We had this f@#$ embargo until 11:00 AM today.

wissam5855d ago

Good score. but lower than what I expected. I will have fun playing it with my friend that's for sure. we are currently playing forza 3. too bad I don't own x360.

yogaflame5855d ago

for a game that took 6 years, good is not enough it should be great!

DelbertGrady5855d ago

You sound more like a publisher than a gamer.

hay5855d ago (Edited 5855d ago )

He sounds like a fanboy. This argument was often used by fanboys to downplay the game I read those statements quite often:

"It better be great for all those years in development"

Unfortunatelly long dev time often ends in disappointment.

I like this conversation here :)

Alcon Caper5855d ago

hmm..how long did FFXIII take...?

TheROsingleB5855d ago

Have people forgotten about Too Human already?
anyways...

Alan Wake looks to be an awesome game, really who cares how long it took since there are a TON of factors that would cause a game to take this long. Regardless of development time, this is going to be a fun game.

Alan Wake is what Remedy described:

A critical success.

The game's scores consist of mostly 9-10, as seen on the official forums. There's about 5-6 scores lower than an 8 total. You guys also need to remember that Remedy is a team of about 44 people, and for them to churn out games like this at a constant rate would require someone like Activision behind them.

corneliuscrust5855d ago

nothing but respect for Remedy. We don't know the details of the dev schedule and what happened in the years since they began work on the project.

I agree - say a game takes 4 years to make, the first year the game is full of new ideas and the graphics are jaw dropping. Then as time passses other games have the same ideas or maybe better and the graphics start to age.

A Late Look: Alan Wake

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran8766d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

jznrpg178d ago

People sometimes call Wal-Mart Wally World including myself

Tacoboto765d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia766d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Chocoburger766d ago

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie766d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos766d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie766d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh765d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.
