CVG: Treyarch has labelled the exodus at fellow Call Of Duty studio Infinity Ward "unfortunate" - but promised the maelstrom surrounding its Activision stablemate hasn't distracted it from creating COD: Black Ops.

I wouldn't ever beable to just stand by and watch something like that unfold. Lets just says if i worked for Activision when that went down, i wouldn't be working there...

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Same here. I'll care about the food that I can bring in my home first.

It sounds more like a bunch of the old timers that worked with West and Zampella for a long time is leaving.

Activision has a lot of studios under them and we don't see mass exodus or even the sort of stories like "EA Wife" so I think they are treated no worse than the rest of the industry.

jagstatboy5854d ago

LOL at this comment:

"I don't believe a word of it. I bet the Treyarch guys are loving this. Finally they're not the deformed, mentally-disabled, bastard cousins of Infinity Ward any more... they're the top dogs, teacher's pet to Activision and the fat cat that runs that outfit."

Microshock5854d ago

Infinity Ward seems to be one of the few studios ever who WONT do what their parent company bought them out to do.

If a company buys you, you have to do what they say. Not bash Activision at every turn.

Treyarch is doing what they should and I respect them for it. Plus, all of their games have more character than anything IW has ever made. When would IW make a fun mode like Nazi Zombies?

ultramoot5854d ago

"...all of their games have more character than anything IW has ever made..."

Oh really? I guess that's why COD3 and COD5 were bigger hits than MW1 and MW2. Oh wait........

Don't get me wrong. I hate IW for what they did with MW2, but that doesn't automatically mean Treyarch are better developers. Look at their track record. None of their games ever came close to beating IW products. If IW wasn't wrecked by Activision, Treyarch will still be the 'afterthought' developers, those that Activision just kept because they wanted to milk the franchise dry.

BeaArthur5854d ago

I'm sure they are real sorry to see them go.

Microsoft needs to listen or risk irreparable harm to Call of Duty

Windows Central: "The money may keep rolling in, but Microsoft is the custodian of one of the biggest selling video game series in history. If something doesn't change, I fear we'll reach a breaking point and irreparable damage will have been done."

Because ms is so good at managing studios, surely they will get it right

:P

franwex192d ago

In my view, they should probably merge MP with Warzone and essentially make it free to play like Halo Infinite. The campaign/zombies mode can be $30 yearly DLC. I know this would be insanity as most COD players essentially pay the full price of the game simply for the MP. However-with a shrinking player base they may have to consider it. Making it free would bring in a ton of players.

Profchaos192d ago

To late MW3 should have been a lesson but here we are two years later with a steaming pile a shite called blops7

Nothing lasts forever, eventually something will come along to make people forget about COD

Halo killer once arrived and technically call of duty killer also arrived, its name is Fortnite

dveio192d ago

Call of Duty was riding the revenue horse and charts for ~20 years. Whether undeserved or deserved.

But I endorse everyone to remind you that Microsoft could have decided differently when they took it over.

The money was certainly there, and they could have taken their time revamping the franchise:

Current-gen tech, manageable microtransactions, not imitating Fortnite and returning to core values of the franchise's origin.

They didn't.

Let's see next year. Hopefully without the then 13 years old PS4 and One hardware.

blacktiger191d ago

you need to stop saying "let see next year"
