it's an acquired taste cause it's so slow paced but I loved it) so you should have some faith in them. I mean RDR was delayed multiple times but we ended up getting one of the best open world games ever.

Plus I just saw the movie City of God and it takes place where MP3 takes place. Could be good.

Just don't doubt them. I've never played a bad R* game (haven't played them all but you get my point I hope).

Blaze9295817d ago

It's not Rockstars fault - it's Take-Two. How many times was BioShock 2 delayed? Mafia 2? Red Dead Redemption? Take-Two seems to be delaying all their titles for some reason.

RememberThe3575817d ago

If the game gets delayed out of the fall then it's probably because the dev asked for more time. But it really doesn't matter, there are a ton of titles coming out in the fall and all of them are huge names.

It's probably best for them to take their time to polish it and then release it in a less crowded schedule. They'll probably release it around the same time RDR of released this year.

sabestar5817d ago

I just hope they change it all and go back to MP's dark style again

PirateThom5817d ago

Better make it like the other games instead.

PirateThom5817d ago

9 disagrees?

All I see are 9 people who never played the other games if they think this is a good style choice.

DecoyOctopus5817d ago (Edited 5817d ago )

exactly! the first two games are masterpieces... this looks nothing like it! it looks like they made a game and then put on the name "max payne" afterwards... also i heard that the game has been delayed because of all the negative feedback they received from real max payne fans and started from scratch and making it more like the first two games... hope its true!

SOAD5817d ago

I guess your comment sounded vague. But, yeah, this game looks nothing like the original Max Payne games. The noire style has been replaced with a generic buff guy shooter.

Arnon5817d ago

Agreed. Remedy is a very small development team that focuses on heavy story-driven games. If they screw that up and focus solely on gameplay and bullet-time, I'm going to be pretty mad.

They could probably call it anything and get away with it if it's story isn't big.

take your time take2, no-one wants a rushed game

Rockstar launches official marketplace for mods

Rockstar has launched an official marketplace for "every server and every player" to buy mods: Cfx Marketplace.

I wonder how much of this isn't just taken work of others who have modded for free.

Edit: Also, great way for R* to take popular ideas and build them into GTAVI based on demand.

fr0sty116d ago

What I see happening here is, R* is going to ban mods in GTA6 UNLESS you buy them from the marketplace and R* then gets a cut of that sale.

ActualWhiteMan116d ago

Ah, perfect timing with them taking down the Bully online fan mod. Greedy a$$ company.

Christopher116d ago

It's okay as long as they get a cut of the money.

fr0sty116d ago

Expect R* to force it on you.

Snookies12116d ago

Yep, right there with you. I'll happily donate to a mod creator if it looks really cool, or if I enjoy it. But expecting payment up front? Nope, not touching it.

IanTH116d ago (Edited 116d ago )

I'm not entirely sure how to read this, as it doesn't seem exactly like an exact parallel to Bethesda's paid mods shenanigans.

Rather than single player stuff, this appears to be aimed solely on Cfx Servers. From what I've gleaned, apparently Rockstar bought the Cfx mod team several years ago, coming a few years after weird contentions led them to ban a few of their members. Ultimately, the question is if they plan to keep this contained to only online/servers.

I have to guess to a degree yes. It'd be pretty hard to "force" paid mods for single player when modding files locally on your own machine, but much easier for servers they'll control. So perhaps this is their soft launch ahead of GTA6 online and they'll clamp down more tightly on non-official servers going forward? Ever since they've become a 1 or 2 property studio, I haven't really cared much for Rockstar stuff, so I'm not entirely up on everything surrounding this. Sounds like it has the potential to be problematic further down the line, but right now fairly easy to ignore...I think lol.

They were involved in protected Union activities and Rockstar will be in trouble with the NLRB.

DarXyde168d ago

You think this NLRB will lift a finger?

Ps5conehead168d ago

Watch the video this is in England

gerbintosh168d ago

Basically this is Rockstar vs the Union members word. These employees could be cherry picking or spoofing the chat logs.Rockstar could be lying. I will withhold judgment until Discord is subpoened and releases the chat group text from their servers.

Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser explains why open world spy game Agent never worked out

A rare interview from the former GTA and Red Dead Redemption writer and executive producer.

dveio191d ago

Interesting to know.

Among MGS4, Agent was the reason I wanted and bought a PS3. (Who knew we would get other gems like Killzone 2 and TLoU.)

I always assumed it got cancelled due to hardware restrictions even at that time.

Deeeeznuuuts191d ago

Such a shame, I remember first reading about it in official playstation magazine, Agent and The Getaway are the two cancelled games I wish I could play 😩

Christopher190d ago

Because it had to be open world, of course. Couldn't change that and make the Agent game work otherwise. Totally buying it.

Redgrave190d ago

I used to laugh whenever I'd see someone cite Agent as a game to look forward to, because it was never officially canceled (at least, as far as I've seen.)

"It's still real to me, dammit!"
