Konami is millking MGS
i wish kojima productions set a part from Konami

WhatARump5880d ago

Nah man i like it

it adds to the immersion of the game :)

PinkUni5880d ago

its funny and it gives them more money.

although with this much ads id think they give this game out for free

its something that wont change the gameplay, and is it really going to annoy you that much if instead of a can ration you see a moutain dew can?

not only is it something you can relate to, but its also kind of interesting because you'll know exactly what it tastes like haha.

ThatArtGuy5880d ago

If you *absolutely* have to have it in there, AT LEAST use logos, etc. from the time period. Peace Walker is supposed to happen in the 70's. Mt. Dew didn't use that logo until a lot later than that.

Anachronism FTL.

Walrus5880d ago (Edited 5880d ago )

The first thing I thought when I saw this was "This reeks of Kojima". Like when he got Playboy and Apple to sponsor MGS4, and when he was trying to get coke or pepsi to sponsor Drebin's soda. I love it.

@thatartguy: Have you played MGS? Clearly you haven't because if you had then you'd understand Kojima's sense of humor. To him and with him Anachronism FTW

AFTERTHOUGHT: I wonder if we'll see Mountain Dew Game Fuel return with Snake's Face on it? I hope so. I loved that stuff.

WhatARump5880d ago

ya id love product sponsorship; it just makes it all the more fun to see like a pizza hut ad somewhere

oh yea and those saying its the 1970's... you do realize this game is about a war torn spy who saved the world from a nuclear threat (shagohod or whatever) while maintaining his badass factor.

i don't think it needs to throw points towards realism ^^
unrealistic games are sometimes awesome : )

ThatArtGuy5880d ago

... not just the solid series. I understand Kojima. I absolutely hate product placement, especially if it's shoehorned in. It fit in MGS4. Playboy is around and people have iPods. It looks horribly shoved in here. Of course it's going to rip me out of my immersion when the setting and the product is separated by 30 years. It's like watching a movie set in 1955 and seeing a person driving a Prius. It might look more than a little out of place.

Awesome video. Tig and Los have the same exact moves but it looks so easy to beat them compared to MHF2/U.

Xlll5880d ago

well guns and rockets are a lot different then bone swords and bows lol. Still that is just to good to pass up.

some really good games on that list. some of my favorites (not on the list) are Metal Slug XX, ultimate Ghosts & Goblins, Gradius Collection, Motorstorm Arctic Edge and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters.

Knushwood Butt1351d ago

Metal Slug XX is surprisingly good.

isarai1351d ago

I get that The Warriors is technically a PS2 game ported over, but damn it's amazing on the PSP

roadkillers1351d ago

Dark Mirror was the best. Multiplayer and single player was fantastic

roadkillers1351d ago

I never tried that one. Once the PS3 was out, I was done with PSP… I would love to see a new one

The Out of Place Artifact - A Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Retrospective

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "Even to fans, the thought that a T-rated game could rank as the greatest is virtually unthinkable; how could the best Metal Gear possibly be a handheld title on a system less powerful than a PlayStation 2? Because it had to be – necessity is the mother of invention. Not only is this a full-fledged Metal Gear, the fresh spin on the gameplay draws from several sources outside of its wheelhouse. Peace Walker somehow manages to be less like its predecessor, Portable Ops, and more akin to Metal Gear Solid V. What boggles the mind is that it would be over five years before The Phantom Pain would release, an entire generation later."
