Capcom had a Lost Planet 2 launch party called the “Kill Big for Charity” event. This was more of a red carpeted, classy party with alcohol and free food with two different types of crowds mixed in. You’ve got the gamer crowd, and you’ve got the celebrity/VIP crowd. You can definitely tell who’s who.

Marketing the crap outta this game. My friend found two of the ice blocks they laid out around certain cities a couple weeks ago. Had 360 demo codes in PS3 game cases, and a little plastic salamander boss.
These events only bother me when the "VIP"/pseudo-celeb crowd are paid to attend and pretend to give a crap about gaming. At least a charity will benefit from it this time.
