Killzone is really overhyped, graphics are great but I hope for Sony Killzone 2 does not play as crappy as Killzone 1 did. I still think Killzone 2 is just an ordinary shooter, with beefed up graphics.

Call of Duty 4 looks almost the same.

thats the most amazing gameplay I have seen yet, aside from crysis visualy, but the atmospher in KZ2 more than makes up for it, and did you see the smoke swirling around the aircraft?! or just the clouds in general! they even got some sort of blind fire goodness! xD

Dont be too quick to compare KZ2 to halo 3 though, Killzone still has alot to prove but this video gives me high hopes.

after watching the Halo 3 trailer, i have to say that, visually, this game looks better than that also.

strangely enough, i didn't *LIKE Killzone on the PS2. i thought it had wonderful potential, but the hardware just wasn't capable enough (at the time), to fit their vision.

this time around, however, i think the PS3 and their design document is a perfect match.

Gears, Halo, and Killzone are all testaments to the power of their respective systems.

if i owned a 360, i'd be proud to.

i happen to own a PS3, and i'm certainly proud to own it. i did before, and i especially do now.

bring on Ratchet, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Lair, MGS4, and Killzone, and i'm set for a while.

Not quite on par with the original trailer but still looks good, lots of detail and the screen appears to be very busy alot of the time which is very impressive. The lightening effects that streak the sky are also very cool.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes, it does look better than most games at present visually but it is not the leap many are claiming.

I would say that come 2010 the 360 and the PS3 will both be churning out titles that vastly outperform this.

I'm thoroughly impressed with the graphics, and the amount of action on screen looks incredibly intense. Now, I'd love a walk through, lol...I know, never satisfied. Anyway, it looks great, and I'm happy to say I own a PS3.

Once again, the Sony games shine in the classic department of effects (weather, look at the way people breathe up in the clouds) and lighting. This has been true since the old Playstation days, they just do great lighting and particle effects.

A lot of people will be saying how so and so shooter looked better... While it might be true in regards to texture on someone's clothes, it is definitely not true in other regards.

seriously no flame the game looks good but its not anywhere near the trailer, which isn't the worst thing in the world cause that CGI is hard to match but really its not any better than many other current shooters, and really it needs to get sharper cause its very blurry atm, I don't see anything impressive, just looks like a good shooter that it, sony promised the trailer or better, yet this is just along the lines of Darkness, but sony kids have a short memory=

well on analysis with the trailer here is what i noted. The very 1st explosiin at the instant it exploded the flames sucked but as they crashed the flames looked excellent. I need to see it on my ps3 to really take proper note of the lighting. The blood effects in this game are excellent and i love the shooting over cover technique. The animation system is stellar and its hard to match the amount of stuff going on screen at a time. I am 100% satisfied with this trailer and the thought that it will only look better after this and also in hd makes me proud to own a ps3.

couple of things the fire was'nt to hot and the explosion looked like its going to be the same animation every time

in the halo beta every rocket launcher explosion looks the excapt same which is a disapointment for next gen-machines

Before we blow this out of proportion... it looks good, but its just one game. How many people are going to spend £495 just for one game?

This is a good start, but they need 4 or 5 more exclusives of this quality to really kickstart the PS3.

Halo will be great. This game looks great, hopefully it will play great and if so, it'll be one of the top FPS for any console.

I think Killzone 2 deliever on it's lofty expectations, but lets not get carried away. There still a long ways to go, which includes awesome gameplay, crazy multiplayer with little to no lag, and only then will it be rated better than Gears of War or Halo. So far it's got part 1 of the recipe, but it still needs a lot more.

I own a 360 and a ps3, no bias at all, I have to say that the character animations are just incredible. I love gears, and I'm not even going to say this looks better than gears graphically, but the cinematic value in the fighting is indeed superior. I know I'll probably lose a bubble for that, but whatever. Just look at the enemies being hit with bullets, they react as if they're being hit with bullets. The deaths from explosions aren't just ragdoll physics tossing a dude 50 feet away, they characters actually react as if they're holding on to dear life. It's really cool.

haha, just give credit where credit is due. This is good work from a studio who hasn't done much to impress in the past. Improvement is never a bad thing.

