Console for two reasons. PC's have to be upgraded everytime a new game comes out, consoles don't. And PC don't have nintendo or playstation exclusives.

I'd say PC, you have more to do then on a console and a more diverse game library that dates ages back. (plus the ability to emulate thousands of games from older consoles on the PC is great)

Though not having even just a single console means that you're missing out on gaming.

That's why gaming PC+console is the best way to go imo.

Neither, they both offer great games. Play the games you want, on the platforms you have.

To me this generation is consoles because imo the most talented developers are working on consoles and the best games are console exclusives. Games>>hardware... DRM doesnt help either.

Or get the PS3 + PC combination and have the best of both worlds.

Wow there is not even a answer for this because its up to the person what they wanna game on. For me the PS3 simply I got my God of war 3, killzone little big planet ff13 mag uncharted 2 and other games that is not on the PC. For other people Pc is better simply because of hardware performance and some find it better to play on that instead of a console. Every person will have a different answer so there is no answer to this question. If it was which is stronger PC or consoles then of course PC has the advantage there.

It was a tough transition (specifically the controller) but I couldn't be happier. I'm an IT professional and I hated coming home and having to roll back drivers and download patches and eff with .ini files and replace .dll files just to make a game work like it should - then deal with spyware and viruses on top of all that....man I do that stuff all day at work I don't want to do it when I game.

Having said that - I'm getting a new PC for Starcraft 2 lol It's all about the games (which is why I have a Wii, 360 and PS3).

I could give some of the best PC gamers a challenge and MW2 with my PS3 DS3 with fps freeks. Now my 360 with fps freeks not too sure if I could give them a challenge since I am more accurate on PS3.

Depends on what you're doing I suppose. I don't know that I would ever play a competitive multiplayer game on a PC, too much cheating. However from a technical standpoint a PC can out perform a console every time. Personally I prefer consoles due to cost and ease of use.

A standard spec sheet on any given console gives devs a level playing field to develop to the strengths of those specs. PC leaves them guessing. They know they can always go further, but it becomes too easy to go too far; Always at the cost of market share.

Scalability is the best way that they've come up with to deal with the issue, but you never know if/when you're getting the developer's real vision on your screen. Maybe your shaders aren't what they expected. Maybe the lighting is different. Maybe the frame rate is suffering.

I like knowing that the game I'm playing is the same as the one it's developers are playing.

looking at ps3 exclusives not multiplats ps3 looks like the stronger platform, oh and i know "sub hd" and "30fps" so what when i see gow3 and uncharted 2 or any of the best ps3 exclusives on pc running at "high hd" and "60fps" then you can talk down about ps3 and its visuals

It's all subjective. I prefer the games offered on console. Hence why it's console for me.

Consoles have the best gaming library period. I only use my PC for RTS/MMOs everything else goes to my PS3.

Also at the PC fanboys stop overhyping the ability to play in 1080p because the fact is your game will have fps issues or might not even be in high quality in terms of textures I have a pretty nice gaming computer and I know that just because you put your game in 1080 doesnt mean it will look AND run good. You need a beast 400 dollar graphic card to run 1080p @ 60fps for high end games.

Edit: @ below ps3 is now 4 years old and that 2 year old card 2 years ago was like 350 dollars when it released. Sure now you can buy cards on par with consoles for around 150-200 dollars but thats not the only thing that you need you need ram memory 2gigs can be around 50 dollars itself and processors run you a lot of money. Later I will build a better computer but it will cost me at least 700 dollars to be stronger than my ps3 including all parts not just gfx card.

For just various reasons, I loathe it. Which sucks for me because I love point 'n' click adventure games, but there you go. I wish somebody out there would release the likes of The Curse Of Monkey Island, The Longest Journey and Grim Fandango on PSN/Xbox Live.

Its better to play on a console. That's what games was made for, PC is not a console. Its just able to play games. It can be upgraded numerous of times, while a console can't. Still to say its better because of graphics is stupid. PS3 can look just as good and uses BR while both 360 and PC still uses DVD and CD respectively.

It depends on how you rate which is "better".

