David Jaffe Is Not Making Twisted Metal?

dont be such a b!tch and make the damn game already! tm black is one of the greatest games of all time.

NegativeCreepWA5878d ago (Edited 5878d ago )

I'm really starting to hate this guy, he's getting really vain. He needs to "put up or shut up" because these stupid games he's playing with announcing his next game are getting old.

Maybe he should stop trying to play hollywood on some lame reality show and spend more time making his game.

fishd5878d ago

Twisted metal is coming to PS3,It was confirmed ffs :

Jsynn75878d ago

That pic is just too funny! LOLZ!

Blaze9295878d ago

Why do we even need Jaffe to make the next TM? You guys act like he's the only one who can do it. God of War 2 and 3 turned out just fine without him.

It's we should be inquiring about since it's up to them to make another game or not in the series.

erathaol5878d ago

The thing about David Jaffe is that you can choose to listen to what he says or choose to completely ignore him. He's said several times that he can't officially announce his new game until Sony lets him and that seems like it could be at E3. Until than he's dropping red herrings and clues all over the place cause he enjoys it.

CernaML5878d ago

"Why do we even need Jaffe to make the next TM? You guys act like he's the only one who can do it"

We've already had other people work on Twisted Metal games. They were terrible.

ThanatosDMC5878d ago

I completely agree with you. This guy is such an attention whore.

-Alpha5878d ago

The reason why those were terrible was because it was handled by crappy studios like 989. Blaze is right, the game can be done without Jaffe.

The reason why is that Sony simply is the mastermind behind a good game. They inject a studio full of cash and freedom and great games happen. Look at Guerilla Games' history. Made a lot of mediocre games, Sony picks them up and they give us K2.

Cenobia5878d ago

That is exactly why I don't understand why people care about that POS Itagaki.

Sorry, but I seriously hate that guy.

/off topic

CernaML5878d ago

"The reason why those were terrible was because it was handled by crappy studios like 989. Blaze is right, the game can be done without Jaffe. "

I have yet to see a good Twisted Metal game that wasn't developed by Jaffe. And how the hell was 989 Studios crappy?

captain-obvious5878d ago (Edited 5878d ago )

i got a lot of casual friends that loved the old Twisted Metals
just because of the split screen

i hope the new Twisted Metal got split screen in it

and by the way God of War is not David Jaffe own idea
they said that GOW is a team baby

so with out santa monica there would be NO GOW
same other wise

-Alpha5878d ago

"I have yet to see a good Twisted Metal game that wasn't developed by Jaffe. And how the hell was 989 Studios crappy?"

That's the thing though, the games that weren't developed by Jaffe were developed by 989 Studios, and they ruined it. I actually don't know much of 989 and I hastily generalized them, so sorry. But my point was that in comparison to Jaffe-made games the series has sucked because it was handled by a third party. Sony didn't help out with TM3 (989's version)... I think...

Jaffe's vision is great but it can be run without him, hence God of War 3's success, Sony just works its magic.

CernaML5878d ago

Haha 989 Studios was a 1st party Sony studio. The original developers (SingleTrac) weren't. Ironic isn't it?

"That's the thing though, the games that weren't developed by Jaffe were developed by 989 Studios, and they ruined it."

Isn't that pretty much the exact same thing that I mentioned in my first comment? lol

morganfell5878d ago (Edited 5878d ago )

989 gave us the first and second Syphon Filter and were largely responsible for Everquest. They have quite a few other good games to their credit.

Liquid_Ocelot5878d ago

I don't care what his tweets say, that game was confirmed, there better be a TM dropping soon.

@Cenobia
Omg! A smart man! Finnaly! Yeah, WTF is up with that Itagaki POS

Liquid_Ocelot5878d ago

I meant "finally". Stupid BlackBerry

CernaML5878d ago

Ahh you see? They aren't a crappy studio at all. They were just bad at handling Twisted Metal. Was it because they just couldn't understand the world that another studio could have been better at or was it because David Jaffe wasn't part of the team? Who knows. I just want a proper Twisted Metal game for the PS3. NOW. Twisted Metal was always my very first game for every Playstation platform.

shadow27975878d ago

It's going to be really, really sad when it actually isn't Twisted Metal...

tweet translation for the dense:

"Yeah twisted metal is gonna be cool but i cant reveal anything until sony give the go ahead and that more than likely is going to be saved for a megaton conference reveal."

sony's e3 is going to be F**king massive.

ClownBelt5878d ago

Thank you for that awesome and clear translation. Lmao

Nah but seriously, what jack said is pretty much true.

SoapShoes5878d ago

He's just playing coy! He can't reveal anything so he has to say something like that and honestly that's what I and many would say when denying something.

Nitrowolf25878d ago (Edited 5878d ago )

Seems like he might be hinting that he is working on it, but to get an answer because he himself cannot say it you'll need Sony to tell us.
So E3

Wow cyberpunk is a great pick up. If you haven’t played it you should definitely give it a try

Christopher314d ago

Banishers was dragged down by the need to go back to old areas multiple times.

GhostScholar315d ago

Also if you bought it at launch and couldn’t deal with all the bugs it’s a totally different game now

stupidusername315d ago

Played it on release and thought it was a mess. But I'm currently playing it again now on both PS5 and Switch 2 with cross save progression, and it's really different to how I remember it. Really enjoying it now, and it's really polished and immersive.

darthv72315d ago

Despite owning the 2077 One X console and the steelbook edition of the game... i still have never played it. I may actually give 2077 a try (via the portal) as there has been so much talk about it again, thanks to SW2 and now this comparison vid from DF. https://youtu.be/SvGQik3m6a...

dveio315d ago (Edited 315d ago )

I think it's an okay decision or happening.

iirc, wasn't there even a new and probably last update coming soon announced recently?

I've never played 2077, neither. (I am still a bit mad about their ... well, anyway.)

But I think it can't get better to play that game, or any game for that matter, in a 100% complete, fully updated build.

DivineHand125315d ago

Cyberpunk and Risk of rain 2 are the best of the bunch. Not a bad month if you are one of the few that haven't played those games.

yeastori315d ago

Cyberpunk is probably one of the best games I've ever played, even when it came out with all the bugs and glitches and broken gameplay on consoles, I still loved it at its core because the world was exactly what I wanted in a dystopian vision of the real future and the story was actually well done and compelling. With the fixes and then Phantom Liberty I just knew that this game could've been GOTY winner if it hadn't been released too early and released on PS5. XBX and two years later.

shinXseijuro315d ago

Might give cyberpunk a chance now that the game redeemed itself . Is it only the basic game or with the newer content ?

xHeavYx315d ago

According to the article, it's just the base game, but the DLC will be 30% off

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Cacabunga597d ago

Last one on ps4 wasn’t good at all.
Hoping for some good reboot or remake of the first 3

Dagexon597d ago

You mean the one on ps3?

Cacabunga596d ago

Yes i do, thanks! I realized too late couldn’t edit

badboyz09597d ago (Edited 597d ago )

Lego 2K Drive features an exciting mode called Brick Brawl, inspired by Twisted Metal. Players can create, share, and upload various cars, including ones like Sweet Tooth. The game boasts thousands of custom cars, ranging from the Batmobile to the Sweet Tooth ice cream truck.

InUrFoxHole597d ago

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series

TiredGamer597d ago (Edited 597d ago )

TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.

Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.

InUrFoxHole597d ago

Lol, nice! I remember having the tiger handheld or watch..

FinalFantasyFanatic596d ago

I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.

UltimateOwnage597d ago

Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.

Snookies12597d ago

Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.
