Gamernode: Mass Effect 2: Kasumi - Stolen Memory Review

The new character, Kasumi Goto, is a master thief with an energetic attitude, but she is barely built up as an interesting character. Aside from the Cerberus email to Shepard regarding her background, players are not given much information about her. Given the quality background and development of Shepard's other squad members, Kasumi sticks out as an underdeveloped and ultimately forgettable teammate, which is unfortunate when considering how rich ME 2's cast is as whole.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast540d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine540d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast540d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman540d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast539d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

As far as #2 goes doesn't the war/invasion, that while you're acting as a tourist millions die, make that next to impossible?

loveassassin135204d ago

Yea, the death and destruction, millions die thing, does help make scale by itself. Although it would still be cool if they found a way to bring back some sort of planet exploration aspect.

chriski3335204d ago

question ? if i buy say armor or any dlc from mass effect2 can i use it in mass effect3?????

krazykombatant5204d ago

I believe some, idk if all armor and weapons from ME2 will be available from the get go if you transfer your character from ME2. Actually even if you didn't have the DLC i think you get some of the armors.

h311rais3r5204d ago (Edited 5204d ago )

Here's my #1! How about they stop removing parts of the game to sell later so I will actually buy it? I was going to buy it then I found out that ea forced bioware with the crucial dlc! So guess what EA u just lost a sale but I'll still be playing it ;) and you are getting none Of my money.

loveassassin135204d ago

I agree as well, and that's sort of what I hinted with in my #5, I really don't like how it seems they just take out parts of the game, that "should" be a part of the full game, but sell them on the side for some extra cash. That's why I'm probably going to Gamefly the game (since their PR company ran out of review copies), and if I decided to buy it, I can at least get it for $20 off.

Blacktric5204d ago

Again: Prothean Javik IS in the retail game as an NPC. If you want to recruit him, you need to get the DLC. That's it. Otherwise, nothing is removed from the game that's important to lore.

krazykombatant5204d ago

right so a living prothean isn't important to the lore..

Blacktric5204d ago

I really am worried about some of you guys. I really am. Did you read what I wrote? Probably not. You just saw my avatar and assumed I defended the game using a crappy argument, much like yours, without having two bit of a clue. Am I going good so far? Now. Let's read what I wrote together.

"Prothean Javik IS IN THE RETAIL GAME AS AN NPC. If you want to recruit him, you need to get the DLC."

So what do we get from this? Javik is actually in the game. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? HE REALLY IS! And you know what else? If you took 20 seconds of your sweet ass important time and read what I wrote, you'd know it instead of blabbering the same bullshit like those turian nutheads on Bioware forums. HE IS IN THE GAME AS AN NPC. HE HAS THE SAME IMPACT TO THE LORE AS HE HAS WHEN HE'S A SQUADMEMBER AND YOU ONLY NEED THE GODDAMN 10 DOLLAR DAY 1 DLC TO RECRUIT HIM. NOT TO ADD HIM TO THE GAME. Now... I bid you farewell and I hope to God I never EVER see you replying to me or any half-intelligent comment for that matter.

krazykombatant5204d ago

LOL sorry to dissapoint but i'll reply to you, just because of how offensive your reply was. The fact that hes already in the game, as an NPC shows that he was created along side of the game, and that they took it out of the game to charge you for his little side mission.

I'll keep it short so enjoy taking it from on all fours from bioware/ea in the future don't bitch about their pricing and DLC tactics.

DUH wasn't it obvious in the game she didn't have any friends.

rabidpancakeburglar5396d ago

Playing ME2 right now, not a fan of Jack.

MasterD9195396d ago

Jack is pretty handy in a squad though. She absorbs a lot of hits more than some of the other squad members. Plus its amusing to hear her call everyone an asshole every 5 minutes.
