Rick Aristotle Munarriz from Fool writes: My cheers for Nintendo (OTC BB: NTDOY.PK) have recently turned to fears, and I'm not exactly heartened by its U.S. chief's decision to bash Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) as a new force in the gaming universe.
"It doesn't look like their platform is a viable profit platform for game development because so many of the games are free versus paid downloads," Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told video game website Kotaku.
Fils-Aime also claims that Apple isn't making a dent in Nintendo's handheld business.
Here's the problem with his metaphorical bravado. Let's say a new restaurant is giving away free appetizers, because advertisers are willing to foot the tab in exchange for sponsored access to freeloading eaters. The grub may not be great, but it fills the gut. By the time a patron is done, why spring to eat a regular meal at the dining establishment next door?

The Wii is now a retro console. Let’s get nostalgic about an often maligned system.
Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.
My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.
Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.
Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

That’s why we’re happy to announce the newest Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller and Wireless Headset collection, featuring inspired designs from Forza Horizon 6. The bright cyan and lime colorways celebrate the Horizon Festival’s recognition of iconic cars and hit music, with special features that are sure to impress any collector."

New Chrono Trigger Form-ism figures of Crono and Marle have been showcased at a Square Enix pop-up store, with pre-orders expected soon.
i dont consider apple in the gaming industry yet until they come with a console
not a mp3 player with small gaming ability
the ds is far superior that all i will say is there are hundreds of epic ds games and it came out in 2004-2005 with moderate power but even now the ds is getting old it still impresses with new zelda, okami 2 on the way,a new metroid on the way for dsi,i mean yes the dsi is an upgrade but only from a slightly more powerful n64 to near dreamcast but yes with the 3DS aswel nintendo will make others fail soon because the ds/dsi are amazing and can only get cheaper expect ds to sell for £80 and dsi to sell for £110 when the 3DS hits at the end of the year
umm, Apple games are for people that own normally their phone or little expensive touch products. Their games aren't in the same genre as Nintendos.
Are you honestly going to give your 7 year old an apple product to keep him silent... HELL NO, after fooling around with that for a bit he'll be back causing whatever trouble.
I like to use this idea when it comes to phone base games vs handheld games,
take 4 of these phones with games and give it to 4 kids in a room, then do the same with a real handheld gaming system. You can make your own conclusion but I've tried this and it's obvious those free time wasters aren't meant for all groups.
Maybe you're on a business trip, on a plane... ok I have a few mins to burn, pulls out the apple product.
I highly doubt apple is using these free games as an indication to see if they should enter the gaming market. They already over price their shyt if they come to the table then we know for a fact they can't go with the same over price ideal as that would kill their system.
4 players to the table... can the gaming market handle it is the question.
"Nintendo Is Wrong About Apple"
Really? I admit that I don't like the wii, but Nintendo know what they do, DS is a Real Testimony of That, so I think they're Right about Apple...
