IGN: Saw II Hands-on Preview

IGN writes: "Whether you liked the original Saw game like IGN's David Clayman, or you were disappointed with it like I was, Saw II is coming. While it's been scarcely six months since the original was released, Konami's determined to give fans of the franchise more of Jigsaw's diabolical world to explore. The biggest questions I had going into the brief demo I played, though? Would the developer work out the flaws of the original, creating an experience that is actually horrific and, more importantly, fun?"

You know the scary part of all this? I've gotten way too acclimatized to all these gory deaths, that none of them phase me anymore

I think I'm becoming a monster O_o

Watch Berserk anime or manga there´s some messed up stuff in there and the story is great.

Once you get used to it nothing scares you anymore.

Watching someone die in a video game (movie) is nothing like seeing real death, so don't you worry about it.

Ha! You know, I didn't think of it that way until you mentioned it. Totally agree.

Though (now that I think about it more carefully), one thing that ALWAYS gets me (either in books, movies, video games, etc) is when a person is getting their throat slashed. I CRINGE HARD!

I find all the ones that show the character you play as dying are all terrifying. It must be to do with that I care about the character I play as in the game and what happens to them. I think it also means the developers did a good job in creating a game that has influenced the player to feel like this.

Mortal Kombat X seems to include some gruesome deaths im glad the series is still strong on heavy violence.

For me the worst death in videogames ive seen is on GTA san andreas http://youtu.be/9wcHhY7aP5U... just imagining it makes my skin crawl

GameFocus: Saw II: Flesh & Blood Review

GameFocus: "Earlier this year, a few friends of mine thought I went crazy. While they were busy playing Darksiders, Bayonetta and Army of Two: The 40th Day, my Xbox Live profile was showing that I was fooling around with SAW: The Video Game (yeah, I played the game a few months after it released - call it morbid curiosity). Despite its repetitive levels and flawed controls, the game managed to keep me interested until the end. Not to say that it was an amazing experience, but it did have more positives than negatives. For someone that grew tired of the movie franchise after the second chapter, it felt good to play a licensed game based on the Jigsaw killer."

Pros

+ Clever puzzles
+ Macabre presentation, great environmental sounds

Cons

- Clunky and frustrating controls
- Quick time events have taken over
- Way too punishing...and for no justifiable reason
- No more hand-made traps??
- Why break something that just needed a quick fix?????
