I think destructible environments are almost a necessity these days, that's one thing I hate about COD, and why I just can't go back to it after playing BFBC

destructible environments make a game more diverse, and also create more immersion and you don't get the feeling your just playing in a fake environment

If the destruction system is anywhere near as good as BC2's then I'll probably have to buy this.

This is a rumour, and an Old One at that. We've heard this for quite a while now. None the less, should be good.

What more can this game do right? If they improve the a.i a bit and make the levels a bit more open, which naturally should happen, this game can't get any better. I've officially boarded the hype-train and its steaming! All as we need now is a release date. Thank God for Sony!

seriously, i love bc1 and 2 and after switching back and forth between those, destructible environments is something that I have been wanting to see in kz3.

im already so stoked for this game!

Man oh man, I can not wait to hear and see more. If I remember correctly, KZ2 had semi-destructible environments (pieces of a concrete pillar chipping off) and that looked great. I hope this is true, I'm a big fan of destructible environments.

If this is coming to MP, which I assume it will - then I am having a tough time trying to see how it would work with the current design of KZ2's MP.

For example, I play a lot of LONG Warzone games that last over an hour sometimes. In those games, if things are destructible then how would that work in these long games? That building over there? It'll be destroyed by rockets within the first few minutes ..

UNLESS .. the Engineer's "Repair" ability will actually be able to repair structures that were destroyed .. WOW. I think I just blew my own mind ..

This is huge. Destructible environments alone make BFBC2 so GREAT. Are people camping all over the place like in Modern Warfare 2? BLOW UP THEIR COVER!

Im the kind of person that when I get a game like this I will personally sit there and waste my explosive arsenal on things to see if it lives up... I hope it does. I hope they do something like this for Gears 3 as well. I see this whole destructable thing becoming the big fad now, since the cover system is already a niche part of games now too!

i think it can add an extra element to an already great game. though its not new, the graphical power of the ps3 w killzone is going to make it look alot better!!

Killzone 3 - GOTY people.

Fully destructible environments would seriously be setting the bar extremely high for other shooters as KILLZONE 2 already offers the best eye candy and intense warfare of any shooter on the market(Just an opinion). Now the update that Naughty Dog is working along side Guerrilla Games to make the KILLZONE 3 experience that much better, the game is bound to be amazing, however, I believe a solid co-op campaign is seriously needed. KILLZONE 2 was an amazing title (easily my favorite shooter this gen) but again a co-op mode would have taken it through the ceiling. The ability to battle the Helghast in large over-the-top locales with your friends online cooperatively along with everything else said to be added to KILLZONE 3 and you're looking at a 2011 GOTY contender.

It'll be interesting to see how the AI reacts to this. The AI in KZ2 was so damn good, this is definately gonna mix things up.

This is great, I can't wait for this one KZ2 was one of the best shooters this gen. It's unfortunate that it will probably be the similar environments to KZ2, but it's understandable since it's easier to make the graphics excellent when things are symmetrical as opposed to making the flora look amazing. Kind of a cop out.

edit: sony always let things slip before e3, kind of ruins the excitement.

I'm not really into FPS's anymore but this has me interested. Plus if Naughty Dog is helping out with the code, you know it's going to be polished.

Is something they had to leave partially out in KZ2 I know they was working on that but decided to skin it for not being polished enough nice to see its finally added. I think much more features than graphical upgrade will be added to KZ. Now here is hoping to my co-op campaign mode *crosses fingers*.

Their Bad Company series is marketed around the "destrubtible environment" feature. They're going to need to offer more than that for a sequel to stand out. Although they still got the upper hand with vehicles.

Come on Sony, please don't tell us anymore until E3. Please!!!

Let me try a different approach to this site. Yay PS3! Yay Killzone 2 and 3! Killzone 3 is going to kill the other games! Best FPS ever, it's going to revolutionize Shooter games and give us something we've yet to truly experience!

Hm... Well, it didn't really add much in Battlefield:BC. It was actually useful in Crysis, Just Cause 2, and Red Faction: Guerrilla.

The last one had very staged destructible environments and many devs have promised this but few actually deliver TRUE fully destructible. Consider my face officially melted if GG give us this in the incredible visual style this game has! I have no reason to doubt them at this point.

I very much doubt it but it would be awesome if they could pull it off. Killzone 2 is one of the only FPS games I actually really liked, and I played the multiplayer for months which is something I almost never do, and definitely not with FPS.

GG must be using tons of SPUs for this kind of destructibility along with such an amazing graphical caliber. That just makes the scans looked so much more impressive.

Destructible environments won't make it a better game. The targeting still sucked. They better tweak it because it was horrendous. They should also fix the perk system along with the classes. Battlefield's destruction didnt have to be perfect. They left certain structures framed in steel beams for a reason. You can't level everything or you'll have no more terrain and it would be too easy to destroy crates. Killzone's visuals were stunning, but the gameplays stunk, so I hope they fix that along with better weapons. We are dealing with futuristic weapons, so why aren't they more creative with them?

Well, has it been confirmed by guerilla or sony ?? Because I can't imagine environments will be fully destructible.. I was quite surprised when I read the news. I hope it is true because as a big fan of BBC2, it is hard for me to play games where nothing is destructible.. Can't wait for this game, I hope it will be awesome, and above all more EPIC than KZ2.

To me, U2 felt more responsive than KZ2. I liked them both, but got more enjoyment out of U2.

Gratz Guerilla, amazing Studio and engine, love Decima!

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

Bring back killzone (maybe in 3rd person perspective)

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.

I'm hyped for whenever Horizon 3 releases but Killzone 1 needs a remake BAD and 2 & 3 need remasters. Criminal those games are stuck on PS3.

Beautiful. Might try it out then. Is the emulator capable of 3D? Playing this in 3D with the Move gun controller was amazing when it came out. I was surprised they got it to run so well in 3D, too, after Resistance 3's 3D had such a low frame rate. I can still play it on my PS3, but if this runs better, I'm down.

Controversial opinion here, but this is my favorite campaign in the series.
