its gunna be so good >_<
but ramping up his powers?
i mean by the time i beat the first my powers were pretty epic
youll be able to take out a whole city!

TheHater5823d ago

I like the sound of that :)
I am very curious to see what these "new" powers are.
Where are those dam scans?

rockleex5823d ago (Edited 5823d ago )

That way the comic strip cutscenes wouldn't stand out too much.

They could also do in-game comic strip cutscenes too, with cel-shading.

I want a seamless experience like Uncharted 2! ^_^

Oh yea, and I want his powers to be less shooter-like and more action-like. Focus more on AOE(Area of Effect) powers and melee powers.

It would also be awesome if Cole can run on walls. If he can combat WHILE running on walls would make me speechless!

captain-obvious5823d ago

okay we need a bigger city this time
am I the only one the felt that the city was small a lil bit ??

don't get me wrong i loved it and i love the design
but it felt a lil bit small

raztad5823d ago (Edited 5823d ago )

Yeah it was kinda of small. Still I prefer a small and tight open world game, than a huge landscape filled with repetitiveness and time waster minigames. Give me a good variety of missions that help to build your main character and push the narrative forward.

GWAVE5823d ago

The first game was incredibly good but very underrated and ignored (like many of the PS3's amazing games). I hope the media will swallow its pride for once and give the second game a chance.

Tomdc5823d ago

how was it underated?! it got a great reception. It sold pretty good as well but it takes a bit for a series to get going on PS3. Uncharted 2 sold a lot more than Uncharted 1.

Marquis_de_Sade5822d ago

What?! The first game scored 85 on Metacritic, by no means a bad score.

Tomdc5823d ago

yeah but i always felt way more powerful in prototype, so they could definitely do more. I'd like some more short range stuff as opposed to a lot of shooting attacks :)

firelogic5823d ago

The problem with Prototype for me was that there were TOO MANY powers and they just threw them at you right from the beginning. There was no focus, not to mention most of them sucked.

I tend to prefer a more focused game like Infamous where they dealt out upgrades at a steady pace that made sense in the context of the story. Also gives you time to get used to it and upgrade it a little before you're given the next one.

Just my 2 cents.

modest-genius5823d ago

You were not supposed to feel all-powerful in inFamous though, Cole is at a very early age with his powers, plus he's more like a spider-man tpye character anyway, he can stand a bit of a beating but relies on dodging mostly.

Hardbladestone5822d ago

Can't wait for this game-- platinumed the first-- dammmm shards i hope they take them out.

Nitrowolf25823d ago

sounds good
Infamous 1 was awesome
I hope Cole voice isn't to different i liked his voice in 1, glad that they are keeping the comic style cutscene (that made the game so great) along adding real cutsecene

ExgamerLegends25823d ago

WOULD BE THE PERFECT VOICE ACTOR!!!!!!!!!

midgard2275823d ago

steve blum or crispin freeman......but rather have steve lol

Aphe5823d ago

I'M GLAD YOU THINK THAT WAY! MAYBE HE WILL BE! IT MIGHT BE SOMEONE ELSE THOUGH!!!!

vickers5005823d ago

I liked the original voice actor AND the character design. He looked so casual and badass in the first one. Now from the gameinformer cover, he just looks kind of lame. Cole needs to be bald. Oh well, just as long as the character doesn't look too generic, then I guess it's fine with me, but if they pick Nolan North to do the voice of Cole, I'll shoot myself. He does way too many voice over games, and cannot play a serious voice. He's more of the goofy/jokester/prankster/wise cracker.

Nitrowolf25823d ago

Nolan North as Cole?
He is a good voice actor but like you said he is more of a joke type and works well with it.

Strange_Evil5823d ago (Edited 5823d ago )

I liked Infamous, but there are a few things I'll like it to change...
1)Update the graphics a bit. There was evident Aliasing and the texture quality was low res and a few character models were frankly atrocious.
2)Make controls tighter. Infamous had a floaty controller feel.

