I just started this game last night, just the player creation had me upset. You choose male but they stand like a female. Eyebrows are all effeminate, face, and verything seems to be modeled after a female with a thin male overlay.
I only played the opening and didn’t even complete that before I turned the game off. I will likely go back and try it again, but a very weird first impression.
The franchise has been complete utter garbage for almost 20 years. The first one was the only decent game of the lot of them.

Honestly Janky Generic feeling titles with Humor that tried to way too hard. People criticize Borderlands for its humor, but holy hell, still leagues better than any SR.
Somehow, Saints Row returned. Well, kind of. In a giddy post on the Saints Row subreddit, a lead on the original game in the Saints Row series announced that someone, somewhere might be interested in firing up Volition's (RIP) open-world crime games once more.

It always boggles my mind how developers like these get their hands on well known IPs and completely butcher it into a terrible mess.
My problem is I’ve played all of them but probably collectively an hour a piece for each. Never really got into them and always got them on discount. I wonder if that’s just the general consensus on this game. Because doesn’t feel like any of them are really worth it
To me Saints Row is one of those series that got a foothold in people's minds because the first game was in the right place at the right time (I'd put Dead Rising in the same category). In 2006 when the original came out, people were desperate for new games to play on the 360, and people were not nearly as burnt out on open world games as they are now. So the first one filled a void and served as a showcase for a new console that people were very excited about at the time.
I think the funniest thing to me was the Pecker sword in 3 but overall 3 was a pretty terrible game. I tell myself I want to go back and retry the remake of each version and I just don't feel like taking it to 1080p is going to change a pretty mediocre game at it's core
Get rid of the regenerating health, or only have a certain food type that regenerates health a bit. Regenerating health + food seems a bit much but just IMO.. I always found that a bit stupid.
The wait for GTA 6 is painful, but for less than $6 you can pass the time with the overhated Saints Row reboot on your Steam Deck right now.
This was free on something at some point, so I decided to check it out. It's definitely properly rated.
This game don't even let you fly. It's taking a step back if you ask me. The game looks pretty good, an im looking to pick this one up, but is their anything this game got that gta doesn't.
Well it has online play, everything else is unannounced
I think graphically it is on the level of GTA. The next gen part in it, is the online gameplay with multiple people online in GTA think of it.
It would be a crazy thing! And ofcourse, it's an early build up till release. I am curious what will be upgraded from now.
i made the below statment on 1st post but wanted everyone to read it...btw this blows GTA away in graphics. the cars, lighting, everything. and what they have done with the way you shoot out of the car is great:
they must have a different demo than the public released demo...because it run smooth as silk. i played the demo, then went to gamestop and preordered my copy.
this is going to be fun...the havok engine is going to make some holy $hi% moments.
i shot a guy in the street for example and he fell down with his a$$ sticking straight up in the air.
i went to shot him one more time...as i raised my gun a truck nailed him at full speed...i think his rear is still stuck in the grill.
