For what it does, it's great. I got what I wanted to buy all in one device. Still, the price is crap. Had it been $99, $199, and $299 respectively, they would have sold millions. But it wouldn't have been Apple.

I am still very confused on what this iPad is supposed to do, from what I hear its just a giant iPod Touch, I have looked at what HP are offering soon with their version and its got killer features this iPad is more like iPOO.

I really love it when people make comments about a product they never even got to touch. Just go to your nearest Apple Store and go play with the damn thing for more then 2 minutes then make a half way valid opinion about it.

But a 14'' laptop does 100000x more, is not much bigger and does what it does perfectly

BTW i never compared iPad to a 17-19'' laptop, i just say that my 14'' laptop is hugly portable and take it everywhere and can stand on its own than hold it in my hands, which again is a plus when iPad is so big and heavy to hold for extended period of time

And I'm sure to upset some apple lovers here but the ipad is just unneeded in almost any situation I can think of sorry. I love my phone and it's features but whenever I wanna surf the web at home I use a computer or laptop with full flash support, I love reading books so I read real books. Sure the ipad will do what it does real well but my toaster toasts my bread real well that's what I got it for should I just go on ahead and get a 500 dollar one and say that's reasonable cuz it will work too? Lol don't be fanboys
but but please go ahead and try it at an apple store! And what!? Check my email in a 500 dollar gizmo with really pretty and convinient interfaces? Lol the funny thing about apple knuckleheads is that apple can just make a webrowser open up slightly easier and cool looking and they'll get all excited and hot over it lol it's funny.

I like it for what it is and would buy one as an easily moveable internet browser - my Mrs would love it.

Alas, i cant justify that price tag. I've no doubt that what it does it does incredibly well but it dosnt do enough and it costs too much.

I rarely comment on this site but I feel the need to put in my two cents on this. Do you really need to try it to not be impressed with it? Do you need to eat a piece of sh!t, in order to realize it tasted like a piece of sh!t? Now I'm not saying that the Ipad is complete sh!t but since most people seem to say that is mainly for web surfing, and media payback; it's not worth the money. Like it or not but without flash, it's ability as a web surfer suffers. With the base model only offering wi-fi only (no 3g except on the more expensive model) it is also extremely limited in where it can browse the web. Without a valid tv output that can hook up to the majority of peoples hdtvs it is also limited as a media player to whoever is holding it(till they release an expensive proprietary docking station.) With the price tag being what it is I don't know anyone can view this as a better deal than a netbook(which are cheaper have bigger screens, and more functionality). Also to those saying that comparing it to netbooks is not really valid how so? Other than the touch screen functionality(which is replaced by a keyboard on netbooks) what does the ipad do that a netbook can't?