I am happy to hear they have moved the camera in... Gives it a more TPS kind feel. Also happy to hear that climbing things will be a little more tactical... Infamous had a good mechanism, but something like Assassin's Creed 2 where it has a free run kind system can add much needed variety.

A change in the wind5823d ago

Wow, really? I thought infamous had some of the best controls I`ve played in recent times...played like a dream.

grailly5823d ago

yeah, the game made it very easy to get around and up buildings, but climbing up a building came down to smashing the X button, I wouldn't mind sucker punch to make it a bit more strategic.

Strange_Evil5823d ago (Edited 5823d ago )

It's just a preference.. Dunno, I played Infamous just a month back and after playing KZ2 and BFBC2, I feel every game should have a weighty feeling lol. But in Infamous, if you jump, then it just feels like you float for a sec.

Also, I found it really effortless to climb a building. I also played AC2 before it and even though both use different mechanism, I feel Infamous can take a few cues from AC2... AC2's Free run was challenging and at the same time fun, but Infamous was like 'press X 20 times to climb' which really felt dated at the end.

despair5823d ago (Edited 5823d ago )

@Strange_Evil

Again you're right about controls being subjective. I really hated AC2's free run and climbing, it really annoyed me. The way i see it is that infamous building climbing was designed that way to avoid the same problems I had with AC2, the cumbersome feeling you get for doing the very basic action of climbing.

I lost count the number of times i died in AC2 because of a stupid jump or missed ledge, not so in infamous.

strickers5823d ago

I didn't mind the floaty feel but I know the graphics will be better. The first one was based on their PS2 graphics engine and updated. This time round they will have a full PS3 graphics engine with the backing of some Sony in house tech.I have very little complaints of the first except the difficulty spikes,I'd rather have a bit more even ramp up of difficulty.

grailly5823d ago

I found that the game was overall quite easy, but I didn't see much difference between the hard and normal mode

sorceror1715822d ago

Actually, I don't think it was their PS2 engine exactly... it was a new engine, but they were coming from the PS2 and certainly hadn't learned everything about the PS3.

I'm sure the graphics will get a good jump for the sequel, either way.

midgard2275823d ago

i didnt think it felt floaty, i actually hated AC2 controls when it came to scaling buildings. i mean u wud try to chase someone and ezio would just jump off by him self and die or land in haystack.....im like wtf. i beat the game but thought they cuda tightened the controls.

i cnt wait for Infamous 2, its gonna be epic. i think he needs a speed dash in the air and ground, like a short burst of speed in the air, that haas energy around him and damages things,

or a speed burst on the floor that electrify's the floor and leaves a trail like electric circuit...maybe im thinkin to much :p

Ravage275823d ago

anyway, where are the scans?!!?!?!

Raf1k15823d ago

I wonder if you start off with the powers the first game ended with and then build up on them.

Nitrowolf25823d ago

i dodbt they always do that in games, you might start with them but you'll end up loosing them some how

despair5823d ago

would be awesome if you did though, planetary destruction level powers by the time you finished...that would be incredible.

firelogic5823d ago (Edited 5823d ago )

It would make more sense to start out with your full arsenal and just expand on those while adding new powers. All you need to do is scale the enemies to be as powerful as they were at the end of the last game and increase their difficulty as you go as you get more powerful yourself.

In the context of the story it doesn't make sense to lose everything because the whole point of the first game was to prepare Cole to fight The Beast. So now in the sequel he suddenly loses everything and starts from scratch? That would be very disappointing.

Starting powerful makes sense too in the sense that the world has become survival of the fittest. As time goes on, the strong will get stronger and the weak will die off. :)

SpaceFox5823d ago

Cant wait, sounds like it's gonna be awesome. But I'm curious how they can implement a new city. The explosion that caused the chaos in the first place only affected Empire City, so I'm wondering what happened in between both games that is affecting other cities.

inFamous 3: We Want A Second Son Sequel

Fans of the action-adventure franchise have been eagerly awaiting news of a potential sequel to one of the best games on the PS4.

Alexious1088d ago

I want it too. Make it co-op as well.

