Note: Native resolutions aside, the 360 version shouldn't be knocked, it produces less torn frames, and can output the game in 1080p... unlike the PS3.

MGS4 with MGO installed as well nears 10gb. Its around 8-9 gb

7 gigs? That's just asking for to much space. This is 2010. Can't they get this figured out already?

Why is there a need for these articles? (commenting in general here) We know that some games require installs and some don't. We don't need articles divulging about known old facts.

This should already be a norm for the gaming scene, just like PC installs. (unless you want to know each PCs games install space on you HDD)

This has to be a typo... BC2's box said that it only required 1MB of space but it ended up installing about 500MB worth of data onto the HDD. I have never seen a game go passed 5GB. Even games like RE5 or Bioshock didn't go passed 5GB.

The ps3 demo was @ss. I wouldn't wanna put this turd in my ps3. I would rather play Motorstorm pacific Rift, Modnation, Wipeout HD, or even Pure than this garbage.

in the end, later time in future, developers need to start using hard disk space to make games look better.

They can keep their garbage game. This is 2010. Get with the damn program already. Either lead on the PS3 or keep your games to yourself. That's why we have garbage articles that compare graphics and crap when people should be playing GAMES.

Get use to installs people because the next round of consoles will most likely not use optical media and you will install to a HDD or SDD...which is better than DVDD or Blu Ray anyways

Glad I got rid of that 20 GB. :) The 120 GB I have isn't enough either though. 3 movies, 19 PSN games (Burnout Paradise included), thousands of photos, maybe 450 songs?, and about 13 games with the mandatory install on there. I have save data for 134 games though. Lol. I have to erase hard drive installs a lot. For an avid gamer, 120 is still not enough.

The installs are a bit ridiculous at times. I wasn't used to it since I had a Xbox 360. I got the small ass 40 GB hard drive which didn't last too long since I bought so many games. I should have looked up online how to install the 500 GB hard drives before I bought a new 120 GB HD PS3 Slim, but I guess for now on I can use my old system for deployments, and keep the nicer PS3 slim at home. I don't really notice load times in most games and the graphical difference between PS3 and Xbox 360 doesn't matter to me either. To me they both look good with HDMI. The games I have that take up entirely too much space are: NBA Live 2010, Borderlands, Heavy Rain, GTA 4, Fallout 3: GotY Edition, and MGS 4. I don't even get why certain games take up so much space. NBA Live is over 3 GB somehow even though FIFA just takes up a few MB it's strange. I wonder how big of a difference it makes in the performance of the game. This racing game somehow takes up more space than Fallout 3: GotY which has all the expansions on the disc. That makes no sense at all to me.

Loadings will be a problem all the lifetime of the ps3 i think.
Not a real problem for me to be honest.
After all i still have a 13gb xbox360, which is worse than everything, because if you don't install your games on the drive, you're gonna be deaf in ten minutes. /jk

And i can only install 1 game at a time. Which takes me more than 10 minutes.... And that's not a joke here... :(

It has an install of 3.7GB, not 7GB like every one thinks.

It's one of them things that's been beaten to death already..sorta like RROD..it's 2010, consumers are more than aware about the PROS/CONS these VG consoles have because of *insert here*....

-If you have a PS3 and running out of room then make some fn room. Manage your HDD will ya. Hey at least you can change your HDD, if you have the know how.

-If you have a 360(it's not mandatory for installs) but comes at an expense of a (jet plane taking off) sound during play. Turn up your VOLUME and your good or INSTALL the game.

I really hope next gen we see Flash cards used as the medium of choice and not Optical. While i do have a large HDD in my PS3 now, i'd rather i fill it up with games and not install data for games.

With flash, info could be accessed on the fly and installs wouldn't be necessary. Leave some extra space on the card and put and DLC and expansion paks right on the card with it. That would be so sweet.

This game was pretty fun I enjoyed the demo

sometimes developers take advantage of the ps3s built in hard drive and make a game run smother and with short loading times(like mgs4)

but mostly developers are incapable of porting the game properly
or let the porting be done by incapable studios(like EA and sega)

Who cares about installs. Its not like we keep every game installed on hd and swap like mad. Besides sony made it so easy to simply pop in a 500 gig drive. Article is pointless. This would be an issue on xbox 360 but the hardcore sony gamer has at minimum 500gig

There are alot....I agree with pretty much all of that except for .50 cent... I'd add, Heavenly Sword, Kameo, A Ninja Gaiden trilogy, The Witcher 2, any Burnout, Warhammer Space Marine, Rage.... last gen had some classics
