loooooooooooooooool best videogame maker sqaure please get out. i just cant take this mag serious.
DQ game of the year yea right
soo your telling my with all the great titles of 2009 your gonna choose the one thats made be sq the game itself is just above avarage nothing special really what did it do to push the industry forward.
please famitsu dont give any scores or awards just give us the latest news and will be happy

TOO PAWNED5874d ago

yes they are very very biased. Ignoring western games is joke, considering how much BETTER they are atm compared to Japanese. For Japanese lover, dont give me that crap that western sites are ignoring Japanese games, for one that is not true, and secondly like i said compared to western games 90% of Japanese games don't come even close.

Hakimy5873d ago

some of you people are amazing.actually I realized that most of the members in N4G are amazing. That's why I started to post less here!

first, remember that their culture and taste in games is different than the west.rpgs rules and fps games suck.I'm sure that if we had many japanese websites instead of western sites then it wouldn't be strange to you or saying BS about Famitsu, which makes me go to the second point:

Dengeki posted "SURVEY" results about the top games in 2009.and as you can see, people picked the same as Famitsu!
http://news.dengeki.com/ele...

and when I see that the 1st and 2nd game are from SE,then no wonder that they will pick SE as the best video game maker (whether if I agreed to this or not).

so what do you learn from this? well first, those results don't mean that Famitsu is biased.Second,Japan gaming culture(and probably Asia too) isn't like the west.I'm sure that 90% of Asia know who Solid Snake is while only 10 or 20% know who is Master Cheif,Drake or Marcus Fenix.

ico925873d ago (Edited 5873d ago )

i kinda understand what you're saying and all RPG's are to the East what FPS are to the West, but seriously Square Enix best developer of 2009 ? i actualy know some JRPG enthusiasts that would disagree with that statement.

Hakimy5873d ago

@ico92: that's why I said that you should look at it from Japan's view.lets say M company released not just one game but more and 2 of its games ranked as the 1st and 2nd by reviews, popularity and sales then its logical to say that M company is the best video game maker for that year. There is no biased thing with this if you really think about it ;)

Best Video Game Maker
Square Enix

Umm... no.

NateNater5873d ago

Wow. Just looking through that list, you can tell Famitsu is obviously biased. Square as best developer? lol

Why Dragon Quest IX Deserves A Remake

Despite having some of the best storylines and customization options in the series, Dragon Quest IX is the only installment to never receive a port.

I wo set why this port never happened. Now with a larger and more interested fanbase, may e they will?!

I wish the majority of the previous mainline Dragon Quest games were readily available on modern platforms. 3DS is the only system that fits that criteria but this should be expanded upon

Dragon Quest IX Remake could happen on Nintendo Switch

To this day, Dragon Quest IX remains a Nintendo DS exclusive title. However, the team behind the game has made comments suggesting that a Dragon Quest IX remake is possible.

I see no reason why a DQIX remake couldn’t also be on PS4 as well as Switch

Gemmol2510d ago

Why would you want it on ps4 I have a switch and ps4 and it would be perfect on switch

It’s not final fantasy to need high end graphics plus always sold better on Nintendo

Mr Marvel2510d ago

@Gemmol - Why? Because the PS4 version is ALWAYS far superior to the Switch version. Better Frame rates, better resolution and most importantly... TROPHIES!!!

Gemmol2510d ago

@mr marvel

If the game is being made ground up for the switch it won’t have frame issues or resolution issues so your point do not stand

Your point only work if they made it for the ps4 version first than ported to switch

The developers want to make it on switch so the game would be ported to ps4 if they made it so all these things you bring up have more effect on the switch

PhoenixUp2510d ago

Because I only have a PS4 😑

How would this game being suited for Switch discredit it from also having a PS4 version? A number of Dragon Quest games nowadays release on PS4 & NS, why stop there with a possible DQIX remake?

Gemmol2510d ago

Original was on Nintendo only so I can see why they would pick switch only, but I can see why you want it now, not everyone have switch and ps4 like me so hopefully they make a ps4 version for you but at least give the switch some exclusive features if they plan to port to ps4 like being able to play in 2d like the original DS version or whatever

Last_Boss2510d ago

I really want X brought to NA & EU.

Gemmol2510d ago

Me too what system would u want it on

Last_Boss2510d ago

I'd want it on PS4 & Switch, like it is in Japan. I would buy it on PS4, cause of friends and performance.

ZeekQuattro2510d ago

I'd be game for that. It was fun having a team of DBZ characters running around. Lol

8 Square Enix Remakes We'd Love to See After Final Fantasy VII

There is a long tradition of Square Enix Remakes dating back through PlayStation history. That tradition continues with Final Fantasy VII, and will probably keep going after that. Here are some titles gamers would love to see again.

Why do lists like this never ask for the Eidos side of Square Enix? There’s plenty of remakes id like to seem from Eidos’ stories history

BlackIceJoe2581d ago

Well said. I know I'd gladly pay for a remake of Legacy of Kain and if it does well the chances for a new game increases too, which would be a plus in my book.

MWH2579d ago (Edited 2579d ago )

Amen my friend, vae victis.

PhoenixUp2581d ago

Not only that but people tend to also forget about Enix’s own titles and just mainly focus on Squaresoft’s past like it’s the only classic backlog Square Enix can return to.

Dragon Quest is the only thing people ever mention. You’ll hardly ever see the likes of Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean, & ActRaiser

Sirk7x2580d ago (Edited 2580d ago )

Or Enix. Remake Terranigma I say! One of the most underrated RPGs ever made.

Immagaiden2581d ago

Personally I’d just want Square Enix to release FFVIIR period before thinking of whatever remake they could work on after it.

Plus it’s not like we even have to wait for that to release for another remake to be made. Their last one was Secret of Mana last year. They can still release smaller scale remakes in the meantime

on_line_forever2579d ago

Iam still hope someday Square Enix cooperate with fromsoftware to remake VAGRANT STORY

Relientk772581d ago

Brave Fencer Musashi
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX

NecrumOddBoy2580d ago

I would love for Square to take Chrono Trigger as is, repolish it with an overlay of lighting effects and actually get an orchestra to do the soundtrack. (I wish CT had a live cover too).

Also would love to see Enix's E.V.O Search for Eden remade in something that resembles the Ubisoft Framework Engine. This game is incredible yet almost completely forgotten.

Sirk7x2580d ago (Edited 2580d ago )

Could possibly look amazing employing tilt shift like Octopath's art style. That game has beautiful sprite work and lighting. Also, EVO, hell yes.

-Foxtrot2580d ago

Final Fantasy VIII

They already skipped VIII out with a port and trophy support so they better not skip it for the next remake

The garden battle in HD would be glorious
