Behind closed doors at Computex, nVidia is likely to be showing its most important partners a very serious piece of new kit. The GTX490. Remember when the 7950 GX2 was considered power-hungry for pulling 110w in 3D testing? Looking back at that era, it seems that ATI and nVidia just weren’t trying hard enough.
As we continue to look under the rocks in Taiwan, more interesting information about nVidia’s new high-end card has come to light. To be honest, water-damage and exposure to UV rays means the ink has run in places and we’re looking at this document over a weak video link, but we’re pretty sure that the key info is intact. Question remains: Is it accurate?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Jesus Christ.
"GTX490’s power draw looks to be around 375w."
Good lord...
I find it pretty astonishing, that in the computer world, they try to make things smaller, but For the graphic cards they only seem to be getting bigger. I really hate these giant cards taking up an extra Pci-E slot, But I guess you either want a gaming PC, or a multi tasking PC with the extra expansion cards.
the good news is you don't need a heater in the winter. Just play Crysis on high settings and your room should stay nice and toasty.
Meh, ill wait for Tom's hardware to review it... the 470 / 480 cards had lots of pre hype and looked great on paper, but benchmarks and reviews weren't as pleasant...

The GTX 480 BARELY out performs the HD 5870 at 1680x1050, getting only 2-4 more fps, yet the 480 costs a good 100 dollars more than the HD 5870. In 1920x1080p, the HD 5870 performs better, barely.
A GTX 470 performs worse than the HD 5850, yet costs 50 dollars more than the it.
If anything, i bet the GTX 490 will be like the other Fermi cards. It'll cost more than a HD 5970, yet perform worse than it, or at best, get a very MARGINAL FPS superiority. Nothing that would warrant the higher price.
Hopefully the next gen of cards, Nvidia will step up with a better showing than these Fermi cards. I decided to wait for Nvidia to release their cards back when ATI was coming out with theirs, expecting the Nvidia cards to be better. Now i regret that decision, i could have gotten a HD 5870 at a much cheaper price in 2009 than i can today.
