Red Dead Redemption, after numerous delays for extra polish, has finally made it to store shelves. IGN posted its review last week, but that's only one man's opinion. Today they present to you other thoughts, critiques, and general feelings from the IGN editorial staff about Rockstar's sandiest sandbox game yet.

Red Dead Redemption hits 3.3 million Netflix downloads on mobile, underscoring how subscription access drives reach over paid sales.
More like people don't play these type of games on their phone normally and don't try them out. Not like the places where people do play these games haven't crushed those numbers easily.
How many people actually played more than an hour of the game or came close to finishing it on mobile is the real question. If people aren't playing the games to a point that is purposeful, then why try when a subscription that is behind a streaming service isn't a sign of success but just curiosity.

Rockstar says the free upgrade issue affecting Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 owners requires more time to resolve, with another update expected within five days.
I’m not sure what the exact issue is. I had no trouble getting the free update—you basically get the new game for free if you have the 360 version in your digital library. Maybe the problem is related to owning or not owning the Undead DLC expansion.

A detailed comparison of Red Dead Redemption on Switch 2, PS4, and PS5 shows stronger settings, better performance, and a major uplift for Nintendo’s new hardware.
I wish the hunting worked on a tier type system.
Say cougar liked deer meat. If you shot a deer and left it, it could attrach a cougar. Or if wolves ate rabbits and so on.
I would also like wind to come into it. The wind direction should always be obvious if you look at the brush. Animals should smell you if they are downwind from you. It could bring alot more strategy into hunting.
Also traps would be good and unrelated, it seems like a waste of opportunity that you cant make fire. It would be great if you could use fire like in Farcry 2 as a distraction or a weapon. I love making a fire at the front of a camp, then flanking round the back while everyone was freaking out.
I agree the game is awesome. There seems to be a bit of a haters bandwagon on it .
Yeah there's a few graphics glitches but I havent ssem one that ruins my enjoyment of the game one bit .
I agree with it being better than GTA4 . contorls are better and to me its more fun that its out of the city and in the outback
Absolutely no sense of challenge or point to any of its rpg type elements. Like most Rockstar games, the in-game economy exists for no reason or applicable purpose.
Stalker handled this style of game wonderfully - with an exactness in its elements and how they apply to an overall difficulty. Of course, games are just going further and further in the direction of replicating the aesthetics of film, and this is yet another example of just how empty that is without a solid game design.
And where the hell is that lasso in multiplayer?
The game is phenomenal. Hands down. It is my top game of 2010 so far. I can't stop playing it. The multiplayer game is a great experience, and the single player completely pulls you in.
