R1 >> R2

i couldn't quantify why at the time but this article highlights things i hadn't thought of. Lets hope they do better with the 3rd in fact im sure they will

I really enjoyed R1, but thought R2 was a let down.

R2 multiplayer was cool though.

Hope R3 is better.

Liked R2 much more than R1. Can't wait to see what they come up with for R3.

R3 should be more like r1 and better polish and maybe kz2 engine

3. If they have to choose between the res:FOM 2 player campaign and that 8 player mess i want the 2 player
4. Bring back chimera ability
5. Offine 4 player split screen with bots.

Better yet ill stop right there just res:FOM with continue story and different maps and better textures ill be happy.

Let's all hate on R2 because it did something different while also complaining that too many FPS's follow the same formula like MW2...

R2>FOM by far. Check me out on both games, because I own both and I can safely say the followth

FOM story was FAR better
R2 gameplay was and controls was far better (needed more weapons)
R2 co-op was by far in the way the best in so long... needed hoarde mode.
FOM multiplayer 1 hit kill owns... while R2 normal was better than FOMs.
I think that sums up the two. ALl in all I enjoyed FOM more at the time ( it being my only game I kinda had to ) but R2 is the better game, just doesn't have the same amount of soul.

R:FOM was way better than R2. R2 was boring, nicer graphics update but they weren't gritty enough. Maybe it was just because the first was in Britain =D

A couple of months back, I played Resistance 2 through for the second time and appreciated it's gameplay. Sure, it was missing some great elements of R1, but it's actually still quite a solid shooter. It just wasn't sure what it wanted to be.

I'll say this right now, R2 is my biggest sequel letdown this next gen, they removed everything, EVERYTHING from R1 that made it great
the following is what made RFOM great and R2 a huge letdown because they removed so much stuff

Story was better in RFOM
Multiplayer was better in RFOM
Split Screen
RFOM Party System (they removed the text function, wtf why???????????
Invite system (it takes longer, it was so simple in RFOM)
Maps
Weapon Wheel
.....
They only improved the graphics, n even then they were too bright and colourful, Resistance is a dark gritty game, RFOM felt like the 1940's, R2 felt like the future, i really hope they bring back the things that made RFOM great, for the fans which made the first game a great success, still the best game i've played online on my ps3.

Gears Of War 2 screwed Resistance 2 up. Insomniac felt they had to 'up the ante' by increasing the scale of everything. This caused R2 to steer too far away from its roots and ultimately lose its FUN!

if resistance 3 comes out this year...its going to be an awesome year for gamers.

resistance 2 is way better than resistance 1 and anyone who thinks otherwise either likes the story better in res 1 or they are an idiot. resistance 2 improved upon all the flaws of res 1 so i dont know how an improved game could be worse.

R2 was awesome xD , the only dissapointed was the story !!!

Damn right! R2 did. There is nothin you can truely complain about in this game. And I hope for goodness sake R3 does not go back to that gray-ass, 1920s-ish, looking bull yall talkin bout.

I know the game is supposed to be set in that type of time period but they made it feel modern even in contrast to the visuals. I don't want heavy sluggish guns like Killzone and I don't weightless lightning fast guns like COD.

Resistance has found its own feel, why cant yall just be happy for the game instead of complainin that it don't look like a black & white movie, nor play like one.

I also felt R2 was inferior to R1. I don't undertsand why they went away from the multiple weapon wheel to only carrying four weapons. It felt gimped after playing the 1st one.

I felt the first one's mission progression was more interesting, making me want to keep playing to see what happens next. Whereas the second one fell into the formula of "lets top the first one by flooding the screen with more enemies to shoot".

This game got me into FPS and not HALO. The story and graphics and weapons were awsome. I like the graphics and weapons for Resistance 1. The second one had perfect story and great gameplay but the graphics weren't as good as the first one in my opinion. Just the overall visual feel. I really hoep this do come to the 360 but its not going to happen.

everytime a R3 article pops up everyone goes on rehashing the same stuff (better story, grittier graphics, teh weapon wheels, teh online). Yea we get it. Can we please move on to speculating story ideas now lol.

