In offering too many games, services and a lovely box to look at which is very customisable! LOL.

Other than that yes it does have its faults but they are easily made up for the simple fact Microsoft has tons of games and the online is incredible.

They lied for 18 months! And alot of people like me got caught in the middle and screwed. My 360 died 3 months ago out of warranty. I didn't want to pay them $140 to fix their own faulty crap so I opened it up and tried the heat gun method. It didn't work and now my warranty is void. The frickin' 3 year extention does squat for me. I was still sold a $400 defect piece of crap. Alot of people got burned during their "denial" phase. So excuse me if I'm just a little pissed at them!

Ok, the ps3 has been getting $hit on ever since its release and pretty much every website bashed it saying it was worthless and now sony is actually stepping up and fighting back. its awesome to see how much the progressed they made in just one week from what hole they dug themselves in from launch. you can say this site is run by sony fanboys but what about all the damn articles about which console was more powerful or and which processor was more powerful. its good to see sony can now put all of those articles to shame and prove to them they have a superior machine.

Xbox 360 went wrong...from the begining. It should have never been born in the first place.

You Sony fans have destroyed this site with anti MS news nobody etc visits game site to read nothing but fanboy fud(its like watching FOX News talking about far left loons everyday of the week; one can only take so much hate and malice before they say hey!; this is no longer news but a hub for one type of persons agenda lets move on).

No Wii fans on this site and all the 360 fans are not visiting anymore and virtually stop posting MS news because there isn't anybody that takes this site seriously anymore all because you fanatics want people to share or hear your views.

What are you people going to do after you chase everybody but Sony fanboys from the site will you chase them?, will you care about all the things you try and get across every day anymore?. Dam the site is flooded with KillZone 2 threads yet Halo 3 nor KZ2 made the top buzz worthy games list.

they all have they're own strength's and weakness's. I love the fact that every fanboy (360,ps3, not so much wii) who posts on here make out like their brand is the way to go, well I found this review while looking for a ps3 and I thought it has some sound and impartial info regarding the two mortal enemies that are ms and sony:

Firstly, my credentials - I am a game designer for an independent European games company and I have to understand the architecture of a system to program on it. I am also a hardcore gamer across all formats and own all the "next gen" consoles.

The PS3 is a very good console and it does have a lot of potential. However, the same is true of the XBox360. Neither console is being utilised anywhere near it's potential.

Which is the better console? It depends how you analyse the figures. The PS3 has a faster processing set-up on paper and runs a lot cooler than the XBox processor but the XBox processor has a much better and well thought out architecture so the two are pretty much neck-a-neck in terms of real "speed" and processing power... also note that the PS3 is stifled and crippled by too little L1 and L2 cache memory to utilise the floating points effectively so will only ever realise 70% of the hardware potential.

Much has been made of the better RAM in a PS3 but they're both GDDR3 RAM units and the XBox has double.

The graphics processing units are again an interesting comparison. The XBox 360 has a faster overall transfer rate for GPU than the PS3 but the PS3 has better potential for smoothness due to no bottlenecking on the designated RAM (the 10MB buffer for the XBox 360 will prove a slight choke on performance as the consoles mature) - although the anti-aliasing and lighting ability from a handling point of view are quite frankly pathetic on the PS3 - no amount of firmware updates will solve that sadly. Please also note that Gears of War, which Sony claims utilises the entirety of the 360's power doesn't - it only uses around 45% of the consoles potential as it's very cleverly written and designed.

The Blue Ray drive is a massive plus - for Microsoft to only plump for a 12x DVD ROM drive was a bad move. Although more than fast enough for transferring data to the system (both this speed drive and the Blue Ray drive have a similar data transfer rate at top speed), I would have liked to have seen at least a 20x to increase load times, which are really poor on the PS3.

Which console is the best? It depends what you go for - but BOTH score 4/5 in my book. Microsoft have suffered for pushing it out when only 90% complete (note the overheating problems that are posted frequently although I've never had the problem) but Sony have suffered for trying to be "cutting edge" but cutting corners, the specs suggest a paper tiger but Sony have compromised certain aspects of the console to facilitate not making too much of a loss by providing a Blu-Ray drive and this will come back to bite them hard, as will the fact the XBox architecture is much more designer friendly and easier to optimise. Hardware wise, the nod goes to Sony slightly but the performance variance is minute - both consoles have different strengths.

The Wii cannot be compared to either as it's a completely separate gaming angle and experience and you've got to respect the Big N for going that far.

Oh, and anybody who suggests the Sony online experience can hold a candle to XBox live is clearly deranged - or just too cheap and begrudge £40.00 per year - as XBox live has naturally been evolving over the past 5 years and has a head start it'll probably take Sony the next 2 console cycles to catch up on.

Just my 2-pennies worth - I don't want to start a flaming war just be aware that both Sony and Microsoft are PR kings but that Sony's track record of overpromising and underdelivering (PS2 anyone? With the "real life" potential of the Emotion chip???) has again been realised.

i don't hate the 360 games.or the real fans of 360.just the company,the fanboys and the hardware issues.if they fix the system,mass effect is mine.carry on and enjoy E3.

Well I feel like I've been trying to say that niether console is better than the other it just depends on what games you like for a long time. Honestly though I think its most of the 12 yr olds who try to scream and yell that their console of choice is the best because.......well basicly what they read on a forum re-gurgitated in their own words or sometimes even a cut & paste. The thing is it doesn't bother me so much because people over-estimate a site of this nature anyway.....NO one(its very rare) changes their mind about what they like based on this site, seriously for those who are still using the same name, their preference 6 months ago, is pretty much their preference today.

Actually I don't mind seeing negative news posted about the 360 or any other console but the difference is with this news is that its a "duplicate story" because its full of most of the same news that has already been posted already on N4G, yes its a different website but its the same news essentially that has been re-hashed many times. Alot of the negative Sony news was about different mistakes that sony themselves made, most of which was PR type comments and claims they made, yes there was plenty of BS which I didn't think was fair either, but I do see a major difference because like I said this is essentially the same story posted everyday. Honestly I don't see that changing much here at N4G, it is for good or bad a user driven site, and of course some users have their agenda, but at the same time I think it will wear out when, the evidence in a few months suggests there are a lot less hardware failures because sooner or later, we will start to get some "hard" data about whether or not the new strategy that M$ implemented has improved the situation or at least the speculative stories won't make much sense without some type of real analysis being conducted. (polls, surverys, or reports from a % of 360 owners with verified gamertags, etc.)

I still think this is a great site but I do wish the mods would take a little more control over whats posted and some of the extreme members who do nothing but hate without actually contributing anything to the site, while I do find most fanboys funny, there are a few who do nothing but taunt the other side and call names every single post and I think this site is starting to lose some balance just because other than losing these much over-rated bubbles I don't think theres anything in place to ban those who basicly do nothing but attack other members. I consider myself a mature adult, so I take everything on this site with a grain of salt, but if this site continues down the path of going more and more towards just fanboy war posts and less about the "videogame wars"(yes theres a difference) then I think it will lose its appeal to me and many other real gamers no matter what console they prefer. If I wanted to read "filtered" news that makes my console of choice seem like the best thing since sliced bread, while reading other news that made the other console only look like a terrible console then I would join a dedicated fanboy site, overall I think this site still gets alot of great news quickly so like I said its a great site, I just wish contributors would post more quality type news posts, if you see something newsworthy even if its negative by all means post it, but if its basicly the same news from a different author maybe its "old news."
