Turok Hands On Video Demonstration

G4's Morgan Webb talks with Joel Manners, the Game Director of Propaganda Games, about the long-dormant franchise Turok. She gets the details on the new game in the series, which will hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 in February 2008.

The video shows off the game's lush environments and the brutal man-on-dinosaur combat.

Will there last game sucked, and this one looks like it's heading the same way(from the videos i saw so far).

mighty_douche6887d ago

from what ive seen so far this is turning out to be a promising FPS, my on concern is that by the time its released whos gonna buy it? if you got a PS3 you'll have Killzone and if you have a X360 then you'll no doubt be playing Halo!

still im loving the animations on the stealth kills, simply brilliant!!

Which is good given the very crowded fall lineup.

Edit - sometimes it helps to watch the video first! Release date - 2/5/08

Nightdive Studios Quietly Uploaded A Native PS5 Version Of The Original Turok, Now Runs At 120FPS

After releasing remasters of all three original Turok games, starting with the first two games in 2021 and then Turok 3 in 2023, Nightdive Studios has quietly updated the first Turok game with a native PS5 update.

Beyond the bug fixes and general cleaning-up that comes with most patches these days, the big thing about the PS5 version for the original Turok is that if you have a TV that can support it, you’ll be able to play Turok at 120FPS now.

Turok: A Game Series in Need of a Reboot

The Turok series has been languishing without a new title for more than a decade. It's about time we got a reboot.

I'm all for it, I loved the originals... I just don't think, just like w the original Prey, that the main character can survive in this current political climate. Native characters seem untouchable at the moment. I think it can be shown the right respect, but there's always someone getting upset about something these days, they would find a way to cancel it.

BriBri1102d ago

I can't think of a game that's been cancelled because of the race of the main character.

Vits1102d ago

Honestly, I would prefer if they just ported/remastered Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion to modern platforms. So we could have access to the "original 3 games". Because I don't see how to really reboot Turok. It's a product of its time being a mixture of platforming/fps and puzzle.

And I really don't see all those elements being preserved on a Reboot.

lukasmain1102d ago

I would prefer Dino Crisis remake from Capcom. Still, a remade Turok would get my attention.

Forgets about the 2008 reboot*
I'd rather have a sequel to Turok 3, tbh.

GoodGuy091102d ago (Edited 1102d ago )

We unfortunately do not have enough quality dino games. Theres Horizon but they're robots, and Monster Hunter that I can only think of. I'd like to see Turok make a comeback some day.
