Capcom Unveiling Marvel vs Capcom 3 at Captivate? - Gamervision.com

Luke Brown of Gamervision.com writes: "While the rumor of Marvel vs Capcom 3 has been consistently bandied about year after year, this week, that rumor may actually come true. As you may or may not know, this week Capcom is holding their annual Captivate event in Honolulu, Hawaii. Now, normally, when and where they're holding the event wouldn't be a big deal. Of course, when the editor of Marvel.com, Ryan Penagos (aka Agent_M) arrives at Honolulu International Airport at the same time Capcom is holding their event, my Spidey Sense starts tingling."

And plz use the SFIV engine!

Boody-Bandit5860d ago

I love fighting games. My shiny new SSFIV sticks arrive tomorrow on the UPS truck. Just in time to break them in for SSFIV. If this game comes out I will buy shiny new MVCC sticks. Love collectors items.

Kevin your that best. Your commericals are too funny man

Oh my god, I would sh*t my pants if this came true, but not holding my breath. I bought a Dreamcast just for MvC2. Theres too many rumors of this, somethings gotta happen.

@Brklynty1

wtf SF4 engine is garbage. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom has better animations then SF4. So i guess your hoping for no air block lol.

stevemcqueen195860d ago

@imdaboss yeah, tatsunoko vs capcom was great. if it's in that same style, i'll be stoked. as long as the controls are a bit more advanced.

hot damn, i just might have to buy a fighting game once again.

JewyMcJew5860d ago

I thought there was a licensing exclusivity problem with Marvel?

stevemcqueen195860d ago

that's true... but you've got to admit, marvel higher-ups showing up in Hawaii right at the same time is a little suspicious.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman12d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