Xbox 360 owner here.. all you little kids that are saying it looks bad don't need to lie, it looks good. The opening scene looked kind of mediocre but once they landed I was very impressed by the graphics and subtle effects. I am skeptical how it can look this good when Killzone 1 was such a sloppy mess, there wasn't a hitch in the frame rate or a single jaggie that I noticed. It's definitely not better looking than GoW but I like the art style better.

they should do a side by side comparison of the original cg trailer and this one. I think the game comes really close. The only dissapointing thing that struck as way off was the fire. But all in all guerilla really did come thru. Glad to see xbox bashing of the game is minimal. Leads me to believe they are hiding in fear or just offering respect. I want to believe its respect because thats really all this game deserves

I loved the gameplay parts, not so much the opening sequence. It looks great, but as others have already pointed out, nowhere near the target video. Still, better than I expected, especially after that awfully mediocre screenshot.

clearly has their 360 smashed up their a$$es. That was one of the most amazing things I've seen. IGN, Kotaku and Joystick all agree too. If this is pre-alpha, the finished version of this game is going to make me reconsider leaving my house.

The lighting in some parts almost match the '05 trailer, the animations look fluid, and there are a lot of things happening at once. I also liked the effects of the blood and the damage on environments and how enemies react when you shoot them.

What I noticed that differed from the '05 trailer are the fire and smoke effects, the lighting on clothes and armor, and the lighting on the ground and the distant environment. Since it's noted as pre-alpha, I'll take it they will improve many more things.

(BTW: I never ask, but can anyone help my bubbles out?)

Ok I always try not to be bias, I have seen the Halo3 trailer, the call of duty 4 trailer....etc etc

This is difficult but I actually said some time ago that the Xbox-360 does graphics better than the PS3 which I still believe, but I also said that PS3 will do better physics due the the processor and this would often look more impresive even though the textures are poor (which they are), Xbox-360 will always have better textures/bump mapping, PS3 will have better physics.

Personally the best graphics at E3 so far goes to PGR4.

I am a little underwhelmed by Halo3 and Killzone 2 (I don't let hype cloud my judgment). Do I think Killzone 2 and Halo3 will be great games (yes), but graphins wise they could be better. Gears of War does have the better textures, Killzone 2 has more going on, comparing Halo 3 to either of the two is hard because of the art direction but Gears and Killzone both have there good and bad points.

Bottom line is you could buy a PS3 or a Xbox-360 and be perfectly happy. I am sticking with Xbox-360 and possibly will buy a PS3 once the price is acceptable and the games are availble which is some time off.

The reviews will tell the ultimate tale.

This looks incredible, from what I can see in this trailer vidual it has far more detail, action and atompshere than Gears of War and yes I owned and completed it (in 2 days on medium defficulty - it was my 1st fps).

I'm only doing a comparison because there has to be a benchmark and visually for consoles it has to be GoW. If they can have more than 4 v 4 mulitplayer with this game (like Resistance: Fall of Man) it could be a real trimuph. I hated spending 2 minutes looking for an opponent on GoW only to be chainsawed by someone hiding round a corner or for lag to set in, sorry, losing the subject matter a bit here, my bad. I'm still bitter my 360 died I admit but only because I liked it so much (Crackdown is still the best game I've ever played).

And when I mean it surpassed it I'm talking about the old Killzone trailer Crysis has nothing like this PS3 even beat Crysis even in terms of graphics! you must be joking! and even in gameplay!.

This looks amazing. Great lighting and shadowing techniques.
Also has great music. Very dark. Has to be the best facial graphics on any real time game so far.
I know I always ask this but...will there be mouse and keys? Because Epic are programming for a mouse and keys option on Unreal 3, so I think they should get that going for this puppy too. That would send it into the stratosphere for sales imo.

