Microsoft is a software company who knows shit about hardware. If they did, they'd be making their own computers, wait never mind cuz then they would make money off companies like Dell, HP, Acer etc. like the only hardware I know that microsoft makes is the failure known as Zune and that new kid phone that's out. To the dude that talk about iPod having problems, I don't what you're talking about but I don't doubt it had problems but let's be for real now, RRoD is by far the worst hardware malfunction in hardware history. And Microsoft DOES NOT CARE because the stupid 360 owners don't care either. "Oh my 360 broke, time to get a next one, oh this one broke too, again to the store, holy crap this one also broke, on to the next one" that's why microsoft hasn't fixed it yet. I can guarantee if the 360 owners refused to buy another one and boycotted the 360, that shit would have been eliminated in the first months! MONTHS! But no the idiots fall for a 3 year warranty and Halo. No one game or franchise can make me continue to repurchase a faulty console. Microsoft claims 1 billion dollars went into fixing RRoD and its still not fixed?! Something ain't right there. Maybe they were planning on fixing it but the owners just don't care, and microsoft sees that. Its not only Ballmer, nobody at Microsoft acknowledges 360's problems.

I don't know what happened to the world, but people tend to expect apologies for absolutely everything. Exactly what was there to apologize for over Vista? Microsoft released SP1 and it got infinitely better. Plus, they extended the life of XP and left it as an option for new PC purchases through OEM's so people didn't have to buy it.

Maybe it's just me, and I could be wrong, but extending the Xbox 360 warranty to 3 years and dropping $1 billion on the table to repair dead consoles is a pretty big acknowledgment of the problem. Sure people want to complain about reports of multiple console failures, but every RROD was met with a replacement for 3 years from purchase. Has any other console manufacturer stood behind their product that way?

In both cases Microsoft did what I would have expected and what I much preferred. They took action. Apologies are worthless. People apologize when they have no way to make things right. Or no intention of trying to. Typical Microsoft bashing. Nothing new here.

what about the people who have launch 360's and does offering a 3 year warranty while continuing to sell and market their shitty hardware make it right? Consoles arnt meant to last for ever but when you know the hardware is faulty and will fail why keep buying it? M$ loyalist are basically saying, fuck it we know it's overheat but i'll keep sending it back or just purchase another one until that one breaks, then i'll do it again. They threw money at the problem the wrong way. They didn't overhaul the hardware which would have been best option for them to implement.

"Well my neighbor has a 360 so ima get one" or this one "i have large library of games so i cant get a PS3 cuz it has no games" lol.

I had a large library as well but after the system failed a third time i thought hrmmmmmm does it make sense to keep putting money into something that just breaks? for level headed and sensible people the answer would NO, so i sold my 360 shit and got a PS3 in 2007 and never looked back.

Last I heard BeOS was dead for lack of interest and the company ran out of funds and had to sell out what was left to Palm. So that's some great and valuable advice there 'Jean Louis'. BeOS has been since largely replaced by an open source hobby project called 'Haiku' that is a descendent of OpenBeOS. Palm has since been purchased by HP.

Ever since ballmer took over MS has been going down hill and apple have capitalised on it in all tech fields. Iphone is a great example of this, back when it was released using an iphone was heavenly to using a win mobile OS.
