need to invest in first party studios and bring there games to the table just like sony and nintendo did most of 360 games are either multiplatform end of statement

niceguywii605850d ago (Edited 5850d ago )

How in the hell did you turn developers wanting to reach another base of consumers to *Sony has this, Sony has that, and 360 has nothing* ?????

I don't blame them considering they do ok over at Sony with software sales. If they make a FPS there are plenty of fans, if the game's a platformer I'm sure Natal factored in their decision(loads of new casuals will be looking for casual games)

dizzleK5850d ago

they get a multiplat from a ps3 developer and ps3 gets their "exclusives". it's a fair trade.

dangert125850d ago (Edited 5850d ago )

thats exatcly why 3rd party's are seriously consider the xbox

as on the wii nintendo owns software sales to the point studio are pulling out support

ps3 exclusives are starting 2 own on ps3

and apart from(halo, gears, fable pgr and forza and a few rare games)
microsoft have no games crackdown is just published by them i think

why are you disagreeing micrsoft do not own ruffian

IronFistChinMi5850d ago

Microsoft do own Ruffian. They set them up after they were too late in asking Realtime Worlds (original Crackdown Devs) to make Crackdown 2.

SDF Repellent5850d ago (Edited 5850d ago )

"and apart from(halo, gears, fable pgr and forza and a few rare games)

LOL, Crackdown IP is owned by Microsoft just like Halo.

Also, since more than 95% of games on both systems are multi plat, I don't think X360 gamers are starving for games. Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell, Red Dead Redemption, Battlefiled Bad Company 2, Split Second, Final Fantasy 13 are some of the outstanding games that came out this year on X360 thus far in 2010.

bioshock12215850d ago (Edited 5850d ago )

Yeah I agree but the xbox 360 seems to be doing just fine regardless of that. They don't seem to be struggling for exclusives. There are usually more exclusives for the Xbox 360 in one year then there are for the Wii even thought Nintendo has so many more first party studios.

That really isn't a fair comparison to compare Sony and Nintendo's first party to Microsoft's since Microsoft has only been in the gaming Industry for 8 years while Sony has been in the game Industry for over 16 years and Nintendo has been in the Industry for 27 years so not really a fair comparison.

dangert125850d ago (Edited 5850d ago )

its fair if tthey can spend 50 mill on dlc timed exclusivity
knowing for well its not gong to sell 2 its potential when there sell arcade xbox's with no hdd they could of easily made or brought a studio with that

@pirathom
i know they did't but sony are only 1 gen ahead of the xbox lol
3 is more then micrsoft has this gen i'm sure ms lost 3 this gen bungie, esemble, bizzre creations

PirateThom5850d ago

Do you think Sony just acquired all their studios this gen? Sony have been building their first party since the PlayStation, this gen they only really acquied 3 studios.

Sony have been in the gaming world since 1992 as Sony Imagesoft, who were mostly a publisher, they never lost that publishing angle, which is why there's so many developers now under them.

iPirates5850d ago

What first party studios does nintendo have exactly?

- Ghost of Sparta -5850d ago

I honestly look at this guy's face in pictures, laugh out loud, and ignore everything he has to say.

Can't wait to see Bungie's PS3 game.

raWfodog5850d ago

I surprised Aaron didnt say anything off the wall crazy today. He's actually sounded like a true executive and not a fanboy.

I know it won't last :)

if it's gonna be platformers, then it will flop in sales on x360.
i mean kameo and banjo kazooie alltogether sold barely a million. i'm sure insomniac is not that stupid so it will be some shooter.

bioshock12215850d ago

Not trolling but isn't that how much Ratchet and Clank and Resistance games have sold? just a little over 1 million. Plus Kameo was a launch title.

thief5850d ago

R1 sold 3 million (helped by bundles)
R2 and Ratchet ToD sold 2 million or a bit above

sweettooth5850d ago

Aaron Greenberg Not excited for the game
excited for the DLC for the game
This limit their thinking

Insomniac Games Has To Figure Out How to Break the 'Normal' Gameplay Loop in Marvel's Wolverine

For a mutant who can't die, how will Insomniac Games adjust the healing mechanic in Marvel's Wolverine?

Knocked out is still an option. So are being captured or restrained. Then there's potential for fatigue being a factor or just putting limits on how many times you can come back from healing quickly, making it also something you upgrade throughout the game.

Really not a hard thing to gamify, honestly. Just look at the last wolverine game.

StarcrossedBits240d ago

Yeah, this is very silly. Wolverine's not invincible and he can actually die anyway. This isn't the Superman problem. The 360/PS3 game handled it great.

Deadpool is another example. That guy literally can't die because Death won't take him. But they still figured out a way to make a game around him.

jambola240d ago

Probably just have a health bar, only a tiny minority will probably be bothered by "oh but adanced healing" nonsense
Injustice was successful, people didn't cry about superman being beaten by humans

Juancho51240d ago

Ive seen enough to know that whatever they do will focus heavily on insane combos and dismemberments and all kinds of cool shit we wish we'd seen years ago as wolverine fans.

This is in great hands, all open world games get stale, I'm sure this game is going to be GOTY contender because of the talent behind it, but I hope its doesn't fall into any traps that make the world feel empty or underutilized.

LFG tho!! EXCITED.

BlackCountryBob240d ago

Of all the things to worry about, this feels like the lowest ebb. I’d perhaps be more concerned about how they can find enough variety in the combat mechanics to stop a 10-12 hour game from becoming a bit samey, even if they get that main combat gameplay loop to be incredibly satisfying.

Obviously Wolverines claws will remain the main combat method, but thinking about how God of War benefited from (and differentiated itself from predecessor’s) by increased verticality in combat and also ranged attack mechanics, I’d be interested to see what Insomniac can come up with.

__SteakDeck__239d ago

Jean Gray will be playable for a portion of the game. That’s how they’re going to spice it up.