I liked the destructible environments and the lighting. I have some questions about gameplay though...can you aim down the sites (ala COD's)? How about melee' (I may have missed something here though)? Can you jump? I'm more interested in the gameplay aspects. If the game looks good but isn't fun to play, what's the point?

Also, Pre-Alpha?? When is this thing going to be released?

Finally, a game using the PS3's strengths, not it's weaknesses. Advanced animations, post processing effects like motion blur, what looks to be almost global radiosity lighting, nice fragment programs... these are things the PS3 can do in spades. Yes, the texture detail isn't quite close to the level of Gears of War, but the PS3 is not a texture monster, that's one of the 360's fortes. While Gears does a good job showing off what a focused 360 game can accomplish, it looks to me like this game is going to show what a focused PS3 game can do. Which game is greater? We won't know that till it's in our hands. Until then, let's cool off on the moronic comparisons. And by the way, if you say this game looks like skite or bad in some way, you may need to remove the fan-vision specs, kids.

First time I saw it, I thought only when the gun came up was it in-game, but according to IGN, the entire thing was gameplay!

I was impressed by what I saw later in the sequence, but now knowing that the beginning was ALSO in-game...I have to say..I'm amazed they came as close to their '05 pre-rendered trailer as they did.

Great job on Guerilla's end...and let's hope gameplay doesn't completely blow >_<!

Hopefully, since Sony's banking on this title SO MUCH, we'll get a demo before the game hits stores.

This game also easily beats Gears. Some argue Gears has better textures, well I like KZ 2 textures more, Gears has just shiny plastic written all over it. When I compare it with Crysis, I think I still have to go with Crysis, but that's maybe just cause I like the jungle graphics more.

The trailer really has a nice feel to it. I really have to hand it to Guerrilla. The trailer does what it is to do want you to get this game. So I for one can't wait to play this game.

I am Impressed looks better than I expected and it still is not coming out till next year. I want this game now and they really need a Beta. PLEASE SONY GIVE US A DEMO OR A BETA?

I'm not sure what to think of it. I think COD4 looks like a better game(similar graphics, better gameplay)
Graphics aren't everything boys, it may have the most annoying gameplay going, we just don't know yet.

I was quite impressed by the character models although they obviously need some tuning, my main concern however is the textures.

They are just bland.

In my opinion both the 360 and the PS3 got it wrong in development, they should both have at least 1GB of ram. It would have given developers alot more options.

I really enjoy the graphics in this trailer, but everything somehow seems too...shallow? I dont know if this is the correct word Im looking for but If I had a ps3 I would rent it to show of the power of the ps3 and have some fun. But theres just something about the flow of the game that doesnt appeal to me.

I'll wait til it comes out to furthur judge it, but presentation of the whole thing seems to be lack luster somehow even with all the pretty graphics. But this does show the potential of the ps3 and with this hoepfully we will see floods of new games looking as great as this within a year.

If this shows anything thou its that we are in for one hell of a E3!! Can't wait for more fantastic new trailers!

dont blow it out of proportion the graphics were great not superb and when the only colors ur using is brown and grey for 98% of the game i'm sure that helps the game be easier to program

I must say that IMO it looks really good!! I think it looks better than Halo 3 but.... I didnt see a lot of the Halo 3 campaign. NOW!!! I think the COD4 looks better than KZ2. you guys have to admit that COD4 out shined all games there. you sony boys got what you hoped for a good looking KZ2, but come on COD4 was the 5hit!!

I dont know about everyone but personally, I seriously enjoyed the trailer. Some jaggies and bad choices aside, this was one of the best trailers I've seen in quite some time. Cant wait for more.
I think they should tone the brightness down a bit and make it look darker and also use more anti-aliasing but aside from those, just perfect.

Look better than Killzone 2, Gears has realtime lighting and alot more bump mapping. Sorry, try again Sony. Don't even mention Crysis blows this away as well.

