The only thing I can think of that's not very good in RDR are the tutorials. They should have paused the game whenever there is text on screen and use "press A to continue" or something.

Instead my first duel went like this: "Ok, it's time. Hey look! There's text in the left corner explaining how to duel! Let's see, press RT to...*shot dead*. Wtf!?"

My first dueler was slow as molasses. After I read the tutorial I still had time to put every bullet from my six-shooter in his dome. Yee-HAW!

do u know if u dont get a chance to read the tutorials fast just press start and go to journal it shows u everything it says...evey GTA game has had this before i dont know y people dont ever explore the pause menu then just the game

I still don't know how to mark people in dead eye mode (embarassing I know) but I feel they should have done a better tutorial for many of the things but thats as far as my complaints go for this game and I know MP has some bugs but I have yet to buy a wifi adapted for my 360 (I will soon though), almost eager to buy two copies one for the PS3 to play MP and play SP on my 360...what do you guys think? I have 3 months of Live from buying a hard drive but I sorta wanna wait till Reach comes out...

How long does it take to complete the game?
I mean not including all optional missions, just the main bulk of the game?

poindat5766d ago (Edited 5766d ago )

Well I've been playing for about 10-12 hours (give or take), and I've just reached Mexico, which apparently is approximately the halfway point of the game. I've also gone out of my way to do side missions and challenges, but a large bulk of my play time has been the main story, although I am taking my sweet time and letting the details and setting soak in.

So just doing the story should last you long enough (and give you enough enjoyment) to get your full money's worth out of the game. Add in all the side missions, optional tasks, and online play, and you've got one hell of a bargain for $60.

knight6265766d ago

going to mexico is not even touching the half point of the game u r long way from the ending this game is pretty long so enjoy it

yoghurt5766d ago

thanks for your replies, I was actually asking because I don't like games that are too long, 1) because I get bored (GTA4) and 2) I don't get loads of game time so it'd take months to complete! so you could be looking at 25-30 hours for RDR, which for me is perhaps too long I think to keep me interested, may give it a spin though

This is a good one. I was wondering about the horses and this tells me where they are and what they look like so great.

Online i completed all survivalist challenges.. however theres a bug that doesnt let u see other herbs u need i emailed this photo to report the bug to rockstargames support. The bug : it doesnt let you scroll down to see the other herbs u need. I manage to guess and found the herbs at random and got lucky.

That's not a bug, that's all the herbs in the game, you cant scroll down because there are no more.

More like people don't play these type of games on their phone normally and don't try them out. Not like the places where people do play these games haven't crushed those numbers easily.

How many people actually played more than an hour of the game or came close to finishing it on mobile is the real question. If people aren't playing the games to a point that is purposeful, then why try when a subscription that is behind a streaming service isn't a sign of success but just curiosity.

What if Netflix becomes ‘the Netflix of gaming?!’

Alek8351d ago

I downloaded it because I already have a Netflix sub.
I am not going to buy it for $40 or whatever it costs on Google Play.

I tried it out and will be sticking to the PC version, but it's not bad.

Having said that, this is the issues I see vs the PC version:
1. Greatly reduced texture resolution.
2. Massive downgrade ALL lighting quality (this includes water, shadows, etc).
3. Stutter and heat. Prolonged play leads to both.
On the plus side, we have:
4. This thing is like 6GB vs the 12 on Steam.

Great way to try the game, but not the best way to play it.

Perhaps Netflix will make a RDR series now that ST is done with.

Lionsguard52d ago

A Netflix version of RDR?... Oh boy... I can't wait... /s

They should build a production that includes members behind the True Grit remake and Hell on Wheels from AMC. Both were perfect for wild west vibes.

but i doubt people ACTUALLY played it on smartphone vs tried it out.

Another free update...good to know but I don't own a series X

Petebloodyonion85d ago

I’m not sure what the exact issue is. I had no trouble getting the free update—you basically get the new game for free if you have the 360 version in your digital library. Maybe the problem is related to owning or not owning the Undead DLC expansion.

Hypertension14084d ago (Edited 84d ago )

Yea I think thats what it is. I also own the game but not the expansion, and im unable to download the update.
