@ Dave Cox your game is Too Gimmicky

Move is more advance then natal or wii

nix5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

it is as gimmicky as Wii... but yeah. i would have loved to see it integrated though.

AND i don't like this 3 bubbles system. it says "DISCUSS" but how the hell can any one discuss with three comments per page?!!!

Christopher5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

Only 3 bubbles? :p

/ontopic

His comment was likely taken out of context and he feels motion gaming for this game, no matter which one, would feel gimmicky.

Applegate5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

I agree with the dev. Since they have already experienced the Move unlike everybody else on N4G. I think we can safely say he's right.

360RRODFIX5867d ago

wii, move, natal are all gimmick and embarrassment to hardcore gaming. Do not care about any of them. If i wanted to wave with my hands i would have got Wii, but hey guess what i DIDN'T!

Sitdown5867d ago

to hardcore gaming? Is a driving wheel an embarrassment to hardcore gaming? Just because you are stuck in only gaming in one way, doesn't mean that other components are an embarrassment. Perhaps your gaming history does not include duck hunt and the power pad.

HighDefinition5867d ago

The Move IS what we all THOUGHT the Wii would be like.

And I really want it for LBP/LBP2. :)

DelbertGrady5867d ago

I think Dave Cox implies that it would be gimmicky to use it(or any other motion device) in Castlevania, not that Move is gimmicky overall.

The Wood5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

title needs an update 'Move 'Too Gimmicky' for this game at the moment

....whats with you anyway;)

deafwing5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

ya I'm sure a lot of us were thinking that as well ... sometimes these articles are titled in ways that promote over the top reactions.

On a personal note though, I am not a big fan of the wii-mote, natal, or move. They all have their place I'm sure but I'm too stuck to the controller/joystick to care.

I wouldn't mind if developers actually included these devices in the game for use, but more so as "an option." Like how you can use a joystick on SF as an option; it's not required. If these tools become a requirement for gaming with titles I love, I might have to avoid them all together.

NexGen5867d ago

Soda, you were getting flat so I added some bubbles...

And I'm glad they decided to leave any motion controls out...I want this to be a GoW-like experience. I do not want to have to get off my couch to slap Dracula a few times...

Well, that actually sounds interesting , but they can do that later.

Dipso5867d ago

Try reading the article before you get all defensive.

Sitdown5867d ago

an ingenious or novel device, scheme, or stratagem, esp. one designed to attract attention or increase appeal.

Anyhow, I wish people would stop getting so defensive over every little thing.....especially when you take comments out of context. There are some that would argue that video games in general are gimmicky.

dabri55867d ago

Advanced doesn't make it less gimmicky, which in my opinion all the motion controllers are gimmicky. 3D tech is extremely advanced and expensive but it is still gimmicky.

zen05867d ago

Using motion in action/adventure game can be tiresome for many people. In Mario, all you have to do is flick the controller once and the enemy dies. Castlevania, DMC, GOW kind of games requires a lot of action and combos (it's not just one or two goombas to take care of). So, for the Wii Mario, it's a lot of fun to flick once in awhile but to swing the controller or move the entire body continuously against hordes of enemies and to perform crazy combos is too tiresome. So I agree with the devs in sticking with regular controllers for this kind of game.

@The CELL : Dave Cox is an amazing game developer and has made amazing games. Just because some devs are finding it hard to cope with the move doesn't mean you bash them. Do you know how to make a game with move?

It cracks me up too see ps3 fanboys bashing professional developers..

"No, no I know more than you, it is really easy to make a game with the move, its very advanced technology"

While I agree that the move is advanced it maybe not suited for all the devs or genres of games out there. But still, if some devs r finding the move to be a "gimmicky" feature, then with that mindset, project natal wont have many games.

Denethor_II5867d ago

"Just because some devs are finding it hard to cope with the move doesn't mean you bash them."

Just because some devs bash Move doesn't mean you should bash them.

MajestieBeast5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

Yeah Jericho was amazing...

Applegate5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

Well, as soon as you dont kiss $ony's ass they gang up on you.

When you touch $ony you touch $ony's children at the same time.

Come on you would have the same reaction if somebody touched your pimp!

Baka-akaB5867d ago

awesome games ?

wich ? Jericho ? (Lolz)
Producing a track and field game in the past ?

There is a gimmick i do see ... david cox as usual running his mouth to create noise and hype around his game , instead of reassuring Castlevania fans that it wont be a god of war clone .

Again , the game looks good , and might even be great , but all i hear and see from this guy are comments about concurrent games , graphics kings , and now moves , that might as well just come from our resident n4g posters

sikbeta5867d ago

Hey! jericho was... eh... mmm... ah, I can't lie to myself, that game still stinks...

