Nice. I actually played Sonic 3 earlier today on XBLA. Brings back a lot of memories. Hopefully Sonic 4 will put to rest the recent horrible Sonic games.

Man I was so excited for this game. But it does look kinda choppy. Just like it's being rushed. I didn't even see much parts that involve much speed. Plus is it just me or does the gameplay seem kinda stiff. It looks like it not as agile as old sonic games. Just that Sonic's movements need lots of polish. We I hope they put some more effort into this one, I would love a new true sonic game.

I was hyped for this at first, but after some time I realized something... Maybe the original Sonic concept wasn't supposed to be revived after all. I think that, in the end, the whole thing just got old and isn't worth bringing back. The old sonic games aren't like old Mega Man games, that are full of possibilities. They're just monotonous. Running forward for a long time gets old eventually, and when there aren't any open doors for a simple little battle system, but a ridiculous attempt at puzzles (seriously, puzzles running on a Sonic engine?), this is what happens. And by the way, I agree that the design of this specific level is pretty bad... It just doesn't look fun.

This is exactly like Sonic 1. A little bit TOO close in my opinion.

Appearently Sega is scared of the angry community so they don't dare to come up with anything that's creative in this new Sonic game...

they said they would make the running animation look quicker. It doesn't.
I don't have a wii or anything, but I do cheer this game on because Sega's Blue Mascot has gotten quite the negative wrap (and rightfully so, the Werehog, really?) but for me, can't they FINE tune the game rather then completely do it over. It was the SMALL things, the little details in the sonic games that I loved. What I enjoyed about Megaman 10 is that it kept the graphics but kept going with the feel of the game.
I read in an interview in EGM about how they didn't want to do 2d sprites because it "takes too much work, and plus 3d models allow the developers to swap out and add things quickly rather than going an entire spriteset".
That just sounds like complete laziness, and it's quite insulting.

I have high hopes for this game, because I can't bear to see Sega go downhill again when they don't need to. They need to fire some people and with this project, are finally taking the right steps in pleasing their most dedicated audiences.

There were so many great games in the past (8/16/32bits era for sega, especially) that sega really needs to stop focus on sonic and start thinking about using severals of the hundreds licences they still have rights on...
