LevelUP: Alan Wake is a great title for those who are interested in games that have an excellent story;on a personal level, I can tell you that the narrative is a masterpiece that could be easily put on the table when discussing whether a game can to be art, and, if we add the excellent presentation that is up there with the greatest TV shows of our time, and the incredible visual effects, I can only recommend it widely. If David Lynch and Stephen King saw the story I'm sure they would be proud, we expect this to be the birth of a new franchise and eagerly wish that the DLC is of the same quality as the full game. I won't doubt Remedy again, Microsoft did well to get this title as an exclusive.

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Remedy has announced a new Alan Wake book and more as part of their anniversary celebration.

Alan Wake, from Max Payne and Control creator Remedy, is a horror classic, prompting one player to buy 4,000 copies that don’t even work.
Kind of a goody story...
On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.
Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.
Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.
Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.
Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄
So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.
I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.
Alan Wake is in no doubt serious contender for G.O.T.Y with over the top mouth watering graphics which of like was left to Movie Studio's and never thought possible on console's that is until now, u will be treated too a non stop heart thromping action from beginning to end Alan Wake is truly a experience u would not wanna miss out on if u love graphics alone this is a must buy title.
It's definitely a game of the year contender but of course time will tell after we play it.
was on my must buy list and now its a rental...mainly because of it being short and RDR out the same day... for 60 bucks I want value...and short SP games just dont get my $$$...same went for HR..
and judging by the reviews...how is this game a GOTY contender...most are 8.5 to 9 ???, well below games like ME2, GOW and you will see RDR all are 9.5s or better ??? so how does one think this is a GOTY contender
not matter to me, I want to play the game. I am not a fan of gore or horror, but a psychological thriller with no gore, I am in!!
All the sites that I personally frequent (outside of N4G links) have given the game great reviews, not 10's mind you, but damn good!(Destructoid, VideoGamer, CVG, OXM to name a few)
My GOTY thus far is ME2 or TF2, but Tf2 is always in the GOTY category for me!