I wanna see either Grayson or Capelli take lead role. And if there's 4 player co op it should be its seperate story with Blake, Capelli, Grayson, and the brit guy from rfom (think his name was Stevenson.) Unless Hale is alive. And co op should be an off the records mission that neither SRPA or US military knows about.

It would also be cool to see cameos from the novel. (Sarah and that Chi-town chick with the pet howler =)

And it should be in Paris. *spoilers* I almost wish it could be a prequel. I'd love shoot the president for coming up with that bogus plan.

what, so apparently noone actually liked resistence 2? huh, from what i remember everyone raved about it back in the day, very few reviews gave it savage scores, mostly 8s and 9s if i remember correctly. to me it seems this sudden "yea we never liked it" has come outta almost nowhere. this may just be personal preference talkin here, but i MUCH preferred the second one, no annoying chick narrating what should have been cutscenes, guns that put people/aliens down easily, awesome bosses/controls and pretty decent graphics. hell, even the grims, the levels with them were atmospheric as hell! and the multiplayer! man, i couldn't even finish the first one out of the dullness i felt after about five hours in when it was the only ps3 game i had back in 2007, and i've spanked the 2nd one at least three times, i'd even say it's my favourite fps on the ps3 ffs. i know not everyone shares my opinion and thats the great thing about freedom of speech and other such rights, all i'm sayin is, i was extremely unaware of all the dislike til now.

I think people got it wrong. R2 was indeed the better game your gaming experience and fun was just better on Resistance. R2 co-op one of the best I ever played hope they bring it back in Resistance 3.

The Resistance games have been solid. One of the highest rated console FPS's on Meta'.

I preferred somethings about R1 (story, multiplayer, weapon wheel, vehicles) and other things 'bout R2 (controls, scale, unlockables, co-op). Twin Falls and Chicago in R2 were awesome. Genuinely creepy in broad daylight. If they can combine it all in R3, it would be epic, and could take back the title of Playstation's flagship FPS from KZ2.

is by far the best Resistance yet.

Singleplayer was just amazing, i remembered when i was drooling over videos on the net and the PS3 wasnt even out at the time in EU.

oh and Multiplayer is pure fun, no frustration like COD. You can tell who is a noob, intermediate or just pure pwnage...

I was craving Co-op so bad I bought resistance 2 collectors edition, played through the Single player to build up my anticipation for the co-op. I played it for 20 minutes of pure frustration and absolute randomness. Start in chicago, fail and end up some other place. How absurd. I was so mad at the implementation of co-op i literally went out after and bought gears of war and a 360. It is the only game i have for it and it is no longer played, my poor 360 is just collecting dust again until Gears 3 is released.

RFOM is better than R2. For R3 they need the story to be more like R1 with the narator and also the multiplayer should be like R1. Only thing from R2 that should be back is the co-op mode. So basically Resistance 3= R1 with R2 co-op and of course improvements like more creative weapons,graphics,etc

A must buy...I`d love to see down a new sniper fareye and bust out a few eye`s-
good times...Maybe in my hometown of Sommerset...CTF in Sommerset was truly some of the best fun i`ve had on line. Insomniac`s bad days are still better then some FPS`s best days-

Or how about battling 20 Chimera on a Aircraft Carrier...those where the dayz...
40 person online...with out a hitch- And the party system...Clan system...Find game system...they did it right...all the way around- I want to q up now...

PLEASE not another one, it has the worse character design and level design, no vehicles, linear, and generic story and graphics is not that good. Just make a new IP or make a new Disruptor game

The online co-op was sweet! Taking on waves of creatures with mini-bosses was so much fun I had forgot that gaming was that much fun. I hope it comes back in R3 but bigger, badder, and most of all... What happens to Nathan Hale!