In terms of performance, It's a no brainer. Even a mid range gaming PC will easily outperform a console. But getting decent performance for the minimum price requires a little know how on the users part. If you aren't willing to build a PC yourself (a skill anyone interested in technology should learn), then pre-built systems will look very expensive. But of course there are ways around this, I don't know many seasoned PC builders who'd turn down putting together another system, It's an enjoyable experience.

As for features, again PC's have a major advantage, as a gaming PC can of course be used as a regular desktop computer. Whereas consoles are more media centers, being able to play music or films, with a couple of ad ons as well, like a basic web browser on the PS3. PC's can also use any controller if that's your thing, and can be connected to a large TV if you don't like monitors, so using "it's uncomfortable" as an excuse is moronic.

PC's also have the edge with in-game features, such as dedicated servers, free DLC (although fading because of consoles), and mods that can extend the life of games for years.

If we determine by games, then it's entirely subjective. Someone may prefer certain genres that only a PC can provide, such as RTS or MMOs, and someone may prefer certain games only found on one platform, which holds true for any system. Saying a platform is superior by default because of its exclusive games is ridiculous, as every platform has it's own "must have" games, with the quality of these games being entirely subjective. If we're talking sheer numbers of games, the PC outdoes any console, but quantity does no equal quality in any case.

I know I sound biased towards PC gaming, but that's because I personally prefer PC gaming. But I have owned loads of consoles over my past 15 years as a gamer, and will probably continue to by both for quite some time.

forget pc. back in the day i thought the graphics were crazy but how much do you have to pay to get those graphics? i'd much rather get a ps3 for $300. i get a brilliant powerhouse gaming machine and a blu ray player to go with it! and so what if the graphics aint as good. how damn good can they get? games like RDR, killzone, uncharted look fantastic!

Depends on the type of game which i think is better at any one time. Both platforms have strengths and weaknesses.

What I love about consoles is that I don't have to upgrade, and the games released at the end of the console's lifecycle look better than those at the start. The opposite is true of PC games... The newer the game the more it struggles on older hardware, but I can always upgrade.

They are equal and I hope both thrive in the coming years.

consoles for me. I can't stand how easy it is (nooby) to use the mouse and keyboard. I remember playing Counter Strike and saying wow.. getting headshots is so easy, its not even rewarding.

If you are a cheap, casual, mini gamer then console would be your choice.

If you are a higher class, hardcore gamer and want to play the stuff the console gamers are still waiting for (NVidia 3D Gaming already been mine for 7 months), DX 11 graphics, Mouse and Keyboard (Motion controls are just a way of emulating the pointer system of a mouse). The single largest gaming library known to man. The PC is untouchable and for the dedicated gamer the only choice. Plus HDMI out and optical port for sound and can use controller when we want to dumb down our gaming.

If you've got the money to constantly upgrade your PC - then that's definitely the way to go. A game like Oblivion or Gothic 3 have almost infinite possibilities due to graphics, gameplay and add-on mods.

But for those that don't have to worry about specifications, they should go the way of the console.

From my most recent experience though, I've really enjoyed PC gaming more. I booted up Duke Nukem 3D and downloaded a graphics mod that makes it look comparable to Doom 3 or Quake 4.

Now, I'm a major tech geek, I'm an IT student too so trust me when I say, I know my stuff (not just some random novice user of PC's) and I have a pretty beefy system which could run anything you threw at it, and a real nice 18'4 inch full HD monitor taboot

But the only PC games I have are exclusives (I.e The Sims 3 etc.) because I grew up a console gamer, and I always will be, I prefer the platform.

What really annoys me, is arrogant PC fanboys who act like everyone else are idiots because they CHOOSE to game on Consoles, I could go on all night about the perks of consoles, but there is so much to cover.

Console gaming, obviously. The PS3`s library of games absolutely slaughters anything that`s come out for the PC in recent times. No, I don`t care to "upgrade muh rig." Why should I? I can barely keep up with my PS3, why would I waste my time and money building a whole new platform that plays glorified multi-plats? If all my systems was to die right now and I was given £1000 I would not replace my PS3, 360, Wii, DSi and PSP even though £1000 should cover them all I still would spend the £1000 on build my Rig.