-Foxtrot1088d ago

Yeah they had a lightning bolt in the shape of a question mark at the end of Infamous 2

They always went off the good ending for Cole so I think for Delsin it should be the bad ending

What he did in the bad ending, absorbing everyone’s powers, seemed like he was going to turn into something powerful.

Makes you feel like he could have been the real Beast and John was just an anomaly because of them messing with time

Sets up a Cole vs Delsin showdown

lukasmain1088d ago

How would fans feel about a reboot? You know to bring a new audience in? Not a good idea? Good idea?

anast1087d ago

Not a god idea. They let it sit for too long and the game hasn't been strong enough to carry itself all these years. There is so much other stuff out there right now.

masterfox1088d ago

Second Son was released in 2014 was an amazing game visually and gameplay wise, sometimes I play it again on the PS5 and seeing it run at 60 fps is something to behold(yes an almost 10 year old game), if you haven't done that on your PS5 try it you won't be disappointed, pure eye candy, a PS5 exclusive of Infamous would be amazing no doubt.

gold_drake1088d ago

meh, i want Cole to come back.

or maybe a reboot. with cole.

Older PlayStation games that we'd love to see on the PlayStation 5

From Xfire: "For a company with a three-decade-long history in gaming, Sony has done a crappy job at preserving its legacy. "

Flawlessmic1478d ago (Edited 1478d ago )

Welshy1478d ago

Flawlessmic1478d ago (Edited 1478d ago )

Latest RPCS3 build brings major improvements in Metal Gear Solid 4, inFamous 2, Ninja Gaiden & more

A brand new version of the best Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, brings major graphical improvements in Metal Gear Solid 4, inFamous 2, Ninja Gaiden & more.

If the PC can emulate the PS3, then for sure the PS5 would be able to do same. but dose Sony want it?

Mr Logic2141d ago

If there was money in it, then Sony would do it. People can bitch and moan all they want, but even if every person on this site used BC, that would still be a tiny fraction of gamers. Almost nobody really uses BC.

DethWish2141d ago (Edited 2141d ago )

I think there would be money if they made PS3 games downloadable through PSNow and added a bunch more.
Edit: I would get it if MGS4 was available

Mr Logic2141d ago

@DethWish

That would be an emulator. You're not making any sense.

DethWish2141d ago

Mr Logic, really? If PS5 could emulate PS3 games (BC) and PSNow would let you download and play PS3 games locally instead of streaming (like it lets you download PS4 games), wouldn't that be awesome? PSNow has some really interesting PS3 games, but I'd prefer to play them locally

MadLad2141d ago

Really?
Remasters of popular games do extremely well. MS basically hands them out for free. If people didn't want to play older games, then why do remasters sell so well?

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 2141d ago
anonymousfan2141d ago

I honestly would probably never ever use it... But I still think it would be pretty neat. Its one of the few avantages PC still has on console that is complete backwards compatibility. But for all the work needed to implement this I doubt it would be worth Sony's time.

Melankolis2141d ago

In my opinion.
The difference is independent emulator developer can build any emulator as an experiment that will be perfected for years, maybe more than 10 years. During that time, expect many glitch, bugs, and updates. They can do that because they do not have any obligation towards PC users or whatsoever.

Fos Sony, once they announce PS5 will be able to play PS3 games, they have to make it safe and playable for users. They do not want the emulator cause bricks, glitch, heating up or anything to the consoles and get sued for that.

Harkins17212141d ago

The amount of work it would require sony for each game probably isn't worth it. Maybe after rpcs3 is done they can patent it and use it. That's the dream lol

This has been going on for years any full game playable yet

EazyC2141d ago

Wish I never sold my PS3 for MGS IV alone, I'm dying to play it again

Gamerking822141d ago (Edited 2141d ago )

Any ps3 owner has too own this masterpiece . My disk drive has just gone on my old super slim . So I bought the digital version no questions ask . If you have a ps3 own this masterpiece that’s all I can say . I replay it every year and still find loads of enjoyment . The last true metal gear in my opinion . V was good and gameplay amazing , but it’s just not a metal gear quality story wise .