Simply, if this game was based on just graphics, it probably can be compared with other AAA titles such as Halo, Gears of war (might not even be as good as gears or COD4 graphically), but if you are talking about everything and I mean everything, as the attention to details and animations and multiple things going on in the environment, then this is surely the best game made yet, NO DOUBT...I'm a gamer and even though this game has some high end graphics which I can appreciate, the gameplay and in-game footage is supreme to anything bar-none, cause lets face it, most next gen games that have been made and are being made such as Bio-shock don't bring much to real-life animation and what not but has gr8 graphics, but who can't make good graphics with next gen anyway...Thats why the Wii outsells most, because of the gameplay. So all I am saying is, if that was real gameplay, this game is gonna be one of the greats

everything here pissed over gears... this just prooves that we were right all along with our purchase. this is a pre alpha game pre freakin alpha. i cant believe a pre alpha game can look this good. and they are going beta in october time frame with a release some where in February. my god. this 20+ million dollar budget game looks amazing.

i cant wait i'm definately buying my brither a PS3 so he can play this game, becvause seriously i'm not freakin sharing mine with anybody untill i've beaten it 3 times over and have spent plenty of time in the Multiplayer.

E3 is as good as done for me, after i see the MGS4 trailer i'm done with e3 and is seriously confident in whats to come. Mart can continue to do what he wants and all those XBOX extreme fanbois can chime and spin it how ever they want.

The proof is now there for everyone to see, and you guys are no where to be found. we have it. and it's all in the PS3's first year and begining of it's second. we'll be happy. and i'm sure i'll be playing all the other games on 360, but this right now justifies my saying. as of right now there isn't anything on the 360 that screams omg i need on. everone else

Sorry buddy, but you don't have a clue. KZ 2 smashes COD4 in animations, polygon count and detail. It's technically better, you think COD4 is better only cause of it's art direction as it uses more photorealistic textures. KZ2 doesn't intend to look photorealistic and that's good, Crysis is already the photorealistic top notch title that I will get.

It looks very good but some stuff concern me a bit. How come there are no meters at all and no crosshair for the rifle when the supposed ingame scenes are shown? The weapon sways in a way that tells me it's staged gameplay. Probably using the ingame engine, but something tells me it's not footage of actual gameplay. Not trying to deny anything here, it has amazing visuals. Still, these things bother me a bit.

Sony has many different types of AAA titles coming, Lair and HS to name a few. Name me please just one AAA Xbox360 exclusive that isn't a shooter or RPG.

Man, I expected to be disappointed, now I expect to have 60 less dollars in my account the day this comes out.

I knew this wouldnt come nowhere near matching the famous trailer. Even so, it is looking just like I expected to...pretty damn good, but far from mindblowing. But at least Sony boys will have another shooter besides resistance to play. Alas, I am a bit dissappointed because I really wanted to see Sony pull off what they said they could not only do, which was have the game look just like the other e3 trailer, but make it look better. But, congrats to Guerilla games, cause lord knows these guys track record sucks, but at least this game can maybe at least compete with Gears and Halo. But like one of the poster above said, the actual gaming experience have to be there too. Graphics alone didnt sell Gears or Halo, it was the gaming experience that got people to spread the word, and I would hope like hell that Sony don't pull a virtua fighter or Gran Turismo 4 and even think of coming with no decent multiplayer.

wow the Sony fanboy reaction is totally off the charts. My reaction, the art style, animation and the camera comes close enough to the 2005 trailer. But the textures and shader effects(contrary to hype Gears totally blows Killzone in shader department) are not good but because of the former three if the gameplay is executed well its going to be ton of fun.

oops I didn't know that I thought it was coming in two-three months against Halo, well then for pre-pre-Alpha build count me very impressed , with half a year left they can do wonders. Crysis was very impressive from Day 1 and I personally love the realistic look its going for and the physics was also impressive from Day 1. I am not really trying to kick Killzone or anything. I just got a PS3 and I will be glad to have this. Its just my personal opinion nothing more.

Had this game came out at launch, would the PS3 be in a better situation with console sales?