The guys not bashing Move, he's just bashing the idea of implementing motion controls into a game that is fairly advanced in its development, which for me is good news, I would hate to see development time being wasted by tacking this functionality on.

Kurylo3d5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

no hes bashing move all together. If he called it a gimmick.. then he thinks its a gimmick... he didnt say he doesnt want to implement it cause its too far in development.. he said he doesnt want to implement it cause its a gimmick. lol.

Move is stupid and has been done. We all know this.. you guys defend it cause it has a sony brand name. At least natal is something fairly advanced in tracking of a human body. Its a new form of mainstream motion controls. It can track multiple people. Its intelligent. Im sure some crazy things will be made with it.

i cant stand sony fanboys who say wii is garbage and motion controls suck, and then defend the move... its like? your defending a slightly more accurate wii. Biased much? Hypocritical i think is the correct word.

Look im no microsoft fanboy either, i hate xbox live, i hate games for microsoft live on pc... thas so stupid it bothers me when im forced to have it for games like arkum asylum on pc. But still i wont defend sony just cause i dislike microsofts practices in the game industry.

BeaArthur5867d ago

All motion controls are gimmicky.

sid4gamerfreak5867d ago (Edited 5867d ago )

@BeaArthur: True

@Applegate: Yea, i should have got used to n4g now considering ive been here quite a while but still...I love my pimp btw but never would react like how these fanboys in n4g do...

I guess there's no use in trying to reason with them...*sigh*

What happens when you make good games, keep it up konami, you've been doing great. Please do a AAA Castlevania too, or heck just start off remaking/remastering old games to play it safe.

Alek83131d ago

Bought both Castlevania Advance Collection and the Dominus Collection. I would absolutely love to have all the GBA games as well, and of course Symphony of the Night.

What I would really love though, is a true next gen sequel to SotN.

Cacabunga106d ago

Not any games: SINGLE PLAYER GAMES!!!
I bought Silent Hill and MGS3!
Keep them coming, i will keep supporting!

nommers132d ago

Hoping for a new rumble roses someday

Scissorman132d ago

that's what happens when you make silent hill great again.

Inverno132d ago

Ironic. Also I guess the whole "fk Konami" phase is over now that they're selling remakes of already great games. People are easy to please, just rattle pretty graphics them.

gold_drake131d ago

i mean, silent hill f is a brand new game and it sold better then silent hill 2 remake.

franwex132d ago

Woah, making good games that people want to play pays off?
Someone tell Ubisoft and Square-enix!

badz149132d ago

SE make good games. WTF are you talking about?

franwex131d ago

I don’t mean final fantasy. I meant their OTHER games. Like their Babylon’s Fall, Avengers, etc. Don’t be coy.

RedDevils132d ago

You must be living under a rock if you put SE in the same category as Ubisoft.

Reaper22_131d ago

Well,, I think all publishers have made some good and bad games. Its a risky business.

Nice. Im glad they are doing that.

Vits200d ago

Very unlikely to happen, but I really wish they at least remastered Shattered Memories. From a story telling point, that is still my favourite title and I think it would fit really well as a VR game.

gold_drake200d ago

why is it very unlikely to happen?

2 and f sold really well. especially f

if they nail 1, then im all on board

on_line_forever200d ago

When I want to play silent hill game I always expect to get the same atmosphere I was see in SH 1 & 2 with deep and great story connect with silent hill city (not another city ) so if Konami want to continue release new games it should based on the success of these games.

In my opinion I think the game need :

- improve combat ( no more action just improve the combat and physics)
- another good and deep story
- improve creatures and enemies design
- add mysterious puzzles and it will be good if these puzzles connected with game story
- and of course Akira should involved in the project.
- create mysterious characters

gold_drake200d ago

good, cause .. i mean, after 2, it kinda goes downhill.
off the rails after 3 ha

Miraak82 200d ago

I kinda liked SH4:The Room .. it was kinda weird ... in a good way

BlaqMagiq1200d ago

We need a Silent Hill 3 Remake after 1

Looks like Mobile is still their bread and butter. But I'm glad they are at least diversifying finally...

CrimsonWing69222d ago

Isn’t that the case for most in the mobile gaming market?

cloganart222d ago

It's just saddening to see.

TheEroica222d ago

My god what I'd give for a new Castlevania game.... Still one of the coolest IPs in gaming.... I'd love to play a AAA Castlevania game that gets the god of war treatment.... Treat the whip like a character. Simon Belmont.... Dracula. Go.
