Limbo shows that 2D can be terrifying

When was the last time a 2D game ever frightened you or made you terrified of your every move? If games don’t scare you at all, then I’ll leave you out, but an upcoming game from independent game studio Playdead looks like it will terrify.

"When was the last time a 2D game ever frightened you or made you terrified of your every move?"

Playing Abe's Oddysee and trying to run a huge section through loads of scrabs. All the characters are silhouetted and those scrabs just run at you. The music makes it pretty intense

Yep yep, Abe's adventure definitely was a scary one.

Heart of Darkness was also pretty creepy. Loved that game.. poor little kid.

Oddworlds Abe and Heart of darkness were 2 of the best ....

I have been mentioning this game "Limbo" many times for years now. Finally coming....

Every nook and crannie looks to be a danger zone, lots of quick thinking type puzzles of the action variety look to be the games main draw point.Interesting!

Nice style, stands out, looks to have potential.I really want more details, but this could be a special little title.Nice to see outside of the box games still alive, hyper realism has'nt taken over totally yet.

Check out Bounty arms, coming to XBLA and PSN later this year. A LBP meets Ratchet look and feel to me.....A video and test demo are at the link...

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
